This was my first experience with Carstar, and I was extremely satisfied with the results and speed of the delivery of service. Post is a little late due to me trying to find an alternative solution with these guys but they refuse to help in any way and said that things happen when your car is disassembled. Do not take your valued vehicles to Hi-tech Collision in Spanaway!!! I brought my car in to Shane @ Hi-tech early September because I had drove over some curbs. I scratched my front bumper , a rim and some under carriage scrapes. It took a few weeks for the estimate to go through. Shane told me that there was alot of damage and they would have to remove some parts to see the damage. In the process of his "Removal" he destroyed my headlight housing. Ripped the headlight out as you can see in the pictures. The front of the headlight has deep scratches and now I'm having problems with them fogging up and not working right. They are about $700 each. When he removed the fender he possibly threw it in the dumpster or across the shop, I'm not sure. There are chunks missing from the edge of the fender and deep scratches throughout. Shane drilled screws through the fender and trim because he was too impatient or had the lack of knowledge on how to put the car back together correctly. He also removed the passenger door panel and left grease everywhere. On his reassembly of the door panel he forgot to hookup a wire that locks the passenger door. There are missing bolts and screws throughout the car. Its is in so much worse condition from when I brought it to them. I wouldent wish this on anyone . The video I have uploaded is Shane and his manager trying to tell me that they had to use screws because it didnt line back up and there was nothing they could do.. very poor customer service. read more

Recently had my 2016 Corvette ZO6 in for repair at Hi-Tech located in Spanaway, WA; what a great experience. Ron, the manager did an excellent job for us. We received text messages each day with the status of the repair, we also received a photo showing how they covered the car with plastic to make sure the convertible top didn't get dirty while in the shop. I recommend HI-Tech to anyone who expects to be treated with respect; and wants their car to look like new when the repair is complete. read more

Very un-happy. Took my car here because my father had used them multiple times throughout his life. When I took my car in to get driver side damage fixed I came home with new damage. Trim on driver door wasn't seated right so it was no longer flush, my hood to my car came up in the driver side so it no longer sits flush, both corners of my bumper are peeling.... So I take it back in a man named Al walks out looks over it and says we will take care of it. He informs me he will have them REMOVE the bumper and repaint it and see about the hood and trim piece. Dropped car off today. Their loaner is an early 2000's Ford Taurus that idles ruff and wasn't cleaned from the last time it was loaned out. Tank is on E but wants me to bring the car back with same amount of gas it had...... Shortly after dropping the car off Al calls informing me he lied and they aren't gonna remove the bumper like we talked about and repaint the whole thing. He continues that paint department says they can do it without removing the bumper...... Well I explain that I want the service we talked about because that is what should happen not what corner they can cut to do their job. After this experience I will never bring another car to them. You work in the industry you should know that if you don't know what you are talking about you shouldn't offer a service to the customer. read more

We have had our vehicle repaired with Hi-Tech this month, 09-2020. Outstanding people to work with. Our vehicle was finished prior to the date promised. Repairs were great. As an added boost, the car was returned to us cleaner than when we dropped it off. Great job Hi-Tech!! read more

I've only received an estimate from them and will edit this if need be after the work is complete but everyone I have spoke to there has been extremely friendly and helpful. Everyone from the lady who answered the phone when I called to make an appointment, Shane (the employee who made my appointment and did the estimate), to the lady who checked me in when I went in for my appointment. We've spoken with Hi Tech and our car has been delayed, once again. We are tired of the excuses and unhappy.

