Can I just say that CoVid is a jerk? Now that I have that out of the way, time for my review. Under normalcy I really like this place. They have a pretty wide selection from sushi to mini corn dogs. This is where I usually tell you what I ate.... I ate everything, okay? Don't judge me. CoVid has this place weird. So usually I would just walk through the buffet balancing as many plates as possible to get as much food as my 160 pound frame can handle. But now you have to let someone else spoon the food out for you while you wait. Ugh. Annoying. I mean, I get it. Everyone is terrified and whatever. But can we agree it's annoying? The food is almost always good here. I'm very partial to calamari and the egg rolls. I usually overdo it on these two things in particular. Buffet items have really deteriorated since Covid. Drove two hours based on experience in the past. Arrived an hour after open. Food was room temperature and everything tasted stale. While the place looks clean; the tabletops are a granite mix in color; They could stand to wash the tables a little better. The meats, except the salmon, fish dishes, raw shrimp, were extremely dry & not tasty. They were either old, overcooked, or dry from sitting out too long. Some of the ice cream was too soft. Super Fun Happy Hibachi Grill Fulfillment Buffet Time! If you must eat at a Chinese buffet in Jonesboro, AR this is the one. I have a real weakness for Chinese Buffets, it is half about the food and half about the pure entertainment value. A buffet can really bring out the worst in some folks. To avoid "making a day of it" a sign at the entrance gently reminds patrons a 2 hour eating limit is enforced, though I did not see anyone ejected from their reinforced booth. The Hibachi grill staff is friendly, we were quickly seated so we could get right to the purpose of this visit, putting on a few extra pounds. I should mention everything was clean during my visit; floors, plates, cups, silverware, serving utensils, etc. I appreciated that precautions are taken to prevent the handles of serving spoons from falling into the food; they are purposely over-sized for the trays. There are a lot of items on the bar (over 300 according to their menu!). All the typical Chinese restaurant dishes including fried dumplings, my personal favorite. Some Japanese items including sushi (thanks for the warning Eric W, I did avoid the cream cheese tuna roll, a few items on the sushi bar were a bit wilted), a grill where you can customize your own meal, seafood (FYI crab legs are no longer on the bar) and the always present "American Food" section with macaroni and cheese, catfish, etc. for those not digging the Chinese food. you know i've eaten chinese all over the usa and in several other countries. arkansas must not understand what good chinese is the only thing i really go for is generals chicken and spicy mustard i want a big bowl of white rice topped with a spicy chicken and dump hot mustard on it so my nose will run and my ears turn bright red with that said i saw no white rice an Asian staple all over this great World and for some reason the hot mustard was over on the salad bar i tasted hints of honey mustard dressing sadly i wasn't impressed i tried the crab rangoon it was well sad i tried what i hopped would be a lumpia it wasn't bad the dessert bar had all kinds of cakes and puddings but sadly they tasted old and the fried dougnut was hard and crunchy it was late in the night but what hit me the most was it smelled like a fish market with out the sweet smell of ocean i guess the next time i go i'll bring my own hot mustard........... i'm gonna have to try it earlier in the day maybe the food will be fresher read more

Summary: Do you like to vomit? Out on the town and craving Chinese, I couldn't decide which dish I wanted to get takeout so I decided to actually stop at a buffet restaurant. This was the first one that I came upon so in I went to check it out. I ran the gamut...a little sushi, a little hibachi, a little buffet. Loaded up the plates and back to my booth to eat a little food, watch a little football and relax. The sushi was the start. It was pretty flavorless, to be honest, and I was rather disappointed. It's a shame this town can't have really good sushi. This is where the meal went from meh to yuck. I picked up the chicken stick I had taken from the buffet and took a big bite......and it was stone cold. Yes. An item from the buffet was STONE COLD. And the tray I had taken it from was full which indicates it hadn't been that long since it was brought to the buffet. I thought it odd that something from a buffet that is supposed to be hot was cold but didn't put too much stock into it. I set the chicken stick aside and stabbed some of the chicken and broccoli. Cold. Not ice cold like the chicken stick but cool enough that if you had a microwave at home you would heat it up. I put it back on the plate because it just made me cringe at the temperature. I ate a little of the hibachi because at least I saw him cook that. The teriyaki flavor overwhelmed the taste of everything else but it was at least hot. Of all the items I grabbed from the buffet (8 of them) only the General Tso chicken was warm enough that I felt comfortable eating it. (I did try the other stuff and they were all luke-warm.) I regret that now. About an hour after I came home, I began to feel the unease in my stomach turn to full blown pain. Shortly thereafter, my toilet (which I'll call Steve) ended up becoming a really good friend for a little while. Steve was a real trooper. I kind of feel bad for the crap I gave Steve tonight, but he seemed to be able to take whatever was thrown up at him. While we were able to find enough food that was good enough to enjoy, the worst aspect of the place was the outrageous price!! They charge a 10% fee for a "large" party of 6!! Although it's fair to say I wasn't particularly thrilled about eating at this restaurant, I was shocked by how poor quality the food was. The first mistake was made when my father decided that we would eat at a buffet, per my younger brothers request. It's safe to say I wasn't expecting much. As we walked into the restaurant the relatively nice atmosphere (for a buffet) and the friendly service filled me with high hopes. Then