Went to the Hi-Hat in the past and every time I have had a good experience. So my GF and I decide to try it again for an early dinner, and this time it turned out to be rather disappointing. When we first walked in we found no one to greet us, which is fine if there is a sign or posted message saying "go to the Garage" or "see bartender", but there wasn't. So we walk around in the inside and are completely ignored by 2 waitresses coming in from outside. Finally we call to the bartender downstairs who informs us we need to go to the garage. Ok, no big deal, probably busy. We walk in and take a seat in the Garage and our waitress finally greets us with an attitude of "I could care less if you are here or not". She got the order right, but rarely came by and slammed down a refill of a drink I didn't ask for and tried to take my GF's plate away even before she had finished. Now I understand the service industry is not Heaven and you have to deal with difficult people, but when my GF said "thank you" to a waitress who was rude and did't even have the decency to mumble a "welcome" or "thanks for coming"? Come on. Despite this, we left a decent tip and my better half didn't want me to complain about it, but really, if you want people to come back to your establishment at least make an EFFORT to say "thanks". The food was good, but the service kinda spoiled it for us :( read more

$5 Moscow Mules all day every day.... you can't go wrong. I know there are complaints on some other reviews that give them mixed reviews, but I must say we are 20/20 on good drinks. They do ask for your ID if you want your Moscow Mule served in the traditional Copper mug (Currently $4.25/pound), but they have never made a big deal about it. It is a nice place to grab a drink on the weekend if you get a table, but if there is no seating available you tend to just be standing in the way. read more

I had a very bad experience at Hi Hat Lounge yesterday. I went here with my girlfriend and I was standing looking like an idiot at the bar for a good 20 minutes while this medieval looking tall male bartender did not acknowledge my presence at all. I was shocked. I would try and wave at him and like a dog tried to make eye contact with him with my puppy eyes but he kept serving others. You may be thinking that the bar must have been too busy. Well it was not because it was a Thursday night. I cannot even imaging what service is like on the weekends. Eventually, my presence was noted without a smile. Oh well, I am not going back. They try too hard. Clearly this is a place for the hip, younger crowd. The "foodies" must love it. But it looks like they try to carry every liquor ever conceived by man. They must have 500 different liquors behind that bar. Honestly, I wouldn't trust most of them....how often do those bottles get cleaned? Came here to meet up with some friends and grabbed a table on a Friday night. The bar was packed, loud and had some really good vibes. Being from out of town, I was sure my friends had taken me to a really happening spot. We caught a table by the window over looking the street. There was a big beer menu which was exciting because I'm a big beer fan. Our waitress however was not as informed about the menu as is hoped. When I asked her where a certain saison was from, she said "let me ask the bartender". But when she came back, she said "a saison is a kind of beer".... -_- ok, so I googled it. The crowd was accommodating when my brother showed up with more friends and moved down so we could occupy more tables. At the end of the night we closed out a big tab with multiple cards and the waitress was kind enough to let us point out each of our drinks on the itemized bill. Wandered into the Hi Hat for the first time ever on Saturday night. It was really not what I expected. It was a cool, dark, super chill bar on a street full of craziness. I was really digging it. It'd be a perfect place to bring a date and sip cocktails by candle light in the dugeon-like basement. (Dungeon-like is a compliment. It was really cool down there.) I had a Cider Boys apple and cinnamon cider and it was maybe the best class of hard cider I've ever had. The only knock against this place is that the prices are really high. Cocktails are like $9 and $10. But I guess that's probably where they make their real money. And the atmosphere is worth the extra $1 or 2. read more

Came on a Saturday night with a few friends to enjoy a night out and some drinks. Got a table upstairs and was helped by a waitress with Red Hair. Don't know her name, and she is lucky I don't. Ordered drinks, they didn't come for about 15 minutes, shots we ordered came about 10 minutes after drinks so now 25 minutes. Waitress returned to tell me they were out of Heineken, and was very rude when I enquired about 2 other beers they didn't have. Was gracious enough to give me the beer for free that finally came another 10 minutes later ( now we are at 35 minutes) this is why you get 1 star good job. Came back for our next drink order didn't even ask the 4th in out group if they wanted anything. Check came, Heineken they were out of was on bill. Took it off by crossing it out with a pen, like the computer will know that. We gave her a 7$ tip on a 39$ tab (minus the Heineken)......HERES THE FINALE. She returns and IN MY FACE asks if there was a problem at the table because we gave her a 1$ tip (it was 7$). She realized her mistake and was very embarrassed as she should be. Ordered a bloody mess, when it came there were ants crawling all over the salami/olive/pickle garnish. Called the server over, who didn't even apologize & just said "I'll get you a new one". New one came..took two drinks & noticed a number of ants floating on my drink. Let the server know again who said " I'll let them know" I said " I'm good, don't need another". Did they really just switch the garnish out? Do they have a real problem? Either way I'd think they'd make sure my 2nd was minus the ants. The food was good, but we were scared to eat it. They seem to have taken a complete opposite turn in the last 6 months- The bland, turn-and-burn fare they serve now is just like every other greasy brunch hole and, worse, COVERED in American cheese-food slices. **So Terrible** The "cheesy potatoes" just have an orange cheese-slime "sauce" that immediately coagulates into an inedible slurry on top deep-fried frozen potato cubes.
