Friendly greeting, lovely staff, and the room upstairs for the facial was comfortable and attractive. Jonna gave me a wonderful facial, and I was happy to be there, especially since I hadn't had a facial in several years. She asked me if I wanted an add on for a deep cleaning of pores with hydration and I agreed to it for an additional $50. The facial lasted about 1 1/2 hours and I enjoyed it. Only issue I have is that when I got home and looked at the charge, in addition to the $50 for the add on, there was a $6 charge for "customized". That annoyed me, I must admit. But quite disappointed with this place, esp as I'm desperately looking for a facial place and reading past reviews I was hoping this would be it I got three pore cleansing facials - each time was different than the other time (1st time had 5 min of massage; 2nd time was the best with 10 min of decent massage; 3rd time had 0 minutes of massage and what helped me make up my mind). They did try to upsell some stuff but thankfully I did not spend more money on this. I'm not disappointed cos of the massage point but because there didn't seem to be a standard procedure. The aesthetician I think was listening to some audiobook or something. Again, individually, none of these are big deals but I felt unsatisfied overall. Anna did my gel manicure and regular pedicure for $60 plus tip. She did such a good job and the picture is my manicure a week after I got it done. During that time, I've cleaned my apartment, traveled with a heavy suitcase, came back with said suitcase, etc. By this time usually, at least one nail has chipped or in the process of chipping but not in this case at all. Similarly, my pedicure with regular polish is still going strong and that's even after I've worked out a couple of times this week, attended a business conference (I'm looking at you pointy toed shoes) and walked around 20k steps daily. Great experience! I bought a Groupon for a gel manicure. I am impressed by the gel manicure as it has lasted over two weeks! Their color selection was also pretty large. All of the staff members were very patient and helpful! I also got a pedicure which in my opinion was below average as my toes chipped in a week. On Monday to Wednesdays they have a deal for a regular mani/pedi for $27. Many people were coming in and out getting facials; facials were upstairs. Have had a really great experience here! Came twice with Groupon, which is actually part of what I like about them ...bought a groupon for 2 gel manis and two regular pedicures and they let me split up the manicure and pedicure because I didn't need the first two at the same time. Really appreciated them being flexible. The salon is small but clean and everyone was friendly. Chatted with one of the manicurists about how almost everyone that works there is from somewhere different which is kind of cool. Their prices on Groupon are pretty similar to at the salon (the only reason I still did Groupon was because Groupon was having a sale so it lowered the price even more), so I'd just go in and give them the money directly! This was my first time at this salon and I am unimpressed. The person at the front was nice and called me for a change in my appointment time (to 30 min earlier). I came in 15 min before my new appt time and waited to ~20min after my appt time, which is totally fine because delays happen every now and then. However, after I sat down, the first person who work on my nails did not introduce herself and asked if I could wait another 30 minutes. I told her I couldn't because I had another obligation after. She proceeded to prep my nails without saying a word and looked extremely annoyed. I also couldn't tell how they sanitized the instruments because they weren't pre wrapped. I'm pretty sure she used the same nail clippers on me as she used on the person next to me but it was too late to say anything when I realized this...ugh. Then for some reason, I had a different person paint my nails. She also didn't say much but she was polite / pleasant and did a good job with the gel manicure. That being said, these usually last around 2 weeks and I already have 2 chips after 5 days (see photo)! If you are serious about your skin, do not come here for a facial. I had a Groupon for an 80-minute facial. Right after I laid down for my treatment my facialist came in and tried to aggressively upsell me on a $50 pore-cleaning add-on. I politely declined, and if that would've been it, it would've been fine. But she looked taken aback that I declined and proceeded to push me two more times about it- it was incredibly uncomfortable. The next issue that presented itself: I'm tall and my toes were partially hanging off of the treatment table. We happened to be in a part of the room that people had to walk through to get in and out, and my feet were literally walked into more than several times throughout the treatment- to a point where I started to feel insecure about being in people's way. The facialist's hands, unfortunately, also smelled of garlic and onion and this made it ...kind of next to unbearable to have my face massaged by them. I also don't trust the procedure or products that were used. I've had many facials and am a skincare fanatic- the application process seemed highly questionable to me. And the facialist would leave for long periods of time. Or even worse, she would sit right next to me not doing a thing (at one point for at least 15 minutes) and I could hear her sighing as she waited for the treatment to wrap up. At every other professional facial I've had, they massage you during these times. It was hella bizarre. This facial just was not it- my skin was broken out for two days afterward, and this has never happened to me before with prior facials. It is a small, busy place for almost all your beauty needs, including Russian Manicure. It is definitely more expensive than the regular gel manicure, but it remains very good-looking for at least 4 weeks. Its best part ( at least for me) is not even a very thorough and super smooth gel coverage, which stays for at least 4 weeks, but extremely nicely and thoroughly done nail shape, including cuticles. This review is regarding the eyelash extensions. I can say that making the appointment and checking-in was easy. However, this has got to be the worst set I've ever gotten. When I got there, there was no demos or examples to view. No introduction, so I will have to refer to then tech as "the tech". The tech didn't clean my eyes before attaching the lashes. As soon I got up to use the bathroom (immediately after the lashes were done), a bunch fell out already and the tech had to glue them back on. I thought the bunch was a bit strange because they weren't individual lashes, but 3 or 4 lashes from one base. A lot of my bottom lashes were stuck to my top lashes and had to be pried apart. As soon as I started running for the subway, more lashes fell off and into my eye. Lovely. Now my eyes is teary and red on the subway. Before I left, the tech didn't give me any post-care instructions (such as not letting your lashes get wet or not using any oil-based makeup) nor did I receive a lash brush (that every place I've ever gone to will give you). Save your money and go to EyeLoveLash in midtown instead. My last set with them lasted 2 months! read more

I was referred to Bella by a friend and it's the best decision I've ever made. You get your money's worth and MOST IMPORTANTLY the lashes actually LAST. In the past, my lashes are bare after about a week and a half. And I'm super cautious. I don't shower after 24 hrs and I use oils free make up remover but before Bella they always fell out almost instantly. Also I'd like to note that she does such a good job I rarely wear eyeliner anymore unless I'm going out to something fancy. I work out almost everyday and i wear makeup here and there and i don't need to go back for a fill for at least 4 weeks! The esthetician was great at extracting but the quality of the products was questionable. When I booked the facial, I specifically asked for no fragrance because my skin is very sensitive to it. She said that she has items with no fragrance in them and that it wasn't a problem. Mid way through the facial I can tell the toner she is putting on me has fragrance in it so I ask her and she shows me the bottle. Not only is there fragrance in it but the ingredients are really cheap. The first ingredient was alcohol and then perfume. She also showed me the other bottles where the moisturizer was mostly mineral oil and perfume. For $130 I would really expect better ingredients than that. If it only happened once, I would not write this review. However, it happens all the time. You make a reservation. You ask them to verify that indeed this time is available and they say "yes". Then, you get there and more often than not, they say that they are sorry...someone came late, someone did not show, etc......and the wait time is not like 10 minutes late, it is more like 30-45 minutes because they took someone else in your time slot.
