The restaurant is stylish, modern, and surprisingly chic , with a great location that makes it easy to add to an evening out. As first-time guests, we especially appreciated our server, who patiently walked us through the process and made sure there were no surprises. The explanation about the charge for uneaten all-you-can-eat sushi that guests want to take home was particularly helpful. Knowing the rules upfront makes all the difference and sets the right expectations from the start. The food was excellent. We worked our way through several rolls , sampled dumplings , and didn't find a miss among them. My Lycheetini was delicious, and after tasting a couple of sakes , I ended up buying a bottle to take home. Zero regrets there. Parking requires a little planning, with a paid lot nearby unless you're fortunate enough to snag a street spot right in front. First all you can eat sushi! The ambiance of this place is nice, casual but slightly upscale as well. For 30 dollars per person, I feel like you get a lot of variety to pick from. I would skip their fried rolls since you can barely taste the actual sushi. Their classic rolls and specificities are good though! Yesterday, the foodie gang and I went to @sushihanaclt a popular Japanese restaurant in Charlotte, North Carolina, known for its all-you-can-eat sushi. First lets share what we learned then we will get into the service and quality. Since we were a party of 7 they would not seat anyone until everyone was there. The reason for this is you are only allowed an hour and a half for the all you can eat sushi. The server was helpful and friendly, the sushi came out fast and fresh. I do wish they had a way of knowing who ordered what as that became a bit of a struggle. Okay, this was another Door Dash discovery after another Yelp Elite mentioned liking this spot. I came here earlier in the month with my sister in law after a little shopping trip in the city. Parking was a little tricky, as I didn't notice that we had to park in the back for overflow. However the restaurant does validate parking in that area. We were seated promptly and explained how the "all you can" works. Our waiter was very nice and accommodating. How it works: You mark how much of each item you want, then it is brought promptly. We came Saturday night for dinner, which is $31.99 per person. You also have the option to order a standard meal. Visited on a Sunday afternoon at 1:30pm with some friends for lunch. It was not busy at all but since our whole party was not there yet, we had to wait to be seated. This is an AYCE sushi restuarant but of course with the option of A La Carte items as well. Sushi tasted very fresh and was delicious. The food and drinks were amazing and we just had round and round of hand and classic rolls coming. They have appetizers from calamari, gyozu tempura veggies, hibachi Entrees, soups and salads. The service was very slow though. Items that we had selected never arrived and had to reorder them again. Came here for AYCE lunch last Saturday and I loved that we were seated right away.It was much less crowded than their weekend dinner crowd & the service was great from start to finish. Our food came out quick and fresh. We stuffed our faces with their appetizer options (2 rounds of apps) and finished off with our sushi rolls. I have absolute no complaints on any of the rolls I've had from here. We can't get enough of their tuna tayaki, yellowtail , and ilka salad. (Appetizer menu) We got these dishes twice (and would have done a 3rd round if we wasn't so stuffed) . For dessert we opted for their fried green ice cream which came out platted like sushi rolls. Heads up: dishes here are served as soon as they're ready, so it's possible your food will come out before the rest of your party's. I opted for the seaweed salad and Manigosh Sake Roll (shrimp, crabmeat, avocado, mango, and tobiko) and boy oh boy, it hit the spot. We had combo of Hibachi Shrimp with delicately grilled vegetables, delicious and tasty fried rice, mini California Rolls, mini Gyoza and a freshly made salad. The portions were good. I had leftovers. I'm so happy that we found Sushi Hana. I thoroughly enjoyed the food. It was packaged securely and included the condiments and utensils. The wait was only 15 to 20 minutes for made to order hot food. By far my favorite sushi place in all of Charlotte! I absolutely love this plcae because it has something for everyone to eat. Myself personally i can eat all the varieties of sushi but my child cant eat seafood but was able to eat chicken and fries so she wasn't left out. It was my first time coming here and it was my first time doing it all you can eat sushi lunch so it was a pretty cool experience being able to try multiple rolls and not pay per roll. Flipside to this you can't take anything to go and they charge you for any food that you leave. So try not to eat with your eyes. The appetizers come out in small portions so if you're like me and really like crab Rangoon, you'll need to order it a couple times. The rolls themselves were delicious, I can't quite tell you the names of the ones I picked because I had the waiter give me their suggestions, but I tried some of all of the rolls shown in the picture and there wasn't one that I didn't like. I will say that nothing specifically stood out to me about this place to make it my go to sushi spot, but it was an enjoyable experience overall. But if you ask my coworker who took me here, she'll say that it's definitely her go to spot. There is no street parking so you'll have the park in the deck attached to it but they do valet (I think that's the correct word to use when you bring them your parking ticket and they run it so you don't have to pay when you leave the garage) the parking if you park in that deck. If you park anywhere else they won't. I'm not sure if there's a quicker way to get from the deck closer to the restaurant itself I couldn't find a way so I went all the way down to the first floor out and around. (1/18/25) My wife offered to take me out to dinner. My first choice met with disapproval. So after driving in a circle we wound up at Sushi Hana in Ballantyne. I'd seen the restaurant a couple times while driving in the area, but never stopped. It's pretty much a noisier version of Mr. Tokyo with a bar. We wound up getting a table across from a screaming toddler, lucky us. I ordered what I would normally