My insurance company tells me they've sent them the check they can't figure out what's going on and the estimator Jerry seems very uninterested in doing the work and won't even call the insurance company to figure out what's going on on my behalf even when I asked. He keeps telling me that I should take it to a different repair facility because they don't like dealing with liberty mutual. So far he's wasted a month of my time in my truck still damaged. I verified with my insurance company the address of where they mailed the check and it is clearly their address at the body shop. My next call will be to my insurance company read more

I had sent my car to hi-tech it took 3 1/2 weeks to fix my car. My car was on the frame straightener but took longer then they quoted. They had ordered the wrong parts then blamed it on the insurance company. Saying that my insurance ordered the part. When I finally got my car back there was black overspray on the car and overspray where they had done a bad masking job. They instantly took care of the issue. My car had a issue after I got it back they didn't want to resolve the issue until my insurance company got involved. By then I sold the car and got a new one. After getting the car back and driving for a bit, there was an issue we wanted checked out further. We were able to get it right back in, and we had it back quickly with the issue resolved. There was no hassle with paperwork or anything, they treated it like part of the original service which was great. I didn't end up needing it, but they also offered to drive me home after dropping the car off, which was nice considering I'm in north tacoma. read more

So if your interested in getting the job done right the first time this is most definitely not the place for you. I dealt mostly with Jerry, and his whole attitude is this is as good as we can do. I thought they would restore my car back to preaccident condition but I guess I was asking for too much. Had to call insurance company several times to get them to make corrections. Even had to have insurance inspector come out so they would put a OEM bumber on so it would line up with quarter panels. The other issue I had was with the hours. If you work it is basically impossible to pick up your vehicle unless you take the day off. Maybe they could be open half a day on Saturday for the convenience of the customer? But if you want to make four or five trips to Spanaway during the work week and still be dissatisfied this is the place for you!!! read more

Customer service for previous service SUCKS! I had all my past paper work from the car repair done in 2005! aka Warranty!! I was told something must have pulled out the rear panel and broken the clips that hold in the panel....other words I must have done it......some how! Just in it for the $$$$$$ I have brought my car here in the past for repair because I thought they were a good friendly not trying to take your money type of place....guess I was wrong!!! My wife and I had great experiences here both times we visited. We bought a car (2008 Jetta) in April and by June it had been hit two times in two places in two completely unrelated instances. The people at Hi-Tech fixed it both times and restored it to like-new condition. Jerry was the salesman/appraiser for the jobs and both times he was able to do the job for at or slightly less than what my insurance stated it would cost. The guys who work in the back definitely know what they are doing. I was really impressed when two of the guys, Jose and Omar, came out from the back and explained what they did and how when I had questions. I couldn't believe how well the job was done! Both jobs required body panel dis-assembly, replacement, and repainting. Have been and will continue to be a repeat customer if we need body work again. read more

I took my truck in to have the bed replaced and it went down hill from there. Once I got my truck back, the tail lights barley worked, so I asked for my parts back from my other bed but the Representative said "I think they threw them away". Question, did you ever think to call me and ask what I wanted done with my parts? Did anybody do a quality check to make sure that everything worked? Did it ever cross your mind to ask if everything was "OK" after the repair? Obviously not! My tail lights do not work and the truck is now unsafe to drive on public roads, I will go back on Thursday and see if they will remedy this - (doubt they will, probably lame excuses). I would totally recommend Hi-Tech Collision to anybody that would like to be kicked while they're down! Our experience here was a disaster & after coming to pick up the car 4 different times & 2 1/2 months later (yes, it really was 10 weeks!!!), they ended up telling us that "it's as good as it's going to get". Boy, that should probably be their new logo! The 1st time they told us our car was done, the alignment was bad, the bumper was not straight with the fenders or hood, there were still scratches in the paint, new marks were put on an unaffected bumper because they hadn't put the mat over the it while they were working and their hoses left new marks, and the "new" fender had not even been painted to match our car with the crazy thin paint they attempted to use. The 2nd time they told us our car was done, the bumper still was not aligned, the seat belt didn't work, and our check engine light was on. Most places would never even allow a car they're working on to leave their shop with a check engine light on...but not Hi-Tech; even though they had not actually found out why the check engine light was on, they told us that it was not because of the accident and that would be on us. Needless to say, we ran out of time with our rental car from our insurance company after about 6 weeks and the car was still not finished...the estimated date just kept being pushed back further and further. I told them that the only reason why our car wasn't finished was because of their own mistakes and that they should have to get us a rental car; they finally conceded and gave us their horrible donor car. The last time we went to pick up the car, the guy was incredibly rude - after all, they had already been paid by the insurance company as well as our deductible...so I guess customer service was out the window. After having some words (most car guys would have!), we ended up leaving with a scratch on the bumper & still an uneven gap between the bumper, hood, & headlights. Oh, and to really make matters worse, they accused us of not filling up the gas tank on their donor car that they had to give us after the first month and a half when it wasn't finished - I guarantee you the tank wasn't full when I got it and they're lucky I filled it to 1/4, which is where it was when I got it. I'm horrified that any company would allow their employees to treat customers the way an unnamed estimator did. I wouldn't wish this treatment on my worst enemy! read more

