Hibachi Chicken & Shrimp Combo Tray

When you can't figure out what you want to eat Hibachi is always a great choice! At 8:00pm when I called their phone number, I reached a weird message stating "please enter your area code"; and made it impossible to place my order before I arrived. I was worried I wouldn't be getting this hibachi that my mouth was set for because it states they stop take out orders at 8:30. When I arrive at 8:34pm I was able to place my order and get my food quickly! Everything from the sweet carrots, rice, veggies, noodles, chicken and shrimp were all delicious. I recommend getting a side of the teriyaki sauce because it's really good! I can't believe I didn't know about this spot for so long, but now that I tasted it I can't forget.

Decided to try this place out after seeing the posts on Instagram, each time making my Mouth water! Went on a weekday for a late lunch, ordering was super easy, young lady at the register was very friendly. The seating area is simple BUT clean! Our order came out very quickly, and was ABSOLUTELY everything my taste buds imagined. Their soup of the day was very flavorful. Our group ordered the steak hibachi (AMAZING!), jumbo shrimp teriyaki with veggies and rice, and jumbo shrimp hibachi. I will definitely be back VERY SOON!

Fulfilling hibachi meal. Haven't been here in awhile and it's still as good. It was a saltier than I would liked it's but the everything else was great. Carrots still sweet and amazing and portion size still big enough for me to get two meals out of. Service was quick and I appreciate the fact that they ask how you like your steak cooked I never get that a carry out spot.

Not your regular hibachi restaurant. You order at the counter and they call you or bring the food to the table. There's a few tables inside you can eat at. Great service, fast and efficient behind the scenes. The food came out piping hot. The portion was huge! The wings were huge and super saucy. Everything was flavorful. Parking available on the street.

My perpetual search for great Hibachi led me to Yakiko. I was not disappointed. I like the fact that you can customize your veggies and rice - a lot of places just have their set "meal" where you get carrots, rice, and a veg... PRO TIP: they ask you if you want carrots - say yes! The carrots here are not overly sweet (like a lot of other places). The carrots also have a texture instead of some mushy (baby-food-like) carrots I've had at other places. Shows that this place pays attention to the details. My first go, I went with chicken and there are big chunks of it given to you along with a generous portion of sauce. Went with zucchini for my veg and was super delighted by the entire meal. My only ding for this place is the parking situation, but the parking deck (10min free) parking made it easy in and out - however my anxiety starts peaking when I park and see there is a line (even if I call ahead). Looks like uber eats, door dash, etc park in the middle of Trade near the median! which seems a little weird. I guess during pandemic times, there should be less traffic, but on a road that leads directly to the center of Charlotte, I don't think this would be manageable during peak traffic times.

Soooo good!! Portions are massive and food tastes fresh. Vegetables cooked perfectly and well seasoned. They give a generous amount of yum yum sauce. They seemed to mostly do take out orders but did have a small area to eat inside

Been driving by this place for years. Finally decided to give it a try. I love Hibachi. Ordered carry out. Guy at the counter was very pleasant. Decent dining area with a few tables and chairs. I ordered the salmon and chicken combo tray with all veggies and Fried rice. Veggies, rice and chicken were decent. Chicken was a bit over seasoned. But let's get to the salmon. I was unaware that salmon jerky was a thing until now. Let me tell you.... They cooked the Fu@k outta this piece of salmon. It was tougher than the chicken. It was extremely dry and had very little flavor. Ended up spending around $25. I don't mind spending $25 on carry out for myself if it's good. I don't really feel like I got my moneys worth here. If you decide to come eat here, don't get the salmon. My dog did love it though. Oh yeah the Yaki sauce is like water.

You can never go wrong with the veggie plate!! Customer service is great, building is clean and the food is always hot and fresh.

So incredibly satisfied!!! Hibachi is an all time favorite for my husband and I, but I never imagined I'd find a great place for Hibachi to-go! If you are in the Charlotte downtown area you Must try this place! During my visit I was in the company of a few locals that were frequent visitors. They were so pleasantly welcomed by the girl at the window, as was I. Great service is such a great motivator for people to return, so this was fantastic to see! I've included a picture of the menu, and as you can see they will soon be adding beer and sake to their drink options. For now, they have bottled and fountain soda and water. The inside of this building offers great artwork, and a few tables in case you decide to stay and dine indoors. There is also a to-go window which was very convenient, but it was quite warm outside with no place to sit... so this is better utilized if it is full inside or if you drove and curb parked. Food takes about 15-20 minutes to prepare (depending on how busy they are). So on to the main event.... The food!!!! Delicious!!! I highly recommend the Yaki Double with Shrimp + Filet Mignon, Fried Rice, and All the Veggies! I also highly recommend getting a side of the steak sauce to go with the Yaki sauce they give you. It is a ginger steak sauce and enhanced everything. The meat was well seasoned as were the shrimp. The sweet carrots provided a nice sweet treat. I went ahead and ordered the Soup and Spring Roll, great decision!!! The soup was wonderful and the spring roll was fresh and not overly oily. Each was only a dollar and well worth it!! I also added sriracha to my order because some like it hot and I am definitely one of them! Overall, this was such a delightful find and I will certainly be back!