order at Mr. Tokyo. Ten minutes in and our drinks haven't arrived. The server did come by and we had to ask where they were. The server just looked blankly at us. Not a good start. When the drinks did arrive, the ginger ale that I ordered was flat. No carbonation at all. This place is a combination of a sports bar with a sushi restaurant added into it. It explains the poor acoustics and the bevy of large TVs. Another strange feature is that there isn't a bar where the chefs prepare the sushi. That seems to be hidden in the kitchen. My wife was not pleased with the dressing on her avocado salad. She said it was very gritty. I've noticed something disturbing about the selections that I've made so far, none of them had any flavor. Rolls that were supposed to have a special sauce, only had a dot of sauce. The hand rolls were on the smaller side and were loosely wrapped. This was annoying when I tried to pick them up and eat them. One roll had barely any fish in it. I've ordered some nigiri and a few more appetizers, shumai, gyoza and tataki. Everything was tiny and the gyoza and shumai appeared to have been frozen. If you're going to charge $28.99/person for dinner you really need to step up your game. I don't remember how we came to find out about this spot, but it is our go to spot now (whenever we are up in town). The food is always fresh and the staff is super friendly. It is all you can eat at lunch (and often times can get very busy), but if you are looking for a buffet all you can eat, this is NOT the spot for you! We like that it is made to order (and you can always order more, but just don't over order!) and tasty. The pieces aren't the largest (but who cares, honestly.. it's fresh and all you can eat). They have a good variety that is included in the all you can eat (and you can always order off menu, but just pay for it), and that it isn't just California or Philly Rolls that a lot of places seem to only offer. Again, if you are expecting a buffet all you can eat, this isn't that place (in our opinion, it is way better as we don't like the buffets). We have tried two locations and both hold up. We did the all you can eat sushi experience and it was great!! So first, this is closest to the Bland St. Light rail stop and is a very short walk. If you insist on driving, they validate! There's a sign, and it's a garage nearby. They don't take reservations for regular sized groups, only 6+, so just beware. As for food, once we sat down, we marked our initial choices on a sheet of paper. If you're in a big group everyone will get their own !! Everything except for sashimi and dessert are part of the AYCE. You are also limited to ordering 3 signature rolls at a time (go crazy on everything else). We ordered more than we took photos of!! Everything was good! It took longer than expected (we went HUNGRY) but the waitress was really nice and took good care of us. As we ordered additional food, the two of us shared one order sheet. Whatever works for you. Keep in mind that there's a 90 min limit on the AYCE - I'm not sure how strict they are as we went at an off time - and they have a no-waste policy. This means that you can't order a bunch of stuff at the end and take to go, they will charge you for it (seems fair to me). A couple of the signature rolls are deep fried, which is the whole roll, not just tempura (oops). For $29 per person, I felt this was a solid deal. I definitely ate my fair share of sushi and apps. Came to Sushi Hana tonight for dinner, and unfortunately, the best part of the night was leaving. There were five of us, and our server was Vivienne. We were extremely disappointed with the service. She was very inattentive, and we only saw her about three times throughout our entire meal. We ordered sashimi and nigiri, and we watched our raw sushi sit on the counter at room temperature for 20-25 minutes before it was finally brought out. Vivienne never brought any of our sushi to the table herself and never checked on us after our food arrived. After waiting at least 10 minutes with no sign of our server, we had to ask a food runner for place settings, ginger, and wasabi. It was frustrating to have to rely on someone else just to get the basic items we needed. To make matters worse, because we were a party of five, an automatic gratuity was added to our bill despite the poor service. I am unsure whether the lack of attention was because she knew a tip was guaranteed or if this is simply the level of service she normally provides. Supposedly, there is a parking garage where the restaurant validates parking for a few hours, but I could not find it so I just parked on the street. It is fairly sleek and modern inside, and the ambiance was lively when I was there for lunch. The food also came out in a timely manner, given the amount of rolls ordered. You can free miso soup whether you do AYCE or not. I ended up not doing AYCE just because I was not that hungry. Instead, I got their 3 Special Roll Dinner where I chose three of the chef specialty rolls. I arrived later than my friends (who had already placed their order), so I ordered in a rush, but I definitely should have taken a closer look at the menu. I really only like kani and shrimp tempura in sushi, so I got the Rising Phoenix Roll, Crazy California Roll, and Crazy Roll. The Rising Phoenix Roll was pretty good and filling as there was shrimp tempura with spicy crab on top of the roll. However, I made the mistake of ordering the Crazy California Roll and Crazy Roll, which are deep fried rolls. I quickly discovered that deep fried rolls are not for me; rice is already really filling and frying it just adds another filling layer to the sushi. I also prefer eating cold sushi, not hot sushi. My friends really liked their rolls and I would definitely come back and order a roll that is not deep fried because this place does have good reviews and I want a better experience. If I could, I would probably give Sushi Hana a 3.5/5 instead of a 3/5 based on my experience as of now, but I definitely should have ordered differently as I think it would have elevated my dining experience. read more

However, the servers when they did come by were very nice. Food overall was just ok. One of the rolls didnt have the seaweed totally cut which resulted in me trying to cut it myself and the rolls coming apart. This only happened with one roll though. Other four were good.
