Beautiful hotel and restaurant. We were treated very well. Everything was scrumptious. It's a splurge but at least everything is well done. Ava made it a good experience. It was before any dinner rush as there was no convention being held. I'd imagine the ambiance even better and warmer with more customers. Blown away! Cozy, open concept kitchen with the best service! Our waiter was so friendly and even made my granddaughter comfortable. Ordered the kid's pancake for her but she also wanted eggs. I was going to share mine but the waiter talked me into ordering a separate scrambled egg and I'm glad he did because I ate every bit of my "Feel Good Omelette". It was so GOOD! The mixture of veggies was perfection! They sprinkled some kind of magic salt on top that brought the flavors together. My granddaughter enjoyed her meal so much she kept saying how delicious it all was as she devoured it all. read more

Friday night, we came and stayed at the hotel! We ordered Flatbread, Crab Cakes, & Burnt Ends! 10/10. Amazing. Would come back again. Our server came and gave us micro caesar salads on the house too. Some nice things to say: it's pretty, the restaurant is clean and modern looking and depending on your table you can have a nice view of the water if you look across the hallway where the hotel guests and convention attendees are walking back and forth. The hostess/waitress was very professional. There was no wait, since there was only one other table (of 4) seated at 6:30 on a Friday night. The cocktails were very good. The menu was simple and elegant sounding, and if the food had matched the descriptions in the menu the dinner would have been better. We had the flatbread, sweet potato enchiladas, smashed potatoes and crackling kale. Of those, the kale was by far the best, and coincidently? the closest to the actual description on the menu. It was missing the seeds, the salt from which would have helped the sweetness of the dressing. the flatbread had good flavor, but whatever can they opened for the 'brisket' needed some more time regenerating it's moisture. potatoes were decent. enchilada's were very plain. Some heat from something - but no salt or other spices. The mismatch was what was striking. When reading the menu, it seemed we were going to have a terrific dinner. I went for breakfast. It seems expensive, $30 for breakfast. I had two eggs, two sausage links and biscuits and gravy. Presentation was pretty. Service was ok, not fast for sure. The resturant has an open kitchen and is modern inside. read more

The restaurant constantly amazes me. I stayed again at the hotel and found some new entrees - now some new favorites! For dinner I had scallops served on bucatini. Seasons and seared perfectly, the scallops were delicious. The bucatini was cooked in a pesto sauce, maximizing the shape of the pasta. For lunch, I had the short rib grilled cheese and smoked tomato soup. The sandwich was crispy on the outside and ooey gooey deliciousness on the inside. Service is always great. It did not disappoint. It was AMAZING. Irene, our wait staff at Anchor and Hearth for dinner AND breakfast was absolutely amazing!!! Every single item we ate was absolutely wonderful!!! Hats off to the chef. Phenomenal job having all the different flavors come to life. Our bartenders were awesome and worked with me since I am 6 months pregnant and wanted a mock tail margarita... on top of that, they were funny. Finally found the opportunity to try this relatively new offering in Baytown - notoriously short of good places to eat. I will try not to be overly critical, given my many years of hospitality experience in Australia, and the fact that I am a self-confessed wine and food snob :). First impressions - signage to find the restaurant was lacking, it was almost like trying to find the restroom, and once found, decor looked a bit "food court", but the welcome was friendly, and a nice touch after being seated was the service of a canape of prosciutto and smoked cheddar, before our waiter, George, arrived. Delightful young man, articulate, friendly, knowledgeable, courteous, attentive, without being intrusive. So refreshing to have a waiter who actually knew what he was doing and was not some kid hired off the street who didn't know the difference between a fork and a spoon. The dinner menu is not extensive, but it is certainly interesting. For starters, I had the Blue Crab Baos - delicious, fresh flavors with pickled cucumbers to die for. Mr M chose the Brisket Burnt Ends - beautifully smoked and flavorsome. For main course, I chose the scallops - cooked to perfection, laid on a bed of fried rice, with fresh peas in the shell. Himself had the 1/2 chicken - everything George told us it would be - moist, tender and so delicious. Yay! sous vide Pros: the food was delicious. George (waiter) was great Cons: the service was a little rushed. I had not finished my appetiser before my main course arrived. Waiters should be keeping an eye on their customers and not rush through the service. I would have liked to sit a while longer until the main was served and the Baos are essentially a finger food and not something that can be easily eaten. Chef should have had the timing right on that too - I know once those scallops are cooked they need to be served asap but a little more on timing in the kitchen would be great. This is something I struggle with constantly in Texas - having come from a mostly European-influenced and silver-service restaurant waitstaff training background - where a meal is an adventure, an outing, an experience - not something to be rushed through and over and done within an hour. It's not a night out in Texas - it's arrive, eat, go home. But I digress. The wine list was shallow - not a lot of choice - but I took a chance on an unfamiliar Californian chardonnay which fortunately complemented our dishes. Oh and by the way, even though it was a screw top and not a cork secured wine, I should have been given the opportunity to taste the wine, prior to it being served to both me and my husband as if it was perfectly ok. Another piece of training required to be given to your waitstaff. The meal portions were not huge - about the right size - but given the rush of serving we did not feel we could do dessert, although the Lavendar Lemon cake was calling my name. We will come back and next time perhaps skip the main course, have an appetiser and move straight to dessert! Overall a most enjoyable experience. read more

They have a chicken sandwich for lunch that is to die for. Its a crispy chicken sandwich with pimento cheese and other deliciousness topped on it-no picture because I devoured it. read more

My buddy and I ate here this morning because of the good reviews. We both felt like the food was fantastic. Apparently other people saw the reviews because they were packed. The service was a little slow but we really didn't mind. The food was worth waiting for. It is in the Baytown convention center, inside of the Hilton hotel. It's right on the water so you can see a little bit of bay and the ship channel. At least it's water. Lol. We definitely plan to eat here again. Check out their menu. read more
