Gorgeous cafe, lovely space! Great service. So many different delicious creative coffee offerings. The food all looked great. Will def be back!

Matcha latte

So good!! We were I. The are for a day and half and had to go twice! We had a Spanish latte, white cinnamon latte and 2 strawberry matchas, they were all so good. Personally I don't like coffee but I loved my boyfriend's lattes. Service was quick and easy, and place is chill as there were many people studying.

Turkish Coffee 12oz

This place has a lot of options for affordable good coffee, and you can get it in sizes from 12oz to a large pot or a party-size to go. There are tasty latte options too, but I do enjoy a simple coffee like their Turkish coffee. If you're hungry they also have good sized bites, both savory and sweet. The good coffee and snacks are great to enjoy while sitting in their comfy chairs or hanging with a small group. There's lots of space and good lighting from the windows. It's a welcoming place to stay for a hot drink and chill vibes.

Yemeni Tea w honey

So I'm new to the Arabic coffee house scene. Came in for tea. Yemei black tea, wow. Flavor palate was extensive but not overwhelming. Added a little honey to mine. Service was great, smiles, kindness, knowledge. Vibes were authentic according to my Arabic friend who was with me. Music was legit, super chill energy. Did I mention the tea was dope!! Lol. Recommend stopping by if you are around.

The gal at the counter was sweet and helpful. It was my first time and pretty full for 11pm on a Monday. Lots of places to sit, inside and out. The music was a little loud for me but no one else seemed bothered by it. I was there to collect a Too Good to Go bag. Both items were tasty but usually you get more items so I was slightly disappointed.

Stopped in for a drink after roaming around the area. It was cute inside and clean but tables were all full mostly with everyone on laptops. It was nice to see it busy but felt very deterring for anyone trying to stop in and sit to enjoy their drink/food. We ordered the pistachio latte and heyma matcha. The pistachio had good flavor and enjoyed it. The matcha was pretty good but felt fairly heavy with the cold foam and all the milk. It didn't have the matcha flavor to it tho besides being green. I enjoyed the spices in the drink but would've loved the flavor to come thru. Nice to stop in and check this place out.

A coffee shop with a unique and interesting atmosphere. The Turkish coffee has a distinctive flavor and is a fun experience to try. The staff are friendly and welcoming.

Came here for a quick weekday evening latte. There is plenty of indoor seating, but it filled up as the night went on. A lot of people were working on their laptops (there is free wifi which is very convenient! Parking was easy with street spots right in front. They offer a wide range of unique lattes. I ordered the hot rose lavender latte and really appreciated the presentation with rose petals on top. The flavor was delicious with strong floral notes! There are several other lattes (like the pistachio latte and banana matcha) on the menu I'd come back to try! They also serve Middle eastern snacks and sweet treats if you want something to munch on with your drink. The music, beautiful decor, and Yemeni-inspired drinks make the space feel warm and easy to spend hours in! It is also open late, which makes it an easy go to for an evening coffee or dessert stop :)

Baidhani coffee
Vi T.

Picked up a Baidhani coffee, slice of rose petal milkcake, and slice of dubai chocolate cheesecake. I highly recommend the desserts that I had. Both were flavorful and lovely to have. The milkcake was fragrant and light. Cheesecake had more of a mousse texturen but had a nice balance of pistachio flavor with a light layer of chocolate ganache on top. Bottom crumb of the cheesecake was made of a crispy layer of Kadayif/Knufeh instead of graham crackers. They also have a decent selection of savory and sweet pastries and turnovers. However this is a coffeeshop and the Bhaidani coffee was disappointing. It tasted watered down and weaker than I expected. I couldn't detect any of the spices/seasoning (ginger, cinnamon, etc) that are supposedly brewed in with this specialty coffee. The venue is located on Univerisity Ave, about half a mile away from the UC Berkeley campus. There's plenty of seating (tables for 2 or 4) with wifi and the atmosphere is good for solo computer work or to catch up with friends over coffee and snacks. It is decorated nicely inside too.

Heyma matcha
Avey S.

I ordered the Heyma matcha and it delicious! I loved all the spices mixed in which made the flavor profile very unique from other matchas I've tried. It was too sweet for me though so in the future I'd ask for less sweet. There's a beautiful background on Yemeni coffee by the entrance which I really enjoyed reading. The interior is beautifully designed with different spaces for lounging or working.

Went here on Christmas Eve and got a socotra, Arabic coffee and my kiddo got a strawberry matcha. The socotra was really good. We also got some honeycomb bread that was great with the coffee. They took a while to take our order but other than that, service was good. Was nice to get some good coffee on a rainy evening!

Aden tea
Jack R.

