I did it to myself again, wandering into another Chinese buffet because I just can't seem to resist them, but at least Hibachi Buffet in Lakeland made the choice feel worthwhile. The dining room was clean and well stocked when I arrived around 1:30pm, and I managed to keep my lunch mostly focused on proteins while still sampling a bit of everything. Several steam tables were full and turning over nicely, and the sushi display was better than I expected for a weekday afternoon. I visited Hibachi Buffet recently and had pretty mixed feelings about the experience. The food was actually good, with a decent variety and some flavorful options, especially from the hibachi area. On top of that, the service was immaculate. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made sure everything at the table was handled quickly and professionally. Unfortunately, the bathrooms completely ruined the experience for me. They were utterly disgusting and honestly looked like they hadn't been properly cleaned in a long time. For a restaurant serving large amounts of food daily, restroom cleanliness should be a priority, and this felt like a serious health concern. We have never had a bad experience at this restaurant we've been coming for about a year and a half and the food is very good and fresh. Our waitress Tammy is amazing. We had other waitresses, but we always use Tammy now I'm good honey. Vanessa is very friendly. She's a greeter when you first come into the restaurant and it takes you to your seat. Great personality perfect for her position. Tammy is very attentive and pretty much takes care of you all through your dinner. The food is very good and is always switched and refilled. Their Lobster is great and so is your Seafood and Crab don't miss this place it's a definite go to. read more

Visited here this past week while out shopping and we went midday . About 2:00pm. Price was set at 16.99 for lunch. It was a Saturday so busier than normal. The food we had was pretty good . Our server made sure to come by often. I didn't take any pictures. We did enjoy our lunch. The only reason it doesn't have 5 stars is because the outside of the business was littered with some trash and we were approached by homeless people. Going in and coming out in the parking lot. And the high set price on Saturdays. There was no crab legs or anything like that so I'm not sure of the reason for the price increase. I don't understand the mentality of charging more on Saturdays. You would think you would lower the price to attract more customers. Everything has gone up in price but the same food shouldn't cost most just because it's a Saturday. The WORST chinese food we have ever tasted. At 11:15am Food was mostly cold with an old fridge smell taste to the food. There were parts of the food tables that had a very BAD odor. Gen Tao's chicken was hard as a rock. As was the chicken on a skewer, butter shrimp was COLD, beef with broccoli had a blue tint to it, hot sour soup terrible, pork fried rice had a liquid to it and pork was like bullets. The utensils were STICKY. There were no plastic gloves to place on hands for picking up the Serving spoons, NO alcohol hand sanitizer. Saturday me and my 6 year old son yes 6!! Went to eat here . The hostess accused me and told me my child was too big to be 6 not only to she say it to me but to my child as well . My son if very upset about this incident r he looked at her and said I'm 6 my birthday is may 23rd . I visited Lakeland today and decided to eat at Hibachi Buffet for lunch. Their food selection was good. The place was reasonably clean. However, the seating hostess looked like she didn't enjoy her job. I saw her laugh a little while talking with another customer. Another employee eagerly took my money before I finished putting the cash in the tray (I avoided using my bankcard so I wasn't overcharged). Usually, I don't tip at buffets because I'm getting my own food. However, I made an exception with one employee who regularly removed my dirty dishes and got me a refill of water. One kid screamed the entire time right in my wife's and my face the Mexican family did nothing then the kid he must have been maybe 5 or 6 took his shoes off and took his bare feet and started putting them on the tabletop I looked at my wife and said let's get the hell out of here. They had the A/C turned way down and it was pretty warm in the place. I asked my wife to go outside as I talked to the woman behind the desk and I told the woman how disgusted I was to go through that at a restaurant on a Night out with my wife. her response was wow that was pretty disrespectful of that family to allow their kids to do that. what got me was there was an adult setting with the kids and did nothing to stop him. so, to wrap it all up we ate less than a plate of food and it cost us $39.12 for that plate with a barefoot kid screaming in our faces as he put his dirty feet all over the top of the table. I went with my husband yesterday, the food was cold and the salads and seafood hot. the sushi is sitting there all day when I went to serve myself it was glued to the plates. the salmon looked dark and dry. apparently the Ac went down while we were there so without letting the customers know, they opened the doors and flies were all in my face as We ate. I cant believe it!!! This place was so good the first weeks. The best part was the thirsty lady that seats people, she has no respect for married couples, she was very disrespectful and should not be employed there.
