Time to update. There do seem to have been some changes. I didn't notice anything improper with the food this time, and they now have all you can eat crab legs for only around a $3 difference which is pretty killer and well worth it. I've gotta say it's now a decent three star buffet. There have been subtle atmosphere changes such as the plates available with nice lighting around them that you grab as you go up and different items on the menu. I didn't see buffalo wings this time which was a bit disappointing but the selection was very decent. I didn't touch the teppanyaki (no it is NOT CALL HIBACHI!!! A hibachi is an open fire grill, there is a huge difference!!! - sorry but pet peeve!). The sushi was awful when I went with rice nearly turned into a paste. They need to retrain the sushi person. Service was as good as can be expected so all around I had an enjoyable visit! I'll definitely be back again. I felt it fair to update a review for others considering the changes. They deserve it. Staff was polite but the food was terrible, especially since the price was comparable to other Asian buffets that have far better food. Most of their food was just ok but several items (which we normally love eating) were un-eatable. The dessert offerings weren't much better. I had a overcooked chocolate chip cookie which had an unsatisfying 2 chocolate chips in it. I couldn't even eat the whole thing. I enjoyed myself here today. I'm surprised the rating is so low. I went with my sons for lunch. It wasn't too busy, we were seated quickly. There was a good assortment of food. They replaced food quickly and it came out hot. There are free refills for the drinks. Everything was tasty. I enjoyed everything, especially the chicken on a stick which was tender and juicy. Also the pepper chicken and clams, the imitation crab with melted cheese, stuffed shrimp, vegetable dishes, etc. They had a good assortment of desserts and fruits as well. My family and I decided to dine here for lunch on 8/2/2019. My dad decided to get hibachi and in his food he found a curly hair. We gave the restaurant the benefit of the doubt as these things happen sometimes. Sadly our trip didnt get better as when we got dessert we all got the cream puff pastries as they are our favorites. I bit into mine not eating any of the cream and it was very dry so I didnt continue eating it. I was eating ice cream when I noticed that the cream in the pastry was moldy. As soon as we arrived we were told that we had 15 mins to make our plates. The food on the buffet was cold and meat items were cold and hard. While we were eating they added napkins to the dispenser and began sweeping around us. When I finished eating and went to the restroom I couldn't get in due to water and suds on the floors. At that point I turned to leave and the floor in the lobby area was also wet and thick with suds. I am over 70 years old and afraid that I would slip and fall. I know times are hard, but man, it must really be tough for hibachi. They gave us plastic forks... For a buffet, this place is pretty standard in terms of food. The hot and sour soup here is terrible so I usually just stick with the egg drop, which isn't too bad. The typical Chinese items like the kung pao chicken or the general tso's chicken are only alright. The sushi here is actually decent but eat at your own risk. Not sure how much I trust raw fish at a buffet. I actually like the hibachi grill they got going on where you pick your items and they cook it for you. It's not great but it's not bad either. AVOID this place. We have been coming to this buffet for a while, about once every other month, but after our experience there today they will never get our business again. First off, when we walked in it smelled of cat pee. The food was cold, and worse, it tasted like bleach. Usually the food is pretty decent, and we eat a lot so we made 3 plates with all our favorite foods on it. When we finally started eating it, it was inedible. The seafood and chicken tasted contaminated and like bleach, so we stopped eating it, opting for the desert only. Now is where the bad part comes. They take our plates away, then a big group of employees starts gathering behind our booth, the manager had the nerve to walk up to us and SCOLD us for not eating it. "Why you not eat? You waste the food! How dare you!" How dare us?! How dare you interact with a customer that way! I told her it tasted like bleach and that its dangerous, and that we paid for it so we can choose to do whatever we want with it. Her response? "It dont taste like bleach. You think it does but everyone else thinks it fine. No one complains! We don't have enough food out and can't make more!" SO THEN MAKE MORE! You're a buffet. The whole purpose is you take however much you want. Nobody complains? How about the fact that I just complained! It may not sound that bad, but this was the rudest experience I have ever had at a place of business, and judging from the other reviews I have read, I am not alone in dealing with these rude, horrible people who don't know how to run a business. I just got home with my family from driving across town to Hibachi Grill. We walked in the door at 8:15. Someone walks over, screamed to the Latina girl sitting at the register and she inturn screams out, "TAKEOUT ONLY" after the two girls give one another a look. It was 8:15. That is extremely poor business, especially when the restaurant had quite a number of people still sitting and helping themselves to the Buffet and others coming in behind us. If it were my place of establishment BOTH girls would be fired. It's clear they wanted to go home yet we would have been out of there before the restaurant closed. A loss of money for the owners. I can't help wonder how often this practice happens and how much money over time is lost from pushing people away before closing. With 5 people in my party paying $14 a piece is $70 tonight, not including drinks, etc. That doesn't include