Hometown favorite bar... fun atmosphere, friendly staff and lots of fun patrons. Great place to meet family or friends Typical bar food but all in all good. Always a fun time going on here.

3 Pigs. Thick tenderloin w/ pulled pork & bacon

I've been to the Hi-Ho twice in a 12 year span. My 1st visit was late night drinks and we had a great time with the locals, we actually left just so we could experience more of St Joe and realized later that we should have stayed there. My second visit was a Sunday afternoon when we our first 7 places we wanted to eat at were closed. Nothing is open in DT St. Joe on a Sunday! I ordered the bacon wrapped stuffed jalapeños as a starter and the Three Pigs sandwich. The jalapeños were scrumptious but small and pricey at 6 for $9. The sandwich was very bland, the tenderloin was more like a small breaded pork chop deep fried with bacon and some mass produced pulled pork. Just OK. If and when I get back to St. Joe; Hi-Ho you will be the first place I drink at and the last place I eat at. Bar - 4 stars Food 2.5 stars

Hi-Ho? More like Ho-Hum. If you are hungry ... don't waste your money. Again, Yelp reviewers raved about the food here, so we gave it a try. What a disappointment! It seems as though low expectations have become the norm among many customers in the region because I am continuously shocked by how appalling food and service turn out to be at places with four and five-star ratings (out of five). The highlight here was the nice guy behind the bar. The lowlights were the food, the prices, and his rude, blonde, female companion. The companion, a young, blonde woman in her twenties, worked behind the bar and as a server. When we first arrived, I had to get out of her way as she forced her way past me to get to a table, no "excuse me", nothing. Then, after I noticed that a couple of drunk guys had turned the TV I was watching the National League Division Series between the Cubs and the Cardinals on away from me (so they could watch it - again, without asking), I asked her if I could please continue watching the game we had taken that table specifically to see. She said: "well, they've been at that table all day", to which I replied "so?". She finally went over and turned the TV back in our direction after rolling her eyes. She then ignored us for 15 minutes until the nice guy behind the bar came over to take our order. I almost left at that point and probably should have looking back, but we decided to stay and ordered a few different things to sample the menu. As appetizers, we had a beef "slider" with cheese ($3.58) and a deep-fried beef taco ($2.79). The slider was a tiny piece of frozen meat with American cheese between two tiny bun halves, that was it. Hardly worth the price. The taco was in a greasy flour tortilla, but otherwise was not bad, but overpriced by $.29 to $.79. For our mains, we had a patty melt with onion rings ($8.99) and a Cuban sandwich with fries ($9.49). The patty melt's beef patty was small, there was hardly any cheese, the onions were almost raw (not "grilled"), and the onion rings tasted of fish because the frier obviously had not been cleaned in quite a while. The Cuban tasted decent, but there was not nearly enough meat or cheese and the fries were "OK". Overall, the service was sketchy, the food mediocre at best, the prices too high, and the value just not there. CombatCritic Gives Hi-Ho Bar And Grill 3 Out Of 10 Bombs ... Bombs Are Good!

Absolutely the best pizza & tacos in town! Wish they would serve Redd's Apple. I know they have Angry Orchard but it's not the same!

Good food. They become extremely busy on weekend nights. Even before they stop serving food. I assume it's because it is so good.

We knew we were going to love this place when a neighbor came out to distract his pit bull as we walked by. And when we stepped in to head the bartender explaining to a couple of other customers how terrified she is of clowns, we somehow knew we were going to have more fun here than we'd had all day. It turned out that bartender's name was Becky, and she's 1/2 of the couple who owns the bar. The other half is her husband, Waylan, who showed up later at the end of our visit. "Having a name like Waylan is like having the biggest cock," she said. Or maybe it was B who said that, I don't remember and my notes aren't very clear. :) There is quite a collection of bras on the bar, a recent development. "A while back one of the customers just up and took her bra off, and said she wanted to hang it up. So we did. Then other ladies started doing it," Becky explained. "Now boxer shorts have even started to join the collection." We ended up spending out entire visit chatting with the bartender about their history with the bar. We really enjoyed our time here. In addition to the great personalities, this is a fun-looking bar all around and I'de love to visit again when it's busier. In fact, here's how good a time we had -- when we first arrived we noticed the Silver Strike machine and put a few dollars in it to play. But we never got around to actually doing so! :)

I never should have listened to those who are not fans. My husband got 4 twisteds--2 chicken and one of each of the other flavors. They were all so good. And the fresh fried chips were delicious too. I got the fried swai. My husband is not a fan of fish but he kept stealing bites off my plate, it was that good. The batter was light and crisp. And the portion was huge. I LOVED the honey mustard coleslaw. I'm a slaw snob, and I have high standards. I look forward to eating the slaw again. The garlic Parmesan broccoli was good too. We will be back.

All their food is named after musicians. I had the Hank Williams hamburger, with spicy bacon jam, Cheddar cheese, and a couple of fried onion. The burger was delicious, the bacon jam not overly spicy for me but worked well. Great burger. Came with seasoned fries, also quite good. They brew some of their own beer, which both my friends and I thought they still had a little ways to go to perfect that. I had their Irish Stout which wasn't bad. A little more bitter than Guinness but ok. Definitely great food for a bar, and their craft beer will get there soon. Parking is around back.
