Setting up the appointment for a free inspection was easy and Ray showed up on time and performed a thorough inspection. Ray was very friendly and professional. He walked us through the problem areas that he found from his inspection. Ray provided us with a quote and explained their process using microwave and/or chemical treatments for each area. He was extremely polite and there was no pressure to sign up for the treatment We were impressed with Hi Tech's approach and competitive quote and made an appointment to have the local treatment. No tent, no bagging anything, no moving to a hotel for a few days! Frank arrived on time on the day the house was treated. Frank was friendly and professional and respectful of our home. He wore outer shoe coverings to protect the floor. Frank went up in our attic and spayed a solution to prevent termites and then followed up with the microwave treatment in part of the house, patio area and the garage . Small holes made to inject chemical treatment were filled in. After Frank was done, he provided us with the invoice and explained that we have a three year warranty against termites! This is better than provided by most tenting fumigation companies. Hi Tech also offered us an option to renew our warranty yearly for a little over $300. RAY and his team are AMAZING! Ray came to our home himself and did a free estimate in just an hour. He sent us a quote and even gave us a little break with the price! He was ultra friendly and lovely conversation! A couple days later his tech Frank came to our home. He was super fast and very diligent treating many sections of our home with a solution that allowed my family and even dog to stay in the house and go about our business. The manager, Ray, thoroughly checked out the house and showed me that there was termite infestation on all sides and on top, requiring wood replacement. There was no charge for his inspection. I was given a very fair price, especially since Hector and Juan have done such good, professional and clean work. i called this company for a termite inspection so i would know how prevalent the termites are since we are seeing them on the outside by the balcony. The person who was scheduling the inspection says that if they inspect only where I see the termites then it is free. If they need to inspect the whole house, I have to pay $550 for the inspection! I informed her that all the termite companies, big or small, inspect the whole house for free. Besides, it is crazy to inspect ONLY THE PLACE WHERE YOU ALREADY KINOW THE termites are. What about the places where we don't know because it hasn't been inspected? That is sheer stupidity to inspect only where you already know they are and then charge to inspect so you can see the extent of the activity! How do you know if you need localized treatment, you have to go ahead and tent or treat the whole house? This company seriously needs to reevaluate their business practices and get with the industry standards. Preposterous business model! read more

High-Tech is thorough which is absolutely crucial when it comes to pest eradication. The dreaded termite inspection. Even though most homes in California have termite problem at some point, it's something we just don't want to deal with until it becomes problematic. Main reason is the inconvenience of toxic fumes or having to tent the whole house. Luckily, techniques have improved these days and there are non-toxic ways to treat for termites without having to tent the whole house. This is one of those places. I did contact another company that uses orange oil and other non-toxic method, but their quote was extremely high. When the estimator for this place came out, he looked at the markings from the other company and said I only need to treat about third of what the other company thought needed to be treated. As a result, the price was way lower. The estimator gave me some tips on how to inspect for termites myself and even provided instruction on how I can do the treatment on my own, if I want to save money. What a nice guy. Even with the instruction, treating for termites isn't something I would want to try on my own. Just for honesty and being helpful, I decided to go with this company instead of calling for more quotes from other companies. read more

READ THIS! Proven to work! About 12 years ago, we had Hi-Tech treat our home. Thereafter, Hi-Tech came each year to maintain our home. After living in our home for 9 years, we sold our home and purchased another home in the same area. The sellers of our new home also had a termite maintenance plan, but they used Orkin. We hired a different firm (McKernan) for the inspection of our new home, and McKernan was also hired by the buyer to inspect the home we sold. McKernan found no termites at the home we sold, and no tenting was recommended. However, at our new home, McKernan found termites and dry rot, and he recommended tenting, new wood and other work. When the sellers found out, they had Orkin over to inspect. Orkin actually said more work needed to be done than McKernan recommended. The sellers only had the work done that was recommended by McKernan. 6 years later, we finally had Hi-Tech come to our new home. Hi-Tech found no termites or other problems, but recommended preventive treatment. Of course, we had Hi-Tech do the preventive treatment. Not only did Hi-Tech take care of our previous home and save us a lot of money when it was sold, but Orkin was obviously wrong when it said more work was needed to be done by the sellers of our new home. This review is for a job done at my house on April 2019 (better late than never). I contacted 3 different termite companies and found Ray Wurm to be honest and thorough with his inspection. Their rate was better than the rest considering they did our whole house. After signing the contract, we scheduled the treatment. I have never heard of subterranean termites from any of my friends so it freaked me out when I saw these disgusting creatures crawling on my kitchen floor! Ray explained to us the source of the termites and Frank did the tedious job of drilling on concrete around the perimeter of the house and injecting the treatment solution. I have been doing business with Hi Tech for several years. I interviewed 10's of companies before going with them. Ray Wurm came out and inspected and was more thorough than all the other companies combined. And also, they were more reasonable! I did not want a full tent job (which by law all companies have to recommend to the customer...some lobby the fumigation industry must have!) but we were able to treat areas that needed attention with thermidor and it was not necessary to tent the house (and ruin my tile roof in the process). Everyone at Hi Tech has been terrific: from Charity in the office, to Frank who responds to our maintenance requests, and highly qualified in his own right; and Ray (who still does my yearly inspections and is not just incredibly good at his job, but a real decent human being as well.)