the other people coming in behind us. Now I understand why this place only has 1.5 stars. It's because employees are lazy and would rather shut down early than complete their shifts. Another Hibachi I just recently visited, I done everything in my power to keep from reaching out and cursing this hostess out (I don't curse, but she was good at angering people with her smart-mouth comments) this woman was obnoxious. My husband wanted to eat at this Hibachi grill (Wade Hampton Blvd.) and next door to the grill is the GNC. I purchased some items at GNC and walked back to the restaurant where only my husband ordered (My past experience at the other Hibachi Grill on Woodruff Road left me physically sick of eating at this nasty place) (back at the Wade Hampton location) the woman walked over to our table and made a comment about my purchases at GNC she stated. "You spend so much money over there when you could have purchase a meal over here" she walked away laughing. I continued reading my magazine and looking at the supplements I purchased at GNC. The next visit I decided to order food. When the same woman walked over to the table she asked for my drink order, I told her I wanted a diet coke, she turned around and made another smart mouthed statement saying, "if you are into good health you should have water and not diet Coke" she walked away..... I looked at my husband and told him, this woman was cruising for a cursing. I maintained my cool... Lunch time ends at 4pm, apparently they put out shrimp (early) for the dinner menu. When my husband walked back to his table with shrimp on this plate the waitress had nerve to tell him, "those are dinner items, you need to pay for dinner" she stood there and my husband told her they needed to place a sign stating this is not lunch, but dinner or whatever. He passed his plate of "dinner shrimp" to her and said "Never mind, we are never returning" she took the plate to the back to use again (because she passed the garbage can that was right next to her and walked into the kitchen area)..... I guess since my husband did not eat from the plate the shrimp was still good enough for the next guest, but he had the plate at the table and he talked over the plate this is unsanitary and just gross! read more

I stopped in here on a Sunday about 7 pm. It was fairly busy but not packed. The food was decent. The only complaints I have are that they ran out of a lot of stuff and it was not being refilled, for example when I went to the grill they were out of mushrooms and bean sprouts and chicken. I mean really I could understand if they would be closing soon but the place was doing good business and not closing for hours. They were out of roast beef and some other things on the buffet too. Food was decent and there was a decent selection too. But here is my real problem. They asked me for a TIP.!!!! Really for taking my plates away. They gave me a glass of water and I served myself!!! This is the worst place to eat at. The buffet was half empty and the food was cold. I tried to get hibachi when the worker was cleaning and using cleaner and thought he was gonna cook my food- no sir! We have eaten at Hibachi Grill many times and enjoyed it each time until 3days ago. We always go to the hibachi grill section where you can choose any of many items that you like. The first thing that happened should have stopped us. My wife picked up her plate to start choosing her food and there on the plate was a partially mashed roach. It was still alive. We gave it to the cook and he did apologize. But, like idiots, we continued through the line and ate our lunch. The food quality has dropped considerably since last spring. We will not go back to Hibachi Grill and Supreme Buffet. As it happened, I was watching a restaurant TV show that night. Over the weekend a friend of mine came into this establishment with his children. He asked to pay for the meals of a homeless couple he had met , being it was Thanksgiving weekend. We came in at lunch today. The buffet was full and the food looked good. I was wrong. As we starred eating we found over half the hot food was cold. Some if it to the point of a health code violation and food borne unless risk. I mentioned to our server they should have someone check the temperatures. A few minutes later what I understand to be the manager or owner came to our table. She had no apology, just excuses. She said that the restaurant was very cold when they opened and that it's to be expected that much of the hot food without sauce doesn't stay hot. I would have been fine with an apology and a "we will check the temperatures and make corrections". I'm not ok with telling me that I should expect half the hot food to be cold because it's cold outside and it doesn't have sauce on it. If you can't manage your food counts, your par levels, and your pass through on the buffet then get someone to help you or get out of the buffet business. Disappointed. I've been here before and it was ok, however I came for the Sunday buffet and there was nothing even worth eating. Service was rude, but quick. There were signs everywhere warning you about pricing, telling you to only take what you eat, etc. Reasonable, sure--in moderation. There was none. Everywhere you looked were signs telling you what you could and couldn't do to the point of seeming hostile. The manager at the front counter is rude. Food was cold, greasy, undercooked, overcooked, mushy when it should be textured, and crispy when it should have been soft. The beef tasted spoiled to the point of nausea. It cost $27 for 2 people to eat and drink and frankly even if it only cost $5 each I'd rather go to Waffle House for higher quality food. Without a shadow of a doubt the worst Asian food I've had in Greenville. Go literally anywhere else. Bento boys or joy of Tokyo for cheap Japanese cuisine, happy China or Asian delight for reasonable Chinese food. Just completely disappointed. Will not be coming back ever. read more
