McWard Burger with bacon and fries. The special sauce was delicious!

Great dive bar! Service was great! Friendly and fast. Five starts for a dive bar? Well, yes, because they do it well - great service and great dive bar food. Had their house burger with a bacon add- $10 for the McWard burger and fries and $0.75 for bacon. Who has these prices anymore? Now, it is a dive bar- (did I mention that?) so it isn't the cleanest place. Windows dirty, menus not wiped down. Let's just say it isn't a place for a germaphobe. Huge deck on the back. Might have to put up with cigarette smoke- but hey, this is a dive bar. Decent music. I think they may have bands on some nights. Fries seemed fresh cut- not the typical fries you get. Definitely decent. The burger though- I don't know what they season it with, but it will bring me back. Tasty!!! A burger and fries, add bacon and a couple draft beers and I got out for just under $20 before tip. Wow. In 2022? I'll definitely return because I want to try the tenderloin.

We stopped here after Chiefs training camp with family. Definitely a pub. We picked this place for their BBQ but sadly they did not have any. My husband was looking forward to brisket. We ordered the sampler appetizer to share, fried pickle spears, fried green bean and spicy corn nuggets. They were all good but I think the green beans were the best. I ordered the tenderloin and fries. The fries were super yummy, good seasoning. Tenderloin was okay, barely as big as the bun. My husband ordered the spicy burger and sweet potato fries. The fries were very good. The burger had good flavor and crust but wasn't spicy at all. Just needed a kick to it. Others in our party had nitro wings and the tenderloin. The wings were said to be on point. Waitstaff were super nice and helpful on suggesting what to order.

Delicious local place in St. Joseph, Missouri! I had the Jesse Jane which was a mix of BBQ and coleslaw for a low carb/keto option. Hands down some of the best food I've had in St. Joe!

Well let me start off with the fact they are over an hour away from our home. Considering they have ruined us on any and all other burger and fries, it might become a habit. Husband had the Blackberry Bacon and Blue Cheese Burger. I do not on the norm like blackberries, but on this!!!! The blackberries sweetness stands against the strong overpowering blue cheese and they meld well to make a wonderful tasting combo. I ordered There Goes My Gryo.....how did they get a freaking lamb burger, a very lean meat be that juicy!?!? I dont know but with the peppers, tomato and onion made a fresh hamburger, might be good with some kalamata olive....but I am not complaining. It was delicious. I am picky on my fries and usually dont eat the full amount restaurants serve. I had to stop myself. They are more like a shoestring but not hard or crunchy. Seasoned wonderfully! My suggestion you go in there with a big appetite, grab lots of napkins and be ready to devour the best burger you've ever had!

Placed order within 2-3 minutes of walking in. Sat down at the bar and waited. The place looked well kept and fairly busy for a Thursday afternoon. Meal was ready in less than 10 minutes and it was delicious. I would say that they are higher priced, but the portion size for the price is solid. Personally little heavy for lunch, but I might try something else little lighter next time or just come in for dinner and try a shake because they look good also! What I ordered this time was delicious and I will be back and refer! Thank you!

The pistachio cranberry bread was inspirational--a couple of people said they were going to try to make it. The melted chocolate truffle was amazing, as always. Luckily, that is where the JC Wyatt House comes in. Not only is the food top rate, but the entire experience is amazing. At the JC Wyatt House, you have dinner in an intimate, small dining room inside a Victorian Mansion. Here is how it works. They are only open on Thursday and Friday, 1130am to 1230pm, for lunch and Wednesday thru Saturday, 530pm to 7pm for dinner. Reservations are required and you will choose your main entree for all of your party when you make your reservation. We went for our wedding anniversary and were not disappointed. We arrived a few minutes before our 6pm reservation and were seated. At exactly 6pm, our server, Chris, started with our choice of hors d'oeuvres. Either a potato and fresh vegetable soup, or shrimp cocktail. My wife had the shrimp, and I had the soup. Both were outstanding. For dinner, I had the lamb, and my wife had the filet mignon. Both came with potatoes, carrots and a roll. Again, both meals were outstanding. We finished with a dessert trio that was amazing. Besides the fantastic meal, the service was first class, and the ambiance was really special. This is a must visit for an amazing meal. Call today and get your reservations.

I never should have listened to those who are not fans. My husband got 4 twisteds--2 chicken and one of each of the other flavors. They were all so good. And the fresh fried chips were delicious too. I got the fried swai. My husband is not a fan of fish but he kept stealing bites off my plate, it was that good. The batter was light and crisp. And the portion was huge. I LOVED the honey mustard coleslaw. I'm a slaw snob, and I have high standards. I look forward to eating the slaw again. The garlic Parmesan broccoli was good too. We will be back.

All their food is named after musicians. I had the Hank Williams hamburger, with spicy bacon jam, Cheddar cheese, and a couple of fried onion. The burger was delicious, the bacon jam not overly spicy for me but worked well. Great burger. Came with seasoned fries, also quite good. They brew some of their own beer, which both my friends and I thought they still had a little ways to go to perfect that. I had their Irish Stout which wasn't bad. A little more bitter than Guinness but ok. Definitely great food for a bar, and their craft beer will get there soon. Parking is around back.

When we arrived, however, there were only 2 staff on duty, a bartender and a cook. Nonetheless, the bartender and I moved tables and got ready for up to 15. 18 arrived, and the barkeep added a table. He indicated more than once that NO ONE had prepared him for us or even mentioned our reservation. Service was slow, as you can imagine, food arrived over a period of 30 minutes, and several of our group were unhappy but I detailed the situation to them and mentioned that it was not the bartender/server's fault. the food was good, in almost everyone's estimation. Obviously the cook knew what HE was doing. I tried to get everyone back in there again for about a year before they all said ok, and we scheduled again, 2 or 3 weeks before our visit. when we arrived it was the same story. I asked to speak to the manager or owner, but neither was there. later, I attempted to find the owner's name to discuss this nicely with them, as I have been in business management since 1974, and understand the demands and that owners would always like to know if things aren't right in their absence. After research, I was told the owner listed in the current, 2023, city directory was gone and a new owner had it. In any case, we polled the group and decided to take our group of 16 elsewhere. I noticed we constituted about a 100% increase in lunch attendance from what I saw, and our tab that day at a similar business exceeded $ 225. That's a lot to lose on inefficient communication! I doubt I can convince that gang to try them again, but I liked the food. Maybe I'll get it from Grubhub next time because this is ridiculous. If you have more than 6 for lunch there, keep moving....