came time to hit the buffet. All different types of food were before my eyes. There was a large amount of seafood as well as a nice fruit bar, both of my favorite types of food. The second mistake was on my end; I chose to eat seafood at a buffet. In hindsight this was a very stupid decision, but I was lulled in by the apparent cleanliness of the restaurant. It was time to eat. I sat down with my dad and younger brother at our table. Before me sat my plate. I didn't want to get too ahead of myself so I had only gotten small portions of a few different items. On my plate sat a small pile of octopi, some crunchy shrimp, a kabob, and a piece of sushi ( I'm not sure what kind of roll it was, as none of them were labelled). The first thing I did was try an octopus. This was a very stupid thing to do at a buffet, but I was feeling adventurous. Though it didn't taste completely terrible, I did not feel like going back for more. The next thing I tried was the crunchy shrimp. I didn't think they could mess it up. Boy was I wrong. Looking at it, I expected a lightly battered, pleasant tasting piece of shrimp. What I got was a thick bit of batter that tasted like it had been soaked in beef broth; I couldn't even taste the shrimp. I ate the sushi and found it completely lacking in flavor, even with soy sauce. I elected not to eat the kabob; it was soaked in grease. Instead I went back to the buffet as my stomach began to ache and got some peel-and-eat shrimp. This more than anything else, I felt had to be at least edible. I peeled the shrimp, dipped it in the cocktail sauce and ate it. The shrimp nearly made my body lurch. Holding in my vomit, I pushed my plate aside and we left. The coy-pond by the exit a subtle reminder of the disgusting seafood swimming through my digestive tract. I realize now that in my hunger I had mistaken the cleanliness of the restaurant itself for the cleanliness of the food, and the pleasant atmosphere for quality. As I write this my stomach is still in pain, this is one of the worst restaurants in Jonesboro. Safe yourself some nausea and don't eat here. read more

Walking up to the buffet a worker on her phone ran into me and got mad at me for it. My 1 year old daughter got sick and our waitress got mad about it like it was done on purpose. Went to Hibachi Grill with my husband. I no longer recommend that restaurant. While delicious when it first opened, it seems it has met with the same fate that most Asian restaurants in Jonesboro eventually backpedal into. Cutting corners wherever they can and ramping up the price for below par food. I describe the food I ate today as completely soulless. I sampled several kinds of sushi, the squid salad at the sushi bar, the fried squid, sauteed mushrooms, potstickers, and noodles. The only fresh items I ate were the squid salad and the mushrooms. Everything else was cold, flavorless, tough, and tasted like it had sat out for a good portion of the day. Our server wordlessly kept out of our way except to take away empty plates or refill our drinks. I do like this sort of service, so this was a plus for me. The hostess was also kind enough to allow us to sit in a more secluded booth. The service was muted and no-nonsense, which I prefer. I don't recommend that potential customers come on a Sunday. My boyfriend and I have been loyal fans of hibachi grill for the last year. However, our last experience was so infuriating I made this yelp account to leave this review specifically. We had a party of three for lunch and everything started out fine. Food was good. Service was good enough. Then it came time to pay. I had seen on their website that they offer discounts for astate students, so I asked our waitress. She rudely looked down and shook her head no at me. Okay, maybe they changed their policy. She then asked for mine and my boyfriends student id's. So, yes there is a discount. But why the disrespectful head shake? Anyway, I paid with a card but my boy friend gave her cash. Before the discount, the check was about $12 so he gave her $13. The check ended up being being about $9 after the discount. But she kept his $4 of change for herself!! He never once told her to keep the change! She just assumed she had the right to it. What was the point of even getting the discount then?? By this point, we were furious. I marked a thick black line through the tip line on my check and she very aggressively started clearing the table while we were still sitting there once she saw I wasn't giving her a tip she didn't deserve. I always tip but I thought the 40% tip she took from my boyfriend was good enough. Our third party member also chose not to tip and she had the audacity to say, "no tip for me?" Are you kidding? While the food was 'ok', both my wife and I ended up thowring most of it up after we got home 40mins later. The kid kept his down. Nothing 'tasted' bad, but unfortunately it's a buffet, and in Arkansas that means you just ate what the last crackhead was breathing on. Count this place as off the list of 'places to eat' forever. Only one star review because I have been here twice/three times and all weren't particularly enjoyable. Food isn't consistent, it's just mehhh, and priced too high for the quality. Another issue with this resturant I have is the staff, or one waitress in particular. In two instances this waitress (whom I do not know the name of or we would've complained to the manager) has brought back the left over cash/card we used to pay for our meal and just stands there, not saying anything, obviously waiting for a tip. Not that I don't love tipping waiters because I know that's how alot of them make their money, but when their service is low quality, and makes the customers (my boyfriend and i) feel uncomfortable then that's just how it is. Bad service, bad tip, Good service, good tip, that's the way I look at it, AND this was the second time she did this to us, and we also noticed her doing it to other customers. Also my boyfriend asked for a to go drink, before he gave her the tip, she said that she would get him one, made us wait 10 minutes, until she saw him put the tip in the holder, ran over picked it up, proceeded to what looked like her talking to a fellow waitress about us, and ignored us and never brought his drink.
