I've been seeing Heytea all over social media and finally had the chance to try it out! We came on a friday night around 8pm and we waited about an hour in line before ordering. I got the coconut mango boom which I really enjoyed. Super refreshing and the toppings worked really well as well. My friend got the cheese grape boom and I had a sip and the grape flavor was very strong and refreshing! I like how you can adjust the sugar and ice levels because most places don't let you do that for slushies. Honestly I really enjoyed the drinks but they are a bit expensive compared to other places that have similar drinks. I'll probably be coming back once the hype dies down because these lines are long ! I will note that our drinks came out really quick after we ordered. read more

Was super excited to try Heytea but overall my experience was only okay. Line was very long due to the buy one get one 50% off, but they managed it well. They didn't get our orders correct though. My friend ordered a Grapefruit Boom but got a Grape Boom instead. I ordered a Cheese Mulberry Strawberry Boom for my husband, but they didn't include the cheese. As for the drinks, I liked that all the drinks used real fruit, and I enjoyed the mango chunks in my Coconut Mango Boom, but both drinks could have used more tea flavor. HeyTea is located at the Bravern, right across from LeTao. Went on day 3 of their grand opening with some friends and wow was there a long line. Waiting in line for a little over an hour just to get to the front. Not sure if it's because of the BOGO deal they had for their grand opening but I normally would not wait this long for bubble tea, but we had a friend working there so we made an effort to stop by. Inside the store was pretty cute. There are no sitting area so you have to order and then leave. But the Bravern area does have some benches in the courtyard so you can enjoy it there. Pretty pricey (~$9) but they do use real fruit in their drinks so it makes this place a "stop by every now and then" unless you just love it so much. Drink was pretty good. Got their strawberry bloom, which had real strawberry and some sort of jello in the bottom with a frozen smoothie thing on stop. They did ran out of Mango and yumberry when i visited. Not 100% sure what Yumberry is but manager said it was some fruit found in southern china. Parking can be found underneath the Bravern for free if you buy something in the shops. Will report that HeyTea does validate your parking ticket so bring that with you. To go with this somewhat pretentious aesthetic, the interior is minimalist, with just a small space for 20+ people cram inside to get out of the cold while waiting for their drinks. There is no relaxation here. The menu is similarly simplistic - just order a drink and go! It's not until you think about a typical boba shop menu when you realize that this methodology just doesn't work. Sugar level, ice level adjustments? Not displayed on the menu. Size and topping options? Not displayed. Heck, for most of the items, you honestly have no idea what you're going to get when you order. Brown Sugar Bobo? Supreme Brown Sugar Bobo? Bobo Pop? What are the differences? I certainly didn't know, and the cashier, who was also busy making and packaging drinks, couldn't be arsed to answer any questions given how busy he was. Bobo Milk Tea, Minimal Sugar (30%), Less Ice ($6.99) - Heytea goes so heavily on the milk that all I could taste was milk with caramelized sugar. Does this milk tea actually have any tea in it? No idea. They could have named it a sugar fresh milk and I probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference. One huge knock against them is that they only offer whole milk for their drinks and have no alternatives and no lactose-free milk. Considering that this chain comes from mainland China and ~90% of Chinese people suffer from lactose intolerance, this is pretty suspect. Then again, this could also be due to their horrendous menu. The boba served at Heytea is better than the drink. The pearls are on the smaller side - not as small as mini boba, but noticeably smaller than most. The boba is soaked in a heavy syrup solution and becomes very sticky, with a good portion of the exterior easily sliding off. The pearls are somewhat on the softer side, but I don't think they are overcooked or old since they still exhibit a good amount chew, just less than a more typically sized boba would. Milk Tea Rating: 3/5 Boba Rating: 4/5 I rate places based on how much I enjoyed the food/drinks and do not usually account for my actual experience with the shop. So while I've rated Heytea a 4/5 (actually a 3.5 that rounds to a 4), that's not representative of my thoughts of this boba shop in general. Heytea opened up over the summer where YiFang Tea originally was at The Bravern in Downtown Bellevue. I had to look it up, but Heytea is apparently a popular Chinese tea chain with over 4000 stores around the world. They pride themselves in using high quality ingredients such as real organic milk and tea and are known for their cheese tea and new-style tea. My friend and I visited at around 7:00pm on a Tuesday evening. While other reviews have said that the line is usually out the door, there was only a short line when we arrived. My friend and I both ordered the COCONUT MANGO BOOM (+$7.70 including tax) as we wanted something that was less caffeinated in the evening. I got mine with 50% sweetness and light ice, but my friend got 100% sweetness. According to the bobarista, the most popular drinks are the JASMINE GREEN CHEESE TEA and the CHEESE GRAPE BOOM, which we'll have to try a different time. The COCONUT MANGO BOOM was basically a thick mango slushy layered with coconut milk. In fact, they have a poster that shows a diagram of exactly what's in it: freshly prepared mango puree, aqua green Jasmine tea (slushie), coconut milk, clear jelly, and sago (mini tapioca pearls). I've had a similar slushy drinks at CoCo Fresh Tea & Juice, and they taste awfully similar to each other. I will note though that the COCONUT MANGO BOOM had real pieces/chunks of mango in it whereas I'm pretty sure Coco's version just uses mango puree. My friend and I were trying to figure out if we were supposed to stir it or drink it in layers, and decided that it tasted better stirred. It also tasted better after the ice melted some. I liked the sago, but wasn't a big fan of the clear jelly which was just unflavored gelatin. While the drink was good, it wasn't outstanding and not something worth going out of my way for. In terms of service, there's honestly not too much human customer service involved, since you order at the kiosk. They give you a receipt and you can track your order status on the screen. They then call out your receipt and check to make sure the numbers match. As far as atmosphere, they have no indoor seating, which I think is disappointing, given the rainy Seattle weather. Besides the small standing bar they have indoors, they expect their customers to take their drinks to go or to drink it outside in the open-aired mall (which is really only logical in the spring/summer). Even though their space is small, they should provide a place for people to mingle and enjoy their drinks. In sum, the drink was alright, but with so many other competing bubble tea places in the area, I can't say that this would be my bubble tea spot of choice. I'd personally prefer CoCo or Chi Cha San Chen, but may come here again just for a different flavor. We first heard of this place because we went to Singapore and loved it. We were so excited to get hey tea here in Washington, but unfortunately the service was disorganized. I don't typically do negative reviews but this was unacceptable. We ordered just 2 brown sugar milk teas and it took 46 minutes to get our drink. Our number was on there for a long time and didn't move. They got one of our drinks to us and the other drink (which was the same) was sitting out for 30 minutes (melted). They still gave it to us and didn't even refund or say sorry. I understand they are swamped but we got a melted and old milk tea due to their mistake. The first time I had HeyTea was at a mall in Hong Kong. I loved it so much that I came back again and again the following days. One time I almost missed my flight in Shenzhen trying to get my HeyTea fix in the airport. Back in 2017/18, you can literally pay people to stand in line and order you some HeyTea in Beijing. So when the line wrapped a few blocks in downtown Bellevue, it was not surprising at all. We've all been waiting for this moment. I highly recommend ordering ahead with the mobile app. Ordering directly during busy times can result in 45 min wait easily. The store front is tiny with no seating areas. They validate parking though, which is helpful. Now... the drinks. I think if you level set your expectations, this can still be a really enjoyable experience. If you've had the drinks in Asia, you might be disappointed by your typical orders. I get it from both sides. It's hard to source ingredients in the states and have a super standardized recipe globally. For example, Creamy Cheese Grape in Asia typically uses Kyoho grapes, which is quite different from the standard grapes in America. So ordering Creamy cheese grape and expecting it to taste the same as HeyTea in Asia can easily lead to disappointment. Same goes with any strawberry drinks--American strawberries simply don't taste the same, so the drinks won't taste the same either. I guess comparison is the thief of joy. For me, I'll stick with milk teas, pure teas, or ingredients that don't taste drastically different here. read more

