To start off, the phone call I had with Gary was very professional and respectful. He let me know the cost for the PPI (Pre-Purchase Inspection) and then worked with me and the owner of the car I was looking at. So my old jalopy conked out on 880 in the middle of a Friday night/Saturday morning due to overheating. I was stuck waiting a few hours for a tow, and in the meantime, was searching for mechanics on Yelp who were open on Saturday to have a look at the vehicle. Originally, I had noticed Hi Tech, and kept it on my short list of potential stops. However, I ended up making a spur of the moment decision, and had my poor baby towed to another establishment down the street. A few hours later, I returned to said shop, but they happened to be quite busy, and would not be able to inspect it until Monday. Fortunately, the car was able to cold start, and run long enough to motor a few blocks down to Hi Tech after pouring in a bit of coolant. I was greeted by the owner, Sam. He was very polite, and seemed to know his stuff. He was also kind enough to drop what he was doing to diagnose the problem. Almost immediately, he was able to assess the issue. The radiator was completely busted! As a matter of fact, when attempting to pour in more water or coolant, the majority of it would run off straight to the floor! This would indicate that the damage was rather substantial, and it was a miracle that the motor hadn't completely blown. This especially irked me because I had been patronizing a to be unnamed shop in Milpitas that I thought I knew and trusted for years, but they failed to detect it all this time! Since it was a bit last minute, and Sam didn't happen to have any spare radiators on hand, I had to wait until Monday to have it repaired. When the time finally came around, he was able to complete it on the same day, and my trusty old friend was up and running just like new! He also took the time to inspect all the hoses, sensors, and anything else that might potentially misbehave. Of course, as with any high mileage vehicle, there will always be minor aches and pains to deal with, but all things considered, I am very pleased that she has been so reliable for all these years. Upon removal, Sam showed me what the old radiator looked like, and it was cracked and corroded quite extensively! The utter failure of my old mechanic to notice this made my own engine overheat. I cannot believe that I had been previously driving all the way down to Milpitas, only to have them ultimately screw me over in the end anyhow. Sam is basically a one man operation, but he prefers it that way, so he can provide the best hands on service for you and your vehicle. Sam had been highly recommended so I came in to have a Denali performed the computerized four-wheel alignment done. Not only was the price the most competitive around town, but when I left, I thought the alignment issue persisted. San quickly looked at it again, road tested, rotated all four tires, road tested again and showed me my tires need to be replaced. I had my car stolen from me and luckily it was recovered, but unfortunately they broke the ignition system and they removed the cover to the gas tank in the trunk which caused it to smell of gas. I needed to get my car fixed and running as soon as possible and the first person i contacted to fix it was Hi Tech Auto. Andrew was very understanding and went above and beyond to get my car, which was interoperable at the time, back to his shop and had it running within a couple of hours. Andrew Williams was recommended by my honest mechanic to address my transmission problems on my 2000 Lincoln LS. Andrew explained everything to me, and when he called me later, gave me options. Ultimately, he needed to keep my car for several days while waiting for a new transmission to arrive, install, then troubleshoot some other issues. I picked up my beautiful, freshly washed, LS this morning and she runs like the champ she is. My husband went with me to pick the LS up and Andrew showed us the old transmission, and explained the entire repair process, which my husband was familiar with (he works at a government vehicle maintenance facility). THIS guy looks great from the outside but is a RIP OFF ARTIST!!! I came in with a perfect running car barely 5 years old for a smog check for dmv registration and he ran it in such a way that triggered the speed sensor go off , * he was already concerned that i should plan on spending 500 dollars for diagnosis , I looked up the code that came up for my car and it was a common problem if someone accelerates to fast on the smog test , he promised i wouldn't get it to pass just by retesting and guaranteed it . so i went down the street told them what happened at another shop and they said this guy is trying to rip you off! so bam! it PASSED flying colors! this guy is a jerk and he refunded me my 60 after i came back and almost got in a fight with him and he managed to void the refund so i have to go back a 3rd time!!! hes trying to turn a 50 dollar repair into 500! run run run away read more
