Excellent ! It was a little hard for me to find a place with good facials. I moved to NYC 3 years ago and I haven't done any facial treatments here. I always did them back home when I was traveling to see my mom. I Decided not to go back home this year so my search for a good facial started months ago. I was reading a lot of reviews of different places but they always had something shady that didn't sounded good, till I found this place. I decided to give it a try and I am not sorry ! This place is a little gem hidden in the middle of a crowded neighborhood (116 , Harlem) . Their webpage is extremely easy to navigated , you make an account and request an appointment. They have several estheticians , you can choose whoever you like or whoever is available at the time you want the appointment. It was my first time so I didn't care who were gonna doing my facial. After you request the appointment they reply really fast. They have several types of Facial with enhancements if you like something extra, just read and decided which one you would like , if you need something else the esthetician will say something regarding your needs and you can change it or not , it is up to you. I was greeted cheerfully by Dani at the Front Desk, the main liaison for scheduling and rescheduling my appointments. After being greeted by Dani, Yasmine, the owner of Uplift Spa, came to the front to greet me too. Both offered a very nice welcome and were a delight to chat with throughout my visit. There were no shortcomings to the hospitality. After completing the obligatory short questionnaire, I was brought to the treatment room by my technician Alexa. The room played to all of my senses by being clean and dimly lit, there was also a soothing aroma and tranquil spa music playing in the background...this setting was what I was looking for. By sense of touch, Alexa worked wonders on my Brightening Facial. She also had a calm demeanor and was informative and pleasant to talk to. All necessary senses were satisfied and had me relaxed during my entire visit, I couldn't have asked for anything more. Except one more thing, with the 50 min Facial completed, Alexa had my face left with that natural glow. Uplift Spa is on another level and brings a spirit of diversity to Spanish Harlem. I absolutely LOVE Uplift Spa!! I've been coming here for almost 2 years now, and my experience gets better every time. I've gotten laser treatment at other spas before, and it's always painful and uncomfortable. But at Uplift, the staff go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable. After just 2 treatments I already started seeing a reduction in hair growth, which is not easy for women of color.. I dont know how but I stumbled across Ayurvedic Facelift Massage on Google for reducing signs of aging. Next I researched the most affordable places to get one in NYC. Candice Forness in BK is over $200 a session, Denise Glason offers a special of 125 a session, bingo Uplift Spa in East Harlem has a Groupon for $89 let's go there first. I called and the owner Yazmin was trained in London at the school where the technique originated. Legit. Made my way there. Hello, Yazmin is magical!!!!!!!!! She's very friendly, a healer, and she made me look younger after one session!!! You're supposed to do 6 sessions in a row to retrain your face muscles and then once a month for maintenance. Omg, where can I get a sugar daddy to pay for my face massages I'm poor boots. I'm gonna hold off on Juvederm for a bit longer after discovering this facelift massage... Go to Yazmin. Yasmin, my esthetician is wonderful and very knowledgeable and tales the time to educate her clients on their condition which I greatly appreciate. Loved coming here for my personalized facial! Honestly one of my favorite parts of the whole experience was the back and arm massage while one of the masks she used was setting in. Also loved the extractions she did. Sometimes I feel like esthetician's will only go in so much fearing for client and their pain but she got so much out with very little pain. I have got the underarms, brazilian and full leg packages, but have only finished the underarms and they look great. In addtion, everyone is so nice! You can get laser hair removal anywhere but you can't get their level customer service anywhere. I have waited a few months to provide this review. The 2 stars are for LISA and my first facial at this location which was absolutely amazing. This facialist was truly outstanding. Not only is she talented at what she does, she is the kind of professional that you would pay twice as much to see. She thoroughly steamed my face and completed a flawless extraction. She tailored treatment according to my skin. She provided helpful recommendations and shared information from dermatology/holistic experts. Her recommendations for the spa's products were welcomed. Her optimism was infectious. At checkout, Lisa had left a spa booklet with all the critical information that she previously mentioned including the business card. I left the spa renewed, refreshed and with flawless skin, feeling like where has this spa been all my life and that I would follow Lisa anywhere. I hope she knows how good she is. This being said, I was eager to return so 2 months later and right before a wedding, I booked another facial with Lisa. A few days before the appt, the spa called to say that she was out sick and they would need