They had Cousin Eddie's regular sauce, which is a little sweet and is marketed as a "use on anything" type of sauce. Meaning used as a BBQ sauce, additive to bake goods, wings, etc.. The regular sauce is okay, I need a little more heat. Good news is they also have a XXX and Diablo sauces. Diablo being the hottest and it does have some significant heat. The XXX and Diablo sauces have Carolina Reaper peppers in it. The Diablo has more heat. The ladies at the booth were quick to state they are not a novelty hot sauce. The Diablo sauce is very good. It has the heat for me. XXX sauce is a good middle of the road hot sauce. I paid $7 for a 5oz bottle of the Diablo sauce. Not a great value but I like supporting local companies. The regular sauce is cheaper. I did appreciate they fact that they took Apple Pay at the booth. You can order Cousin Eddie's online (see website for the vendor details). They do bring in some items not local like oranges and limes, but most of it is local or regional. Selection is decent, not great. Prices are very reasonable. There I fell in love with a lemon balsamic vinegar and had ordered offline from that store but then i found Midtown! I love that you can sample the oils and vinegars before getting them. All the associates I have worked with have been very knowledgeable about the products and have eagerly made suggestions when i was looking for something specific or different. The Sicilian lemon balsamic is my default and i always have it on hand. I use it as a salad dressing on its own - no need to mix with oil. It's perfect on chopped tomatoes, onions and cucumber. Hell, I can even take a shot of the stuff. It's that good. Go get some! And try out some of the other good stuff while you're there.
