Went there Saturday afternoon with my husband the food was good. I only get a few things and the sweet tea.

What is this peanut butter glue attaching the rail to the wall
    David R.

The food was good same with service they gave you your drinks before you could even sit down and they were nice. But the place was a mess. There were roaches all around the restaurant how is this place even open? And the glue that is holding the railing in the bathrooms looks like peanut butter. And do not look that good and feel like they are about to just fall off.

This place was just gross. Cold tasteless food, and HORRIBLE service. Avoid this place at all costs.

The food was horrible, the staff unhelpful and indifferent, and atmosphere of a school lunch room. We will not be returning.

Service is always great with the waiter/waitresses always being playful and friendly, though I don't recommend sitting in the back room; it has a funny smell. For the food, you always get free delicious bread with their specialty butter that is good enough to eat by the spoonful. Harry's may be known for their seafood but they can do it all; Land (steak medallions are perfectly seasoned and cooked to your liking), Sea (incredible Shrimp and Grits with the sweet corn grits being a real knockout), and Air (Chicken Jolie Blonde is phenomenal! This dish is served on their famous grits cake smothered in a Parmesan sauce.) Trust me me and always order the Grits Cake as a side! Ended the meal with their Oreo Beignets, another "must get" dish!

If you are in the Lakeland area and you are hungry then this should be your first choice. We had "Sean" as our server and he was beyond outstanding. He was very attentive and very friendly and he took time to inform us about the specials, most popular items and was able to make suggestions based on our wants. We started with a dozen grilled oysters, half cajun butter and half garlic butter. They were very delicious. They were tasty, fresh and a nice size. My wife went with the grilled wild caught salmon which was described as the wagyu of the sea. And she said it was the best salmon she has ever had. I went with the pick two combo which included catfish, shrimp and cod. And I know that's three but instead of two pieces of catfish, I got one and two piece pieces of cod. My sides were hush puppies and red beans and rice. Let me tell you first of all it was a lot of food, everything was absolutely delicious. But the red beans and rice were amazing, plenty of flavor. And the sweet tea was excellent. We were to full from dessert but we will try some next time. We also met a manager and the owner and they were both very personable and friendly. They both acted like regular people and they both made us feel welcomed. Lastly we sat outside because we had our service animals with us and they also took very good care of them. They provided cold bowls of water and we order a chicken breast for them. Which they cut up in small pieces and provided them with to go bowls for them to eat out of. We live in Tampa which is about 1 hour away but our experience here was worth the drive. It is in a nice area with shops and stores. Definitely try this business if your in the area

Service was friendly and good. Southern charm feeling. We ordered 3 meals. Sea Bass, Redfish and Pick 2 with fish and shrimp. I had the redfish blackened and it was super flavorful with a kick. The crawfish sauce was excellent with 2 big shrimp on top. Everything was cooked well. The green beans on the side were nice and fresh. Rice was great to get that extra sauce. Wife had the Seabass and it was delicious as well. Great portion with a very tasty chimichurri sauce. I will try that next time as it was a hit. Green beans and potatoes on the side. Kid had the pick 2 and it was also very good. I actually liked the coleslaw. It was not mayo based and had a great taste. I ate it all! To start we had the fried pickles. Huge portion. Pickles were a nice thin slice with a seasoned coating. One of the better fried pickles we have had. Fighting for that last piece. Convenient location in an outdoor mall. Plenty of parking and can take a stroll after eating. Highly recommend this place!

The workers were extremely welcoming and they even greeted us with a complimentary dry champagne because it was our first visit. Nate our server was very attentive and knowledgeable. The maitre'd Neal checked on us as well and that made us feel even more at home. I ate the eggs benedict and it's a nice twist using jamón ibérico and melt in your mouth biscuit. My boyfriend ate the prime rib that had a dry rub and made specifically only for brunch which he said was divine. We can't wait to come back and checkout what more they have to offer. If you're ever in the Lakeland area definitely be sure to give them a shot!

Not knowing what to expect, we made reservations and were greeted with pleasantries, immediately seated, and welcomed. The octopus was smoky and tender. Just right-at least that's what little red riding hood said . I don't remember much else because food kept coming and I kept eating. We had the best service that night and the owner came and spoke with us. He told us the reason behind the name which is when his family came to the US. Fast-forward to July 2, 2026, I visited Lakeland, to see my mom who lives there. The hotel happened to be down the block from Nineteen61. My mom's appetite had waned. I was concerned but knew if she got what she wanted it would help her to regain her appetite. She wanted an entire snapper. Not many restaurants serve the whole fish (head and all). I called and, what do you know, they serve deep-fried yellowtail snapper. The whole fish. Reservations for 8:30pm the same night and we arrived at 8:10 p and were immediately seated. I had the miso salmon, hubby had the rack of lamb, and mom got her fish. We added ripe plantains and started with the calamari. It was not bready. Just the right amount of dusting for a crunchy texture. But the sauce was tangy and sweet-so good. Oh, the salad-nix the cheese. The dressing is amazing. My husband ordered the Riesling, and I got the moscato. Mom went with a strawberry daiquiri. Here is where things get interesting. We are sweet wine drinkers and the Rieslings we are used to are sweet. This was dry. So the server gave him a taste of the moscato and he went with that. I don't know what they do with wine when you send it back-so I opted to keep the glass of Riesling and mix it with my Moscato. I cannot explain the result. Suffice to say we both enjoyed the mixture. The restaurant was busy. That is always a good problem to have. The servers and bus teams worked swiftly and maneuvered among the diners, crisscrossing through the ravines created by the tables with finesse. We received a ample attention and we needed it-adding and asking for condiments to which they supplied. The bar was amptly stocked and the decor inside the restaurant captures the history. What was more appealing was the size of the restaurant made it feel like you were dining in your own private nook. Yes, I would return to Nineteen61 again and again. Worth it!

There's a whole hour left until closing, they stop seating at 9:30Pm and close at 10pm. We decided to take our food to go due to me and my fiancé not feeling welcomed. We got our drinks, we ordered water and it tastes like it came from the sink, how can water taste so gross. The other staff lady who was straight up nasty to us was a more bigger set lady, she has blonde hair and a bun. She stood behind the bar tonight, but how can you hire someone who has a nasty attitude. Restaurant setting was nice as usual with sports on and country music. Food is always good but We will not be returning :( The one star is cause the food is atleast great but do NOT recommend dining in!