I've seriously been searching for a good Hibachi place since I moved to Charlotte 2.5 years ago. Im from Salisbury where we have Katana, Tokyo Express & Ichibans! All of those places set such a high standard when it comes to hibachi. In Charlotte I've tried Red Ginger, Kabuto & a couple of other spots but it's never come close to the options in Salisbury. My partner and I ordered 2 egg rolls, chicken hibachi with all vegetables & carrots. Delicious. Idk who is cooking in the kitchen but they need a RAISE. They seasoned it perfectly (a lot of hibachi places use very little seasoning.) Even the inside of the egg roll was seasoned beautifully. The portions of the kitchen were *chefs kiss* It was seriously so much food & I gobbled it down before being able to take a picture! I've ordered through Postmates three times because I have a lot of anxiety parking in that area (I live .9 miles away) but I really want to try to go in the next few days to see if it's fresher/better! Overall, I'm so delighted that we have such an amazing option in uptown! I cannot wait to try more options here & especially excited for the Sake! Thank you for what you do & for bringing amazing food to Charlotte. ***edited to add pics*** Ordered again tonight after submitted reviews. I really didn't think it could get any better but WOW. The steak was DELICIOUS. I do think they should put more portions of the meat since it is about $22 and didn't feel that there was a lot of meat. I also tried the soup & it was so good!!! I absolutely love the soup at Japanese restaurants so I was so excited to see this! My nieces favorite has always been Ibichans. She told me today that this is the best she's ever had snd couldn't believe how good it was. Regardless of my tiny complaint about portions, this place is still 5 stars. There's no way I'd ever change that! I'm obsessed with this place. YOU MUST GO!!!

Visited Charlotte and wanted to get some Hibachi to go. I definitely recommend going to Yakiko! The food was so flavorful and filling. My brother lives in Charlotte and I told him he HAD to try it. So good!

So his choice was here. Google directions suck they took us around the back to the parking garage for the 2nd level and since we have never been here before it took us a few minutes to figure out how to get down to the first level. When we entered there was a waiter taking an order and no one else on the floor so we had a little bit to get seated even though there were only two other parties in the restaurant. We were able to sit wherever we wanted so I sat with a view of the screen with the replay of the Brazil FIFA game on. My husband wanted the unagi don but didn't order because the price seemed high. The table next to us all ordered bowls and the serving size was huge so my husband regretted it. We order takoyaki, spicy wings, and 3 rolls Godzilla, Hadouken, and Master Roshi. The wings had amazing flavor but were not spicy. Takoyaki was flavorful and the perfect temperature. I get a lot of takoyaki that is entirely too hot and have to crack them open to cool before eating them. My husband did not enjoy the Godzilla roll he said the topping was too much and didn't add to the flavor. But enjoyed the other two. I enjoyed all three rolls the flavor was fresh and very little need for soy sauce fine without it. If we are ever in Charlotte with time to eat I would stop here again.

The cucumber salad was nicely, chilled on refreshing the takoyaki delicious the temper was good, had a cocktail it was fine, except very small considering what it cost. . The servers were efficient, friendly, and conscientious. The only thing was the restroom. There were a couple of signs in there that I did not consider appropriate for restaurant of the caliber in any case bye . We'll have to try again another time to see if that makes the reaction not bad but not great either.

To make things worse, the initial plates came out cold (both mine and my date's) which was very disappointing. My remade plate did come out hot, but by then the experience was already affected. I also didn't like that it's $5 extra for more rice, even if you're just trying to substitute it for the veggies. That felt unnecessary. The fried calamari tasted like it came straight out of a frozen box, and instead of squid rings, it was more like straight pieces of squid, which wasn't what I expected. To top it off, I found what looked like a white hair in my food and had to get my plate remade. The server was very nice and handled it well, which I appreciated, but the overall food quality just didn't make up for it. As someone who eats hibachi often, I'd say this spot needs to add more flavor and seasoning to really stand out. I'd probably pass on this hibachi spot.

