My friends and I had the worst experience with this company. We flew in from Toronto to LA for a weekend and had scheduled them for dinner on Saturday night - they cancelled on the same day at 1pm with no apology whatsoever. while the food was OK . sub Par at best but it was not worth the 1 hour wait I ordered at 940 and got my foood until 10:43pm. the cook who has a tattoo sleeve on his left hand arm that says "familia" on it spent 30-40 min on the phone instead of finishing the numerous orders in front of him. and proceded to give me my simple chicken and rice order that was already precooked and was in the heating trays with a additude after I complained about the time. if you like waiting forever on your meal this is the place for you. I would never and have never reviewed a food restaurant I usually think that is some Caucasian people activities but this place did it for me and made me get on my phone and complain. So I decided to try out Hibachi House after someone at work recommended it. I ordered the chicken plate and paid extra for chicken fried rice. I was very disappointed the chicken was dry and the rice was mushy and there was no chicken in the chicken fried rice. So here we go, I have decided to let anyone and everyone know and warn them before doing business with this company. It is the same owner (Wendy) for both food trucks; one located at 8350 Firestone Blvd. in Downey and the other located at 10648 Atlantic Blvd. in South Gate, California. I am here to comment on their "Live Hibachi Catering Shows" that is listed and advertised both on their websites and on the food trucks themselves. Here is my story, it's worth a listen so that if you are looking at reviews because this idea crossed your mind, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY and run fast the other way!!! I was planning a 50th Wedding Anniversary for my parents for roughly 30 people. I wanted to have something unique and special since it was a milestone of an event. I thought a Hibachi company where they come to your house to cook with the chefs doing a live show, entertaining the crowd would and could be just that (man, if I could only turn back time and not move forward with that idea and this so called company - I would). It seemed like the perfect plan at the time; they provide all the tables, chairs, cloths, plates, utensil, grill, chefs, waiters, etc. It was a "one-stop-shop" so to speak. The problem with that was when they CANCELED 2 HOURS BEFORE THE EVENT, yes, 2 hours before the event - I was left with NOTHING. No chairs for my guests, no tables, no food, basically NOTHING except extreme panic and stress, as anyone could only imagine! I had family from out of town flying in to celebrate my parents' special day, spent thousands more on decor, flowers, outdoor canopies, banners, printed menus, personalized wood cut name plates for seating arrangements, charger plates, alcohol, and all other things that go into a party for this momentous event. To cover all bases, I had sent a 50% deposit a month in advance (as they required for booking), I called a week before to confirm (and while she was very short with me on the call, she said yes, everything was confirmed). I had a last minute question the day before in which I called, left a a voicemail and a text, to which I had no reply. That definitely sparked some worry, and rightfully so. It was a RED FLAG big time, but I thought to myself, she confirmed already, they would be in contact with me a day before at the very least if something were to go wrong. Plus, after tax and tip it would be like between 5-6k for everything. I thought to myself "they wouldn't let something like this go awry." NOPE, I was so wrong. I chalked up her not getting back to me as just being busy preparing for the next day. BAD IDEA. By the way, I paid a lot extra for an early day drop off of tables and chairs so it would not be hectic when actual guests arrived later in the day AND also so that I could add my own personal touch to each place setting. Not to mention, I also paid extra for a second chef since I thought one was not suffice for a party of 30 people. At around 12:30 when tables should've arrived - I got a call from her employee who said their rental table place fell through because they were sick and "can I work with them on getting our own chairs/tables if they are still providing the chefs?" I'm sorry..WHAT??? I didn't have time to laugh or cry about it and had to suddenly scramble to call every party rental place that could deliver within 2 hours. Practically unheard of but my husband went into emergency mode to save the party and found a place (Party Rental Creations in Canoga Park, CA) that would save the day. They did their part, we did more than our part, but Hibachi House LA still DID NOT! It got progressively worse. She had her employee then say only one chef could come, then the FINAL BLOW..NO CHEFS, THEY CANCELED! It went from a Live Show, to a NO SHOW, to a SH*T SHOW in a matter of seconds. You just can't make this stuff up. Oh, and and I have yet to receive my deposit. She had her employee do all the dirty work, all of the breaking of horrible news, I have not heard an apology, no returned calls, texts, emails, and I HAVE NOT RECEIVED MY 50% DEPOSIT. She (Wendy of HIBACHI HOUSE LA) should not be in business. Does she scam all people who want to book caterers and take their money in order to keep running her food truck business and other ventures? I don't know. I do know that she owns a couple of other businesses, such as a direct tile company, she is also a real estate agent. She calls herself an "entrepreneur" but she is a CON ARTIST. In my eyes, this a fraudulent company. Please, DO NOT EVER DO BUSINESS WITH HER on any platform or in any field that she supposedly runs. If she did this to me on a day that I can never give back to my parents, what will she do to you? If you are a good human, do not support her Hibachi food trucks, her Hibachi Catering, her Direct Tile Center company, nor her real estate business. read more

Super overpriced for what it is. I love hibachi but this place literally gives you the smallest piece of chicken/steak and scatter them across the rice to make it look like a lot when packaged. It's not even that good. Paid for extra sauces and didn't even get them either. read more

Went to a party that had Hibachi House catering. Food was good, the hibachi show was entertaining. Not sure what the negative reviews are about, but it seems that most of the negative reviews are about one incident. I'll give hibachi house the benefit of the doubt, since I've had nothing but good experiences with them. I've ordered food from both locations and received my food in a reasonable time. Food from both locations was good. My personal favorite is the trio plate which includes 3 meats and rice. It's a little on the pricey side, but the portions are huge. Oh and the sauces that come with the food are so good. The garlic butter and yum yum sauce are my favorites. read more

I read the reviews, and was skeptical but still wanted to try it out for myself. Got some really unwelcoming customer service, felt like it pained them to answer questions & take my order. But aside from that, the food was 6/10 I've had better and it was really pricey for what I got. read more
