The first time I tried HeyTea was this Bellevue location and I wasn't impressed with the drinks I tried. But coming back now and getting the guava grape and a pistachio cloud jasmine tea I was much more impressed. Both very good though not in my top tier echelon of tea shop quality. The shop is EXTREMELY small in a width kind of way with zero seating or even countertops to lean against really. The door is also where the line starts so it can awkward if even 1 person is inside waiting in line as it can block the entrance. Also the wait here also always seems quite long as I think they get a LOT of mobile orders so even if you see the shop empty take a look at the # of orders they're working on on the TV if you want to see how crowded they are. They are very professional though and will tell you how long the wait is if it's long, I usually wait 15-20 min each time I order here. I think they blew up in China as a luxury brand, people who even hire others to wait in the long lines in China for them to get the tea! I think they are about using high quality tea in freshly made drinks as kind of their tagline. Definitely worth a try especially for the seasonal fruit drinks I'd say. read more

This one is a bit off for me compared to the others in the Bay and NYC, but its great to see that its expanding. I love their expanded menu of drinks that appeals to a larger number of flavors. Coconut Mango Boom - I'm not sure what's wrong with this version but something is off balance from the usual. Today there was a buy one get one of a new drink, the golden oolong yuzu, so it was especially busy. I got the Triple Supreme Matcha Latte and ordered on the heytea app instead of waiting in the line to order. After placing my order, the app said there were 50 drinks ahead of mine in the queue, and about a 20 min wait. Staff were accommodating of my reusable cup and were, after some initial hesitation, able to serve my drink in my glass tumbler instead of the plastic cup. I've only had Heytea once before, but I've heard good things about the quality of the tea since they opened. There was a minimal line when I arrived, which was so nice since it was midday (prime boba drinking time). Last time I tried the triple matcha and today I got the coconut mango blue (which is the same as the coconut mango boom but just blue). I liked the sago in the drink and could easily tell there was real mango in it. The blue was a pretty color, and it was one of the main reasons why I chose this drink. I think it's a good choice for coconut fans (which isn't necessarily me, so it was a bit too much coconut personally but I set my expectations accordingly). The first drink I tried was a triple matcha, and I really enjoyed the matcha flavor. It had three different elements and forms of matcha in the drink, which was really cool and tasty. I'll definitely need to get that again in the future and try other matcha drinks. The highlight this time was the service. An issue for me was that the store is laid out really oddly, and you have to line up to order in a cramped narrow part of the store that gets really muggy to the point where it smells damp.