If you want hot, and I do mean burning hot strong coffee or tea please come here. This coffee or tea will have you wired so you can complete whatever task you need. Their fresh coffee and Aden tea is a 10/10. ..then the other things we ordered went downhill. Baklava cheesecake: at $7 a slice I expected a decent cheesecake. Instead it tasted like a dried out Sara Lee cheesecake with some thin chocolate and honestly it didn't even taste like Dubai chocolate since we couldn't taste the pistachio or the chopped kadayif. Definitely a 1/5 wouldn't order this again. Pistachio milkcake was a hit. 10/10. Like a Pistachio Tres Leche cake, really good. Baklava: horribly dry 1/5, would not order again. My coworker said it didn't even have much honey or pistachios inside. Just plain sad. Honeycomb: 3/5 toasted fresh and topped with honey. Kind of like a dry overly toasted bread with very little cream cheese. Probably wouldn't order this again. Dubai Latte: Wow this was horrible. Looked great though but tasted like old coffee mixed with milk. Didn't taste the pistachio or the chocolate. Wound up throwing it away. Mocha: coworker ended up not drinking it, said it was watery. The lemonade pomegranate was also horrible. Coworker said, "it tastes like country time lemonade mix with light pomegranate syrup with a lot of water for $7." What a mixed bag. The coffee shop looks great though! Service was slow and the two women just complained about every customer so that was interesting.

Walked past this place while visiting the area. Ordered the Heyma latte, iced brown sugar butter latte, pistachio milk cake, chicken turnover, and a cheese manakeesh. Everything was delicious! The woman that helped us was friendly and brought everything on a tray. Really relaxing place with comfortable chairs. Highly recommend!

Love Artis Coffee!…read more My wife and I haven't been on Fourth Street Berkeley in a long long time! Thankfully while doing some shopping and after a great meal at Divan Restaurant a few block away we popped into Artis Coffee. Wow! It was after 4 pm but what the hell, I ordered a cappuccino and my wife order a defca cappuccino, several pastries and took in the HUGE space! Our cashier was very friendly and appreciated our humor and debate on whether to have a "decaffeinated" cappuccino or not. I convince my wife to order one and she loved loved loved it! My "hi test" cappuccino was spectacular, smooth and perfect! Honestly, It took me back to Roma where we had aour honeymoon 22 years ago! Bella! If you find yourself on Berkeley's Fourth Street and looking for a perfect roasted coffee make sure to hop into Artis Coffee and I know you will love it too!

Artis Coffee was okay…read more I had an Ube Latte, 12 oz, iced, with matcha and oat milk ($8.50 plus $2 tip) and it was good. Artis opened on December 7, 2013 and is located on the northern end of the Fourth Street Shops (a.k.a. Fourth Street Berkeley). This is a fairly spacious cafe with an industrial/warehouse, minimalist look. During my afternoon visit, it was busy inside and out on the covered patio. Lots of people on their laptops. Artis roasts their own coffee. Service was fine. I got a side eye from the cashier/barista when I asked where the water station was (it was my first time and I was unfamiliar with this place), but they were nice and polite otherwise. The water pressure at the self-serve faucet was too strong and sprayed water everywhere. Good for a coffee fix if you're in the area.

Baristas explained that they are up for trying different and sometimes unusual combinations for their customers. I wasn't adventurous this time, but it made me want to explore in the future. I came here to work, hoping for a relatively warm and cozy spot that wasn't too sleepy. I was not disappointed. The wifi was good, music was fun and unobtrusive. Decorations and layout gave a friendly, welcoming environment. Not only were the benches and padded chairs comfy, the ambiance was kept even in the bathroom. Spacious, warm lighting, cute bathroom with a great mirror and cool sink. I don't ever ding places for hospital-looking bathrooms (you know, fluorescent lights, questionable floors, sand paper toilet paper...) but this was one of the few where I was impressed. Good to know: Jaffa cakes are only available on the weekend Parking: Some of the streets nearby are resident-only parking so make sure to double check!

They've also got a good sized menu for coffee and tea drinkers alike.

Took about 25 minutes to get my two drinks. It was nice that ordering is through a touch screen which made things move a teensy bit faster. I like how they have outdoor seating - perfect for a summer day to enjoy a coffee and sit around (has few umbrellas to cover the sun). Inside there are only a small number of seats. Ordering is easy and you can also watch them pour your coffee, which is nice. They have a lot of Chinese beans that I wouldn't have tried otherwise or known about. They sell beans and coffee accessories there too. We ordered a pour over and they had at least 7 beans to choose from, and even had Geishas (this may have been special beans on rotation). On the pricier side but that's expected. We also tried the Shiro miso latte, which was a tad disappointing. Perhaps we aren't actually the biggest fan of miso in a coffee drink but the flavor profile wasn't our taste. I'd return for the specialty beans + pour over if I was ever in the area!
