It's been a few months since I last received a nail service, so I decided to try out a new salon that is closer to home. Parking was easy since the salon is located in Lakewood Towne Center, which offers plenty of parking and is also easily accessible by public transportation. I called earlier in the week to schedule an appointment for Saturday at 9:30AM. The doors were actually open a few minutes before my appointment, but I waited until exactly 9:30AM to walk into the shop. The shop is quite small, but it wasn't crowded. There were three people, including myself, getting pedicures at the same time, and one person getting a manicure. There were still staff available if any other customers came in. I requested a French pedicure and was impressed with the results! It was my first time getting a French pedicure, and I'm very pleased with how it turned out. I'm usually a bit concerned about pedicures because my feet are sensitive and I've been nicked on my toenails a few times at other salons. My total was $57.50 before tip for the pedicure. I'm not entirely sure what type of pedicure I received since I only specified that I wanted a French pedicure with gel polish. I did receive a scrub, oil, wax, and a massage on my feet. read more

The staff is always friendly and welcoming. Even when they are constantly slammed. Also definitely seems to be packed just as quickly as they open, but I know it's because they are worth the wait. My nails always end up what I want or close enough, and the vibe is always good even when you're waiting for a min! I just don't suggest coming here in a hurry. My nail artist understood the shape, length, and design I wanted. She took her time perfecting the shape of my nails and ensuring evenness as she went. She checked in often to make sure I was happy with the results. If you like the nails, I asked for encapsulated flowers (three different colors) for accent nails, and pearl shimmer on nude pink nails for the rest of the hand. Almond shape. Short enough to type on a keyboard comfortably. For my Gel pedicure, she took time to trim my cuticles, shape the nails if/when needed, callus removal, lotion, sugar scrub, stone massage, and ended with a hot wax treatment. Happy to return here again for my next appointment! Friendly staff and happy customers. The full set gel mani cost me $75. The gel pedicure was $50. Manicure done by Dang and pedicure by Jamie. The place seems to get packed easily (I went Friday midday), so I advise booking an appointment day before or morning of. I tipped 20%. read more

I haven't had acrylics in awhile so I was hesitant with the length of my nails... and I wish I took some pictures of my nails from the wedding but they nailed the ombre white! Negative stars!! Overcharged me for mid ass nails, they never are attentive and are always busy taking calls and scheduling appointments. I always give people the benefit of the doubt and not even an hour after they were done, my pinky nail broke off. I had a flight the same day and was not able to get it fixed, I called the next day and they said they would redo it once im back from vacation free of charge and they even asked me to send a picture. I came back the next week and they were giving me attitude and talking shit about me in front of me. They were so lazy to even match the color of my one nail with the rest. She offered to add a different color but said I would have to pay for the rest but the pinky would be free. I refused as I overpaid for these nails to begin with and received shitty service overall. As I was about to leave she asked me if I was going to pay for the one nail. I told her that I called and was told it would be fixed for free and that It broke and hour after getting it done and she kept saying it was my fault and i hit something like really???? I hit something so hard that a nail came off even though i just got it done an hour after? Obviously the application was wrong because they aren't attentive. They then had the audacity to overcharge me for one nail. Why ask me to send a picture of my broken nail if I would have to pay for it anyway? they are scammers, they rush your service and talk shit behind your back. These people are not professionals it starts out good however, I don't want a nail tech that has an attitude because I want my nails ombre, the Tk guy or Tp was saying oh I hate this I hate ombré well why do you offer the service, just terrible and unprofessional. The old lady in chair number 3 messed my nail up and literally started yelling at me. I had to calmly let her know to not speak to me like that they literally have attitude because I want my shape right. Once the Tp said if your happy I'm happy if you leave and your not happy I'm still happy. I laughed it off and after leaving was like what! I had the nerve to return because a nail broke in 5 days. I was going to come in the next a.m. to get a fill but I was like I'm not paying these people almost 150 a week so I told the old lady I was going to call and rescheduled. I made an appointment with hi-tek nails for the following day, to get my nails removed and a full set redone (praying that they'd do a better job). I sat down with TK and he was completely understanding of the issues I had with my existing manicure. He removed them for me. He then gave me a new full set. With all the wedding stress, it was so comforting to sit down with someone who truly cared about customer service. He was checking his work the whole time, making sure I was happy. They did a great job with my 3 year olds nails and the guy that worked on my Nails (I think it was TK) did a phenomenal job! Best set I've had, EVER! He worked to perfection and his work shows! This is still one of my favorite go to places. I always leave happy, satisfied and loving my pedi or nail work. They get pretty busy at times so you may have to wait a little or add your name to the time slots and come back. I usually don't mind doing that but I do try to go early morning right when they open because even then there's people thinking the same thing as I am. If I do have to wait a bit, I add my name to the time slot and go eat or shopping in the shopping center since there's lots to do around there. You can call to make an appointment as well. They have lots of colors to choose from. If there's a design or colors I want I usually just show them a picture on my phone and it's done. read more

Just moved here from California and it's been difficult to find my go-to place here in Washington. But I'm SOO happy to have found this place in Lakewood Towne center only 5 mins away from my home. I always find my nail inspos on Pinterest and they never fail to exceed! Love this place so much! TK and his partner (don't remember his name) but they usually always sit next to each other always do an amazing job! I would definitely recommend making appointments and also they usually won't take you in if you're late to your appointments. Which is understandable that's what apts are for :) Only con is it isn't the cleanest salon and I really wish they'd use plastic bags in the pedicure chairs like most other salons. I've been going here for over a year now and I always love how my nails turn out. Also the staff are nice which is always a plus.

I've been going to Hi Tek Nails in the Lakewood Towne Center for about 7 or 8 years now, every 2-3 weeks. They have definitely increased in popularity over that time for good reason, because although they appear at first glance to be just another nail place, their work by far sets them apart. Recently they have added to their nail techs, and I'm hoping that they will live up to the quality of work that TK has provided for many years. So far, I have had the newest male tech do my fill on my last two appointments, and he did a nice job, although I did need to correct a few things I didn't like, he was able to make the revision I asked for even though he didn't agree. My only concern is that quality doesn't end up shorted in lieu of speed when they are very busy, because for a $50 gel fill I will always speak up if it's not turning out as I like. Also, they have only 1 box of sample color wheels, and 2 trips ago, I was selecting my color and in the process of asking some questions about a particular color and making it chrome toned, the newest female nail tech jumped into the conversation I was having with TK (which was fine), to answer my question. Her tone came off as rather condescending though, which I didn't appreciate, considering it wasn't a question directed at her to begin with. She came up to me right afterward and told me she needed the color wheel I was currently looking at, for someone else, and when she brought it back to me, she just tossed it back into the box beside me stating "here", and walked away, rather than just handing it back to me. It may have been unintentional, but the entire interaction with her came off very rude, especially considering I'm on a first name basis with others and am use to more friendly interactions. I'm optimistic that the newer people will become just as good as TK though, once they get into the swing of things fully. read more

Got this pedicure and they do a really good job all the time but the lady kept looking at me like I was a weird and she was doing them and I was trying to just be normal but sometimes something hurt and I was too afraid to tell her. Then when I went to pay it was five dollars more than what I thought so I could only afford it took them two dollars and you're not required to tip but that's all I had and after I paid the guy said something to another lady who was working about how I only took two dollars and they made me really mad because that's all I had. I don't remember the name of my tech since I've only been there twice but was glad to have him again to do my fill today. I showed him a tortoise shell design I had wanted and he was honest enough to let me know he never has done it before but gave it a shot! After his attempt, we were crazy satisfied with the outcome and laughed it off while getting other people's attention.