I asked for a repair and James at High Tech Collision stated what he wanted to do. Not even asking for my opinion. At the end of the day, It is my vehicle and I am the person paying for the job performed. Carstar-HighTech Collision does not have the best reviews and after the rudeness and arrogance that I received from James, I can understand why . James wanted to do a surface light sand to remove the scratches, and do a light polish. News flash over time polish wears off and the scratches will always return. Removing or damaging the clear coat is not the answer. Why cant business for workable with there customers? Why do they have to be so rude and arrogant? read more

Update: First let me start off by saying im very detailed oriented with high standards and high expectations when it comes to my car. So when the claims adjuster came and looked at my car and wrote up the claim, i went into very excrutiating detail about what the body shop, i choose to take it to, should do and not do to my car. So as it turns out the little "key marks" left over on my trunk were just overspray, and although normally wouldnt be there after the wash and detail, however, i apparently got a half assed wash and detail job on my car, and so they were left there. However i took my car back and they re washed and detailed my car. Everything came right off SO awesome. As for the total lack of communication, well james is the store manager. I specifically asked him why he never got back to me, he replied with he rarely calls people back, because he is to busy and generally has other people call customers for him. I only have one thing to say to that...WTF? In what would is that even remotely acceptable? So instead of dealling directly with claim estimator(their official title excapes me at the moment) who knows the details about what is going on with your car, you are left to deal with a third party in my case the secertary, who knew nothing about my car and had to keep refering back to james. Im sorry but if you get a promotion to manager and can no longer fill the demands held by your prievious position which you still are doing which includes calling customers esp when YOU say you will call them. Than managment made the wrong choice in promoting you, or they are totally screwing you over by not hiring someone else from day one. As far as the spoiler is concerned i was told by james they replaced the vinal on the three sides( my charger has vinal on the back trunk the spoiler and the two rear quarter panals all black). As stated earlier i went into a lot of details about what the shop was supposed to do and not do. so as soon as james told me this i knew it was wrong. But just to double check as soon as i left the shop i called USAA, and they confirmed wehat i knew. ALL the shop was supposed to do was take the old vinal off fix the trunk and put the old vinal back on. HI tech Collision apprently decided to go above and beyond what they were supposed to do and replaced the vinal with brand new ones...All EXCEPT the spoiler. So now i have brand new vinal on three of the sides of the rear car and an old sunweathered faded spoiler...YEAH SMART MOVE ASSHOLES. I dont mind at all that they wanted to go above and beyond but if your going to do it do it right, instead of Replaceing all four sides so everything matches, I got a half assed job just like the detail work. So now my car looks worse then it did going into the shop. I am still very much beyond pissed off. Now I have to buy a new spoiler or see if i can buy new vinal and get it replaced. Hi tech collision thanks for costing me more money to fix your half assed job. Before i couldnt give half stars or i would of just gave a hlaf star however they did wash and detail my car so now they truly deserve the one full star. Bottom line if you care about your car and are detailed oriented about your car and expect to be kept informed every step of the way. DONT take it to hi tech collision and esp dont have james. ONE FULL STAR is what you deserve read more