to reschedule my appt. Given the wedding, they recommended that I book with the other facialist who they assured me was just as good. Never before has the phrase "Night and Day" been so applicable. I have taken 2 stars off from this review due to the second facial which was unbelievably unprofessional and horrible. I arrived promptly for my appt. I could hear the receptionist tell someone that the facialist had not arrived. I gathered she was told to take me to the spa treatment room because that is what she did upon getting off the phone. The 2nd facialist whose name I am intentionally not providing, arrived almost 30 minutes late and barely apologized. No one came into the room to update me on her arrival and I was not given an option to reschedule. Instead, I was put in the room and led to believe that she would be in shortly. I do not know where to begin with this facialist. Her phone kept buzzing throughout my treatment so she kept reaching for her phone and inevitably touching my face at the same time. She did not steam my face enough so extractions were rough and she left scarring that took over a week to clear (yes, had to cover them for wedding). She left the natural peel on too long and did not apply enough lotion to my face and arms so any massaging was quite rough. This was clearly a rushed half-axx job. Unlike Lisa, she did not explain a single thing that she was putting on my face. She openly stated that she did not like the natural products that the spa sold and did a hard sell on her own products, urging me to meet up with her separately to discuss further. Of course, her products could address the concerns and flaws with my skin that have only ever been noted by her. She left for an extended period of time more than once and could be heard laughing outside. When she finally returned the second time, she did a really quick closeout on my facial. She did not could not even give me two minutes alone to put my clothes back on and proceeded to tidy up the room while I was getting dressed. She immediately went outside to get her next customer who clearly was one of her regulars. So basically I was rushed out so she could get the next client on time even though she was exceedingly late for my appt. No, I did not get any closeout pamphlet or recommendations but do you really have to ask at this point? I have taken off the final star because I emailed the owner to communicate my experience and I also provided a thorough account in response to the electronic receipt and have not heard back almost 90 days later. I really do hope the owner has addressed any customer service concerns such as this so her business can continue to thrive. Wow Wow Wow, This place is a gem in east Harlem. Super clean, friendly and inviting. I bought a package for six laser treatments for my underarms and am on the 4th session. Yasmine is very kind and puts you at ease. Im still amazed that I no longer have to shave. I've also gotten a facial with Casilda that was the best one I've ever had. (Im going in for another facial tomorrow). Casilda is a complete professional and very knowledgeable of what to do with my combination skin. I have found my spa and recommend it to everyone. Came in earlier for a facial with Michelle. I am a hairstylist myself and I am very cautious as far as customer service goes and sanitation. The spa is not too big which I actually prefer as I find smaller places tend to be more personal. The atmosphere is very neat and clean, there is a table set up with water and I was offered tea as well (Michelle was very big on hydration as it plays a huge role in skincare and keeps skin nice and supple as i imagine it does with pretty much every other organ lol.) Anyway this was my first facial (at an actual spa dedicated to facials, as a cosmetologist I've had several semi professional facials in school.) everything was very relaxing, the aroma in the room was of lavender I believe which was relaxing as well. Michelle was very knowledgeable and had a nice touch while massaging, and exfoliating my skin as well as applying every other cream, serum, cleanser and everything we used in btw. I also had extractions added which came with some electro therapy to kill bacteria and keep my skin nice and acne at bay. My skin felt very hydrated, my facial muscles were relaxed as were my shoulders neck and even hands! Nothing made me feel irritated (I have rosacea so it's a common concern for me) and she gave me several tips to do day to day that addressed some of my concerns for my daily routine. She didn't try to sell me anything at all, just gave me professional advice and I felt like I could trust her and if she recommends something it is definitely keeping my wellness in mind and not my $$ which I think is truly important. I have already booked an appt. for my mom as I left confident enough to recommend their services to everyone. Pricing was very reasonable especially when you are in the hands of true professionals. I was referred to Uplift Spa by a friend of mine who does laser hair removal here and told me i had to check it out. Yesterday, I did my first ever Micro needling facial along with Micro Dermabrasion and Blue Light Therapy ! From start to finish the experience was amazing. I was extremely nervous about the micro- needling but the staff answered all my questions and walked me thru every step of my facial. It was very minimal pain/ discomfort!
