If I could give zero stars, I would. Hi Desert Appliances has been out to my home twice to fix a problem with the washing machine. It is three weeks now and still not repaired. Today is September 8 I received a call from Chris (He says he's "the boss") Asking me questions so they can figure out what is wrong with it, In lieu of "the boss" coming and looking at the appliance himself. (After they've already had their guy out here twice) Still no resolution says they have to come out tomorrow for a third time to diagnose it When I asked what time he says, he'll call when he's on the way. Couldn't even give me a time frame 3 visits and 3 weeks to diagnose a problem that these guys at Hi Desert Appliances can't solve to date Unfortunately, we are renters waiting for our home to be built so we don't have a say in who they send out but if you do have a say, do not hire these guys. *******UPDATE *************** Today is September 9 Evidently, my phone call with "The Boss" at Hi Desert Appliances warranted Sierra to send out another company (Mr Appliance) their guy was literally was here 30-40 minutes and found the problem with the washer I would highly recommend Mr Appliance They don't waste your time and they also give you a window of when be here read more

I can't say enough of the outstanding customer we received from communication, to being on time. We had several services from our washer, to replacing our microwave. Michael was out Service technician and we was fast, tested his work and assured us that if we had any problem to call him. I highly recommend this company with great pleasure.. read more

Good quality used appliances, and they do delivery. Recently bought a stove from these guys. Their prices are very reasonable and they do deliver within a few days. I had called around to several places and this place definitely had the best price. They also had good brands. The delivery process was very smooth. So far the stove is working just fine. read more

I got a great deal on a refrigerator. After 4 months the defroster broke and the freezer filled with ice and the fridge didn't stay cold any more. They said there was a 6th month warranty, but took a month to get someone out to look at it. Called every month for 6 months but they never sent someone to fix it. Seems every time I called someone new had covid. Ended up removing it for another on. Asked them to come take it back, but they have more then they can fix so just told me to throw it away. read more

My insurance company assigned me this company to fix my appliance. They have been a nightmare. 4 months later and I'm still fighting with them to fix my dish washer. "Supervisors work remotely'" so there is no one to speak to besides the scheduler whom claims they aren't able to help. Smh read more

Went there today for a last minute gas dryer for a rental property. Owner was prompt and helpful, and even called around to his competitors to see what their availability and prices were. Top quality service. Eventually arranged to have same day delivery for me despite the last notice. The prices are reasonable; that is to say, if you want a refurbished appliance quickly and with delivery, Hi Desert's markups aren't greedy like other centers - they are enough to pay their bills and cover the cost of the customer's convenience. It is not a high tech operation so it's up to you to trust in that the appliances are in working order. Six month warranty on their work, which helps with the decision. Anyway, call ahead to find out availability and prices and shop around anyway. This was probably the best place I could find in and around Vegas for refurbished appliances. read more

In this era of only 5 star and 1 star ratings, I can give neither. They might be 5 star with only a few improvements. I walked in Wed, talked to Paul. But hadn't yet decided that I was going to replace (or go new). They have good prices, a good location, next day service, good guarantee and other features to recommend them. But went in next day and the one I sort of picked was gone. Which was fine because it was also the most expensive. So I picked the next most expensive. And I hadn't yet committed. It began with, delivery was the next day but their window was 4 hrs (1-5) long. And was only told this at 5 pm. I had scheduled other things already so.. was wanting to know if they could say a time within 2 hrs. No go. So had to cancel the entire half a day, and at least one thing was a very rare opportunity. So the opportunity for improvement is better communication with the costumer about delivery time. The "old days" of have one spouse at home (all the time) is long over. The guy did call one hour before. And was there exactly one hour later. If the new / used washer works, for at least 6 months. They will be meeting their guarantee. So... make of this review what you will. And... Tide pods are also lethal to old washers. read more

I have had a dryer and refrigerator replaced and both times I had to get a 2nd appliance because of issues with the first one. The first dryer was electric vs GAS then the other was burning clothes and clothes were getting caught near the lint trap and had bad scratches. The first refrigerator was manufactured in 2003, had cracked plastic shelves all throughout, ice machine wasn't working and it was pretty damaged from moving/storage. They tell me they have a 6 month warranty but they must not go through a very thorough check of their inventory before they install. The repairman also forgot to shutoff the water when replacing the fridge and there was a big puddle. I am a single mom and when I need a new dryer or refrigerator that is a crucial appliance. I have to take off at least a half day from work in order to wait for the install and then it doesn't work? Not cool! I am a renter and my property management company and landlord seem to like using this company. I have also been a home owner in the past and I am not sure how much cheaper they are than other appliance places, but I would think twice about buying used appliances here. read more

