If you are comfortable eating food in/from a no-frills, dive-bar like setting, you might want to try it...but most will probably prefer to skip. The parking lot & exterior are pretty worn down in appearance, and the food is mediocre, with prices that are slightly elevated for the area, and a cleaning would really help. The upsides that sides are very affordable, with vegetables priced at $2, you get a LOT of food, and the staff is small, the place is run efficiently, and everyone was friendly. We got this food to go. My friend is a regular and loves this spot. The hibachi was delicious and fresh to order. I was not a huge fan of the rice. I think it was the type of rice they used to make the fried rice. I got a hibachi entree with shrimp and it came with soup and salad. They forgot my soup and I didn't realize it until it was too late. Some of the zucchini was under cooked but the veggies were still tasty. The Yum Yum sauce and ginger salad dressings were some of the best hibachi sauces I've ever had. My friend enjoyed their steak and shrimp rice bowls. It came about to be $40 bucks but it was a good amount of food. I'd definitely come back for that Yum Yum and ginger salad dressing again. read more

Came here on a gloomy day and called ahead to place an order pick up. This place was recommend and in an area where I was headed. It is a unique set up for a hibachi place with just your basics. They were not concerned with appearance. Staff were friendly and there is plenty of parking spaces in the shared lot. Be careful as you drive into this place there are several potholes and a steep incline. They did not get my phone order correct, but I was in a hurry and hungry so I paid and left. The food is a bit salty for my tastebuds. The online prices are not accurate for how much you'll be charged. They may need to update the site. This place is not friendly to dog owners. We had our puppy in his stroller and he was sleep. After ordering, the owner said dogs are not welcome. I told my daughter and her friends I would wait in the car so they could eat. After 20 mins of them sitting there, they asked about their food and the owner had cancelled the order and didn't tell them. I will never visit this place again, how can you be like that towards pet owners and then not have manners enough to tell them ones that did stay and try to eat and be paying customers. This is my go-to for quick Hibachi to-go orders. They give a very generous portion of food for the price. It's in an old Pizza Hut building, so not much on the eyes but does the trick. I got the scallops and steak last time I went and the scallops were fantastic! I live super close, so definitely will be a consistent customer here! read more

For the amount you pay for the food isn't equivalent to the amount you're served. For any changed item on menu you're charged extra for changing. I was served water but there was things floating in my cup. There are boxes everywhere and I organized. I would not recommend dining in or take out. read more

I have to start by saying the reviews I read about this place are very true. The location is HORRIBLE but to be honest anything on Independence has a poor location due to the large median. You are able to reach the restaurant even from outbound Independence but it's inconvenient for sure. The restaurant itself isn't nice. It's actually kind of crappy! The interior and exterior haven't been updated EVER! I honestly should have check the sanitation grade before eating but I had placed a take out order. When I called to place my order I received fantastic service. Due to the lack of online menu I had many questions and the gentleman was patient and kind to me. When I arrived to pick up my meal I once again received notably good service. They didn't charge me for requesting extra sauce. When I got home I realized they have me Hibachi Chicken, not Teriyaki Chicken (unless they use barely any sauce or the sauce is super thin). My meal was still good. I smiled when I saw that they cut their vegetables in zig zags :) thought it was a fun touch. I will note that not just this restaurant but all Japanese style restaurants say your meal comes with a salad but that's a joke!! Just lettuce isn't a salad but at least this place offer more than just Ginger or Ranch dressing. I did note upon arrival that they had a special with Chicken and Shrimp that was only a dollar more and Au wish I had known about it. They really need to post a menu online!!! Overall there is definitely room for improve but they have great service and I would do take out from here again!! read more

Forewarning: If you do not like hole in the wall places don't come here expecting something nice and then give it a low rating based on the appearance! This rating is based on the food and service. I don't think it deserves a low rating just because it's in an old Pizza Hut or that it is difficult to get to because it's in a difficult location. I came here for lunch and the lunch prices are slightly cheaper than dinner. They had a chicken and shrimp special along with some sushi specials. California roll and shrimp tempura roll for $2.99! The grill that the man cooks on is right in the open so you can watch him cook the food. I watched him chop the chicken and veggies right there. I've never seen anyone cut a fresh head of broccoli so fast!! Amazing. The meals come with soup and salad. I got the shrimp and chicken. The rice could be a tad more flavorful but who eats plain rice at a hibachi grill! The shrimp sauce here is in a big squirt bottle and is really good! It's lighter in color and a little on the sweeter side. The shrimp was a big size and the chicken was chopped in smaller pieces so more flavor! The veggies were juicy and fresh although I wish there was more included. It was a decent amount of food but if I was super hungry I'd want more. I got a tempura shrimp roll. It was ok. I didn't try the more "fancy" rolls but if you want good sushi go somewhere else. It was good for $2.99 though!! The waiter was something else, but a good something else. If you go, you'll understand. Overall if you are a hibachi lover this is a must try!! read more

The food is okay. The soup was very oily. Salad was drenched in ranch to the point it wasn't eatable. I feel like they should have made it an option to have the ranch on the side than assume someone wants ranch poured on their salad. Utensils were not clean and were sticky. Floors were very unclean and very sticky. There was also mold growing on top of the roof. This is most likely a health hazard and should be reported immediately. Tables were very unclean. One table even had salt scattered all over it and was not even cleaned. Very empty place, barely anybody comes here. Service was nice and supportive, but very slow. The place was empty but it still took over 30 minutes till food arrived. Some of the lanterns on the wall were not even on or working. The atmosphere is very unclean. Main meal was okay. Food wasn't that great but I can't speak for every item on the menu. But as an assumption I assume it would be as bad. Atmosphere was very depressing and didn't show a lot of character. I assumed better of this place but I was wrong. Finally I would not recommend this place. DO not come here if your celebrating something because it will just ruin it. There are way better restaurants out there in Charlotte. Napkin container was also empty and did not contain any napkins at the table I was sitting at. read more