We ordered a double order of the Philly roll, an order of dumplings, and a hibachi steak with mushrooms plate to go for about $48. The staff were very friendly, attentive, and made ordering very smooth/easy. There isn't really a waiting area per se, so we sat at a table while waiting on our order (which didn't take very long). Philly Roll: kids liked it. You can't really go wrong with smoked salmon, cream cheese and cucumber. The fish tasted fresh. Dumplings: I think this was supposed to come with 6, but we only had 5. The dumplings are a mix of chicken and pork. They tasted okay. I prefer pan fried, while there were more so steamed. Hibachi steak with mushrooms: comes with sweet carrots, fried rice, and a 4oz container of white sauce. The carrots were indeed sweet (naturally) but quite mushy. I found the rice and the steak to both lack seasoning. The sauce was a MUST. I wish I was asked how I like my steak cooked cuz these were bordering well done. Nonetheless, I don't think I'll go back here for hibachi or dumplings. The sushi is a maybe but for its price point, I can find better or cheaper options that are comparable in taste.

I've enjoyed Korean barbecue many times, so when I saw the price, I thought I had found a great midday option. Unfortunately, the experience didn't live up to expectations. The happy hour kalbi turned out to be four small pieces of meat for $9.95, which I had to cook myself. A bowl of rice was an additional charge, and there were no sides, vegetables, soup, or salad included. I left the restaurant still hungry, which is never a good sign after lunch. What disappointed me most was the lack of guidance and hospitality. As someone new to Japanese-style barbecue, I asked a few simple questions to understand what I was ordering. When I confirmed this was the happy hour portion, the server said yes--but didn't explain the serving size or suggest additional items. A little coaching would have gone a long way. At one point, when I asked whether the meal came with sides like banchan or rice, I was told, "This is not Korean barbecue." I completely understand the distinction now, but the tone felt curt rather than helpful. Hospitality is about helping guests navigate something unfamiliar, not making them feel like they should already know. I also ordered iced water with lemon, and the lemon never arrived...only the ice water. Was this an omen of what's to come?? Another frustration was the parking situation. I paid for parking through ParkMobile outside the restaurant, only to discover after entering that parking validation was available inside. That information would have been much more useful if it had been communicated clearly before guests park or pay. From a customer experience standpoint, it feels like something that could easily be improved with better signage--lead with the good stuff. The location itself is also somewhat isolated. While technically in Uptown, it's not in a particularly walkable or high-traffic area, so most guests will need to park in a garage or pay for street parking. There isn't much nearby other than an apartment complex above the restaurant, which makes clear parking instructions and strong service even more important. To be fair, the restaurant was clean, and the meat itself was flavorful. The concept of Japanese BBQ is interesting, and I now understand that this style is very different from Korean BBQ, with smaller, à-la-carte portions designed to be built into a meal. That said, the overall experience felt transactional rather than welcoming. I left hungry--and disappointed--not because of the food quality, but because the service and communication could have been better at several points along the way. This visit felt like a missed opportunity. With a little more attentiveness, clearer guidance, and stronger customer engagement, the experience could have been completely different. Don't let one restaurant deter you. Life is short--get out there and eat.

The person on the phone took my order, told me it would be ready in 10 minutes, and that was it--no mention of them closing soon. On my way there, traffic was crazy, and I got a call around 2:09 PM from the restaurant asking about my ETA. I was a little confused because I had no idea restaurants rush customers to pick up their food. Turns out, they were closing at 2:00 PM and reopening at 4:30 PM, which I was never told when I placed my order. Had I known that, I wouldn't have ordered at all because I wasn't about to rush there in the middle of heavy traffic. To make things worse, they kept blowing up my phone even after I explained I was stuck in traffic. Finally, a different person (maybe a manager) got on the phone and actually told me they were closed, which was the first time I was properly informed. By that point, I was already frustrated, so I just told them to keep the food because I wasn't going to make it in time. Overall, the lack of communication was the biggest issue here. I wanted a memorable birthday experience for my daughter, and unfortunately it ended up being a bit of a disappointment considering the time and cost. The food itself was delicious, but poor pacing and lack of attention to the customer overshadowed the entire experience. I didn't ask for compensation but the managers took it upon themselves to comp my wine flight. I hope this was a one off experience but I can't say that I'll return to this restaurant.