My husband, who is a home inspector, and I have been shopping at Hi Desert for eight years. First we bought a washer and dryer to leave with a house we sold. Since then we have bought two other items from them. What a bargain! Are they gorgeous - NO, but they work and they work well for a long time. They guarantee the product for six months and when I did have a problem two years later, they came out and for a modest repair fee ($60), fixed it parts and labor. The reason I am writing this now is that dryer I paid $125 for six plus years ago, finally bit the dust. I was looking for their phone number on line to see their hours tomorrow. When I saw the other review. I just had to stick in my two cents. It's probably posted by a competitor or an idiot. No one with half a brain could be unhappy with this company! If I could give them zero stars I would because they are nothing but a scam artist. I pay them $183 to fix my whirlpool dryer as it was squeaking and needed new wheels and belts. They came out and took the dryer apart and said I needed new parts. The guy said he was gonna be right back and he was gonna run to the appliance store and never showed up again. They ended up coming back out the following week only to use WD-40 to stop the squeaking and said it was fixed. Unknowingly to me they did not use any parts to fix my dryer and my dryer once again started squeaking for months later. I called out one 800 Appliance who showed me the parts were original and nothing was new. The technician from 1-800 Appliance showed me all the new parts he was putting in and completed my dryer repair. My dryer now works like new. I hope this review lets you know that hi Desert is not going to fix your appliance they are going to put a Band-Aid on it and charge you an arm and a leg. This company needs to be investigated and they need to be shut down. read more

Ridiculously high prices for banged up appliances- they're a bit delusional. It's not real orderly in the store space- it's an accident waiting to happen (watch your step or better yet avoid this place). Appliances are being repaired onsite. I think that they collect ones that are left on the street and see if they can fix it, then sell it. Another possible source could be from weekly places or out-of-business hotel/casinos. (I mean, there are just so many appliances stacked on top of each other in front of the store- it's a mess. It's almost like watching an episode of "Hoarders." It's surprising that they aren't given a citation because ordinary citizens are sited up to $1000 for leaving a mess in front of the home.) The appliances aren't really clean either. We were in a pinch because we needed a refrigerator after ours went kaput. I suppose that my husband wanted to exercise all options before making a purchase. There were a few other customers- one was making a purchase (yeah- I was surprised too). I didn't like it. And I wouldn't go back or recommend it to anyone either. read more

As many "USED APPLIANCES" stores out there in Vegas, I do approve and work with Chris, he has been an outstanding expert in this field of "used appliances; service & repair". My realty office has been using this guy for 4 years and hes' the most honest busness man out there, never cheats you on anything, he tells you the truth if the appliance can be repaired, or not. He gives upfront pricing on his repairs and the repairs are warranted for 3-6 months. Overall, with all the other work he gets, Hi Desert the best in answering & scheduling calls, unlike the competition which never seem to pick up nor be on time, I give this merchant a full 5 stars based on my opinions and what I've actually seen for the past 4 years. I set up an appointment with Hi Desert to repair my refrigerator between 9-1. The technician was to call on cell phone because I would be running chores that morning but still be close enough to return home. They called at 8:20 am on our home phone instead, leaving a message asking if anyone was home. At 9:30 I returned home, saw the message, then called them back asking when they would be out. Receptionist said we were taken off the books. When I asked why, she said no one was home. I had to make a lot of schedule changes to accommodate their original time and now the whole day was wasted. I work for a real estate company and we use Hi-Desert for all our used appliance or even appliance repair needs. Chris has been helping us for a long long time! They will send someone out to look at any appliance you are having an issue with for free. They will give you a reasonable estimate and they will give you options on what they might have available refurbished. They also give you a warranty with the product I believe it's 60 or 90 days; not 100% sure. I have bought several refurbished appliances which have been in great condition but may have some dings or scratches on the front. Working in property management the looks aren't important, it doesn't have to be perfect looking. We have had a couple issues like an appliance being delivered nonfunctional or too small and they have always addressed the issue immediately. They give you friendly service everytime and all my Tenants are happy with their customer service. We have no reason to use anyone else! read more

We've dealt with Chris several times over a two year period when we purchased appliances for a couple of rental properties that we bought in town. We were very happy with his prices and he backs up his products with a 6 month parts & labor warranty which is great for used appliances. He was very courteous and helpful. This store picked up the stove in a rental I had just moved into on Dec. 20. The loaner they gave me only has three burners working and the oven does not work at all. Here it is a month later and they tell me they are waiting for a part to fix it. (Must be coming from China by boat). Have been dealing with Chris who has yet to return a call when I have left messages for him. read more
