We Arrived on the patio by the baseball field with 2 dogs at 12:37. There was one other table on…read morethe same patio. After ten minutes of no one coming by, my husband went inside to ask for service. They told him we were supposed to go inside to be seated but gave him silverware and said we'd be helped soon. He also asked for a water for our dogs at this time. There were no signs on either patio stating please wait to be seated or such. We thought because you know, Heath codes, we couldn't go inside the restaurant with our dogs. Fine, our mistake for not seeing the hostess first. Regardless, twenty more minutes go by without anyone coming to our table so again my husband goes inside to just place a Togo order instead since obviously we weren't going to be served. They gave us 2 sparkling waters on the house for our troubles, but still no water that we requested for the dogs. (We got our own bowl and water from the car since it was clear we wouldn't receive any). My husband was told they'd bring the Togo order out to us. After 40 more minutes of waiting for our Togo order, my husband went inside again to use the bathroom and then check on the order. It took ten minutes of him trying to get someone's attention for one waitress to finally tell him that the kitchen was now apparently backed up. At this point he asked for our order to be canceled and refunded. The waitress got the manager who came out and without saying a word to my husband or making eye contact, clicked buttons on the machine to do the refund, then when she finished she only said the refund would be there by midnight tonight. Obviously our order wasn't even close to being made (if it was even put in at all) as she gave no indication of it being "almost ready" and instead immediately gave a refund. During all of this, there were two couples waiting up front for a table for the same amount of time, and both couples ended up leaving because they hadn't been seated. It's Labor Day and I understand they might've been short staffed, but they weren't near as busy/near capacity as I'm sure they are during Tarleton move in week, graduation, baseball, etc. If they were short staffed or the kitchen was backed up, why not mention something like that during the first two times my husband had to go inside for service. Even short staffed places could send someone by to bring waters. (Montana's was short staffed last night and they checked on us plenty.) The manager who refunded us even walked right next to our table on the patio and got something out of a building/office. She knew we were there, waiting, with no food. And again, didn't say a single word to us. We didn't even mind waiting, but simple communication and/or sending someone out to check on us would've gone a very very long way.

From the reviews it seems they have gotten much better w the food than it was under prior ownership. Hats off to them, the food was on par, not lacking in any regard.

While contemplating life, I noticed writing on the stall wall, it said, "If you want the job done right, call Martha." I thought, Well, Martha sounds confident. So I thought I'd give her a call. Turns out it wasn't Martha. It was Bob's Plumbing. So I gave this place 4 stars, they need to occasionally confirm the numbers on the stall walls. And honestly, after the bathroom inspection, I'd trust Bob with the plumbing.