If they block the only way to redeem a coupon or promo, they should honor it in store. This made the promo essentially useless, which is extremely disappointing. I thought that they brought the mango flavor really into life, considering that it is off-season, but everything else is pretty average and can be found in other Boba shops, especially for a lower price point. I am writing to share a disappointing experience I had at your store on Sunday at around 3:30 PM. The cashier who assisted me--a Chinese male with a noticeable mole on his eyebrow--spoke to customers in an unusually rude and dismissive manner, and I believe additional training would greatly help improve the customer experience. I ordered three drinks (two grape and one mango). He told me the wait time would be 25 minutes, but he did not inform me that the grape drinks required a much longer wait because the store was low on grapes. Had he communicated that clearly when I ordered, I would have chosen different drinks. After waiting about 15 minutes, I went to check on my order, and he then told me it would take another 25 minutes because they didn't have enough grapes. At that point I chose to request a refund, as the total wait would have been around 45 minutes. When processing the refund, he told me he could not provide a receipt and that I should "check with my own bank." When I asked for proof of refund, he was unable or unwilling to explain and had to call someone else over to handle the situation. During the entire interaction, he was also chewing gum, which added to the impression of unprofessionalism. In total, I wasted about 30 minutes and left without any drinks. This kind of customer service can cause long delays in-store and risks losing loyal customers. I sincerely hope the store can address this issue and provide better communication and professionalism moving forward. The cashier told me the refund should appear on my credit card within three days. I will be watching for it. read more

My friend from China recommended Heytea, since they are well known back in China. I was a little put off at first by the price, but it was really worth it. They use high quality fruit and high quality tea and you can really tell. I got the Crisp Grape Boom and I could really taste the grape and the tea. No seating inside the small shop but there is space outside in the Bravern courtyard with patio tables and chairs for anyone to use.
