Do not go to the Mr and Mrs Crab location in Lakeland, Fl at Lakeside Village. The manager and her kitchen staff refused to own up to their mistake with our food order. My 10 year old ordered no spice boil. They brought him a spicy one. Once my son was done removing mussels from shell, he started to eat and immediately said it was spicy. I told the waitress and took to the back. The manager had her bring the food back with 2 small containers of butter and said the food was correct and the no spice had some spice and for us to put butter on it to tone down the spice. We tried it and tried to force himself to eat it. I told the waitress that it was still spicy. My son then said that he just couldn't eat it. The manager then came with a container of non spicy sauce to pour over the mussels that were spicy. I told her we didnt want it and I wasn't paying for his food. She refused to remake his food, so I refused to pay. She called 911 on me because I told her I wasn't paying for his food! I couldn't believe she went to that extent to force me to pay for their mistake. My son started to worry so I paid for our food and left. We have been there various times and my son has always ordered no spice and never had this problem. Sadly my son and I left hungry and still paid. We will never go back again. This was my first time going to a Mr. and Mrs. crab restaurant. I've heard so many mixed reviews and to say the least it was a very nice time for the first time it is a bit expensive but the crab was really good and I got full really fast probably due to the fact that seafood is salty, but the environment was really nice and the decorations. Our server gave us a gift from Mr. and Mrs. Krabs, which was a Christmas ornament, which I thought was very nice. our server was quick and the food came out quick. read more

Very satisfied! The server did tell us that the spice is a little spicier than most places so I ordered on the side of caution. But it really wasn't spicy and I wish I had ordered mild, at least. Anyway the seafood boil bags were so good! One thing that separates this place from other seafood boils is that they unwrap the bags for you and bring you a discard bucket. Our server was the best! First time visiting and pleasantly surprised. The presentation is unique and is quite special. We had raw oysters and they were presented beautifully and very tasty. The blue crab boil was nice and spice level was good (we had medium). One complaint is that the corn was obviously frozen and had a soapy texture. My family & I recently enjoyed the seafood boils that contain snow crab legs, shrimp, potatoes, & corn. We had different seasoning blends and they were all tasty. We were looking forward to going here since we've visited the one in Tampa and had a wonderful experience. On Friday night around 9 pm we arrived and it didn't look crazy busy. As we were standing waiting to be seated and looked around we were very impressed. That's about where the good experience ended. They took us to the left and then behind the hostess station and continued to the back. They passed numerous booths that would have comfortably seated the four of us. We ended up literally all the way in the back. That room was packed with only two available booths. They seated us as far back as you can go. After that it was awhile before we saw our waitress. We were told that she'd be in soon because she was cashing a big party out, That big party took up the entire rest of the room we were sitting in. There were so many people and a hoard of out of control little kids running amok and pouncing on the back of the seats. Granted that is on the parents failing to control their offspring but it still did not make for an enjoyable dining experience. They were extremely loud and out of control! Manager should have been attentive towards what was going on in their dining room and made efforts to bring a sense of peace and order to the other patrons giving their money to this establishment for dinner.. nothing was done. . I don't understand why they seated us there when there was plenty of space elsewhere. The party remained there for about another hour. We ordered our drinks and the non alcoholic drinks came out fairly quickly and when those came out one was wrong. They fixed it right away and they were delicious. We ordered our food which basically consisted of two fish and chips, a kids meal and a crab and shrimp boil. I was told the fish pretty much tasted a step above Gorton's that you buy at the supermarket. Nothing great. The sweet potato fries were good. French fries were a large portion but again nothing special. My son got chicken nuggets and fries. Didn't like the fries but asked for more chicken nuggets. We ordered extra and got to try them and they were really good. Probably the best item of the night.... Let that sink in.. we went to a crab boil restaurant.. and the BEST thing of the entire $200+ meal was some chicken nuggets ... just read that again and let that sink in. The crab boil tasted good, the potatoes were done perfect and the shrimp was also. The crab was overcooked by a lot. The meat was nothing but mush! We didn't see our waitress for a while so I was eating the mushy crab ( because I was only there for the crab). When the waitress finally got there and asked us how everything was I told her about the crabs and she said that the cooks probably tied the bag off allowing the crab to continue cooking. She did ask if I wanted her to fix it but I felt that since I had eaten most of them I shouldn't do that plus the fact that I'm always nervous about sending food back after seeing things on TV. We get our check which with a tip, it was over $200. Then a guy walks over and said he was going to gift us a postcard picture of us all. He takes some pics and comes back with the postcard and the other pics framed which of course costs extra. So over all it was not a good experience. When the chicken nuggets are the highlight of a seafood restaurant there is something wrong. I know part of it was my own fault for not allowing it to be fixed but the rest wasn't good either and the standards of the crab cookery in this restaurant should have never been compromised to produce such vile overcooked mush in the crab legs and claws. The others with me have decided very quickly that they will never come back to this restaurant, which is a shame because it seemed quite promising. The hosts need to have significantly better judgement where to seat their guests. The cooks in the back need to be reminded of how to PROPERLY cook crab legs in a restaurant solely based on crab legs. And there needs to be a degree of control over out of control guests disrupting the dining room to such a degree as was experienced. There is nothing else to really add here, the few good things were not what the star of the meal should have been and the whole experience was disgraced by poor work on the staff's behalf. read more

I absolutely loved how committed the business was to the crab theme. You could tell that this place is all about Seafood even from the parking lot with the two large cartoonish crabs in the entryway. I was dining in with a large party and there was a longer wait to be seated. However there was a large waiting area that accommodated all of us. Once seated the service staff was very friendly. I enjoyed the strawberry lemonade Hennessey drink's taste. However you did not taste much alcohol and I drunk it like juice and ended up getting a glass of Yuengling. I started to order the snow crab dish but saw that you get more bang for your buck if you got the meal that included 1/2 snow crab, 1/2 headless shrimp, sausage, 2 potatoes, and 2 corns for just a couple dollars more. The other options only included 1 corn and 1 potato. And heads up...I ordered the mild Mr and Mrs seasoning but everything still tasted spicy. However the crab and everything tasted fresh and pretty good. However for the price I would prefer a different crab place that's more worth it. read more

I really love seafood boils and this place don't miss ' they have all the sides you can think of to make your experience worth it ' drinks are really good and portion size are great for account of inflation and it's seafood period . I suggest getting anything garlic ' there spice levels vary so becareful they get spicy . We came to this location a year ago and it was amazing. We came back on Wednesday and things have changed. The atmosphere is still the same: very clean and friendly. But the food and menu have changed. They used to have combos which included a lobster tail and they do not have that as an option now. If you want to a lobster tail you have to add it on for an extra $18.95 to meals that are already pricey. The food was good but my whole party agreed the flavor was not the same. Why not the 5 stars well maybe it's management and not waitress but drinks were only refilled twice one in beginning and second at almost leaving! My thought is this, if a waitress is already paid gratuity since its included in ticket they do not care to attend to your needs compared to ones they have to work hard for it on others restaurants! I know people abuse that and sometimes they don't leave any but this is result of them being paid before! We paid 52 dollars almost for gratuity and all she did was sit us down took order bring drinks twice only and bring to go bag and ticket everything else is at table! That is where the good ends and the bad begins. What is up with the obnoxiously loud rap music!?! Suitable for the club...not dinner. Fried Calamari was too chewy for my liking. Seafood boil was ok, but definitely not worth the price. And considering that 2 of the 4 of us who dined there came home with rotten, upset stomachs, we won't be back!
