So, unfortunately I have covid and was trying to avoid contact, I needed groceries. So I used the online order/pick up. For starters, several items that I ordered were not in stock even though they said in stock online. Then when I got home my kids started unloading bags and I realized that they gave me someone else's order. I called them and at first they were going to get my order ready so I can come all the way back and pick it up. Then I get a call from a guy pretty much interrogating me saying their employee handed me some of my order, a hot item. Well, no I didn't receive it. The only thing exchanged was the 5$ tip my daughter gave the guy that brought out our groceries. He was basically calling me a liar. It's now 4:15 and I don't know if I will be getting my groceries or not. I understand mistakes happen, however I'm super disappointed in how this man called me and told me that I received items that I didn't. I hope there are cameras there so they can see what was put into my car. Edited- I finally got to pick up my groceries, they called and apologized.

I had one of the most humiliating things happen to me yesterday. A Safeway employee confronted me…read moreat my vehicle in their parking lot accusing me of not paying for my items. Even after I gave her my receipt, without reading my receipt she accused me a second time of NOT paying. Then after she read my receipt, she said "oh, have a nice day" and walked away. NO APOLOGY, NOTHING! This is not the only run-in I've had with this cashier, who's worked at this location for many, many years. About two weeks ago I was at self check-out paying for mine and my 85 year old neighbors things, that combined was 13 items. This same individual snidely approached me and stated how this was 15 items or less. I verbally counted in front of her 1, 2, 3, 4, 5........13. She just walked away. I'm a retired banker of 45 years, who always prided myself on customer service and like to carry myself in a pleasant, upbeat manner. I was well dressed today and actually received several compliments on what I was wearing, which was a maxi sun dress with a long shrug my sister bought me. So its not like I was in my pajamas carrying a backpack, looking suspicious. I frequently tell whoevers waiting on me that I'm appreciative for them being there, cause I know how CRAZY that line of work can be. As a loyal and faithful Safeway customer my whole adult life, I find this individual excessively inappropriate on so many levels.

If you need beach essentials and don't feel like heading another 5 miles down the road, then this is the place to stop in. The store carries an array of items such as: flip flops, floaties, sunblock, fishing supplies, picnic snacks, cold drinks, ice, toiletries, etc. Also great if you want to pickup some ice cream to cool off. I really love the all natural fruit bars that don't contain artificial colors or flavors...super yummy! The store is small, but well stocked and is perfect if you don't feel like driving 30 minutes to Ukiah or the opposite way towards Lakeport (the nearest convenience store is about 5 miles away). Street parking is available on Irvine Avenue or in their lot. In stock: Ice, cold drinks, soda, eggs, Clover milk & cheese, beer, wine, ice cream, snacks, fishing supplies, etc. **Sometimes they serve fresh burritos and tacos which are super fresh and yummy.**

Lunch (can of chili, corn chips, cheese and hot sauce to make your own nachos, or buy a pre made sandwich) and dinner (hot dogs, buns and a popsicle for dessert) and a midnight snack (pork rinds!) plus all the beer and wine that your heart desires. You can also get bait and fishing gear which will always earn extra stars from me.

My husband and I are a biracial Asian-White household that primarily cooks Hmong meals. We are new-ish to the area and were thrilled with the prospect of having an Asian "market" in close proximity to our home. We stopped by with a short shopping list (galangal, shrimp paste, vermicelli noodles, and whatever other things presented themselves when we got there). Upon arrival, we entered the market and were nearly shocked that it is considered a market. The shelves are practically empty with only 1 or 2 of any item, a very limited selection of sauce/dry goods, and extremely limited non-food supplies. Honestly, my home pantry has more food, resources, and supplies than what is available here. There seemed to be some sort of food you could order, but we didn't explore. Additionally, there is a tiny freezer with a small amount of frozen prepared food and no fresh or froze vegetables for Asian cooking. It is pretty unlikely that we will return and will venture further to purchase the items that we need.

I decided to drive over to the market to look for some curry meal kits I had heard they were selling. I also wanted to see if they had thai basil so I could make some PHO. Unfortunately, they had neither. Currently growing some Thai basil but nowhere near ready to use they told me. The man working asked me if I had ever used Star Anise. I said, no and he took a bag off the shelf that had rows and rows of spices and let me smell the one he grabbed. It smelled a lot like Thai basil. He filled a small baggie up and handed to me as I was reaching for my wallet. He said take it and let me know how u like it! So unexpected!! Really thought this was so sweet of him and now I can't wait to go back and see what else they have and start cooking!! Update: just used star anise in my PHO and I can't get over how good it taste in my soup! Thank you thai market for the suggestion!
