Came here for a late dinner and was seated right away. The service was quick/great and the rolls were delicious! I had the Honolulu roll which came with a lot of fish and avocado and I also tried my friend's Philly roll. The nigiri also looked very yummy. Highly recommend! It wasn't too noisy inside either despite lots of people inside.

My favorite local sushi spot! I first discovered Kikyo on DoorDash, the best fresh cut rolls, and always gave plenty of ginger and wasabi. My husband and I finally decided to dine in, and I'm so happy we did! The service was great, and the food and drinks were even better there. Plus they have TVs around the restaurant that have been playing sports when we go, go dodgers! For dine in, they have $1 Sapporo (first one only) and buy 2 get 1 roll free deals. We've done this both times we've gone. Plus an order of sake or soju, it's just the right amount for 2 people. My favorite rolls are the salmon crazy, tigres, Tijuana, and angry tail. They also have Korean food on the menu as well that we want to try next time. Connie was our waitress last night and she was funny, attentive, and nice! We'll be back!

I was brought here by my sister and I'm so glad she put me up on this spot. The service was on point, very attentive, friendly and fast. The sushi was so fresh and we all picked different items to share. The crispy rice and spicy tuna was amazing, baked crawfish was delicious and the angry tail was delectable. They have a nice spacious sitting area and a happy hour on drinks. The location is nice as you can walk down and check out a comic book store and there a coffee shop at the end of the block.

One thing I can say about sushi is that most of it tastes the same. Lol. I find that sushi restaurants offer the same Sushi items. I have only found one Sushi restaurant that stands out from the rest, but this one is not. The fish was ok, but not fresh. Once the food was brought to us, our server did not return. Service was lacking as they were short on staff. Four televisions for your enjoyment. Street parking only, busy street.

    What's advertised

Ordered bulgogi fries for almost on door dash and came nothing as advertised or as served at the restaurant.

Amazing service by Tina. She knew the menu, and outline their customer favorites to us. Tina made me feel at home ! Authentic Japanese food with a hint of Korean. If you come, ask for Tina! She will outline the menu and provide the deals of day. She is the best!

Sampled a bit of everything today! It was delicious!

Connie was amazing. Superb service plus the rest of the team was amazing. Super helpful and informative. It was my first time and I'll definitely be back. Food was really good and tasty. Steady pace to come out and everything tasted so fresh. Beer was nice and cold. Restaurant is cozy yet super clean and organized.

My wife and I bought her son and his two kids here. We frequent this restaurant but it's their first time. We were told that they have children's meals, a.k.a. kids meals, but they do not advertise it on their menus and the children have to be present for you to be order these meals essentially they are kids Bento boxes or kids bowls. We have yet to try their sashimi, but they do offer it on their menu. For those of you who are wondering what a bento box is, it's my understanding that it is the Japanese way serving food portions that do not touch one another in fact, they are in their separate little boxes, so to speak. I like this because you do not get food sauces contaminating other food items on your plate. The kids bento boxes come with french fries ! We did try their shrimp, sushi and tiger rolls, the kids loved them! We just didn't let them know what the protein was, other than they knew the shrimp roll because they know what shrimps look like... ha ha ha! Accompanying our Bento box were two bowls of miso soup! It wasn't listed on the menu so it was a nice surprise! Hats off to our server! If you're wondering, the inside of the restaurant is open casual and believe it or not the tape was our space enough away from one another that you can actually have a conversation with your guest . I hope that this review will entice you to try this restaurant .

Came on a Friday evening at around 530pm. In the downtown part of bellflower ca. parking is around the back or across from it and don't worry it's free. The food was very fresh lots of variety of rolls baked and noodles and fried rice. The waitress and waiter was very nice brought anything I asked for. The inside scenery was nice u have tvs lights and lots of decorations. Oh forgot ice cold sabarro beer!!!

Came here before going to stand up comedy club and it was so convenient. I was kind of worried we'd have to find street parking but there was parking by the comedy club then we just walked over to the sushi place a few steps away. Super convenient. I asked the Korean lady who was our server what rolls had unagi and salmon. She proceeded to do the same thing I was doing and look at the menu, which is something I was already doing and hoped we could speed it up by asking lol so don't bother asking, she doesn't know the menu. Nice lady. I found the tiger roll myself and ordered that. Good roll. Bf and I shared that along with I believe the Hawaiian roll. 2 rolls is more than enough for 2 people. When we ordered the server asked "only 2 rolls? Okay." It was more than enough don't pay attention to her lol dodger game was on so we enjoyed that with our sake before heading over to the show after.

Kikyo Sushi Bar - Where Service Steals the Show Let me start by saying--I'm not a purist when it comes to sushi. I don't obsess over authenticity or traditional techniques. What I do look for is the experience: a place that makes you feel something the moment you walk in. Kikyo Sushi Bar does exactly that. This spot is small and unassuming--quaint, even--but don't let the simplicity fool you. The energy is warm, the space thoughtfully designed, and the smiles? Constant. Every time we so much as glanced up, a server was already making their way over. No rush, no pressure--just attentiveness done right. It's rare to find a team so in sync with the rhythm of the room. That kind of service isn't trained--it's a culture. And while the food was solid (fresh cuts, balanced rolls, and a few clever touches), it's the service that made the biggest impression. You leave feeling cared for. And honestly, that lingers longer than any piece of nigiri. Restaurants like Kikyo become neighborhood legends not because they chase perfection, but because they understand people. And that's exactly what they deliver.

This is the fresh eel plate.

Food we ordered the fried octopus, yummy crunchy and soft batter, Alaskan baked sushi, the Bomb sushi, the crunch roll, the beef udon, the fresh eel plate. Very tasty, everything was great. The portions are very good. Service was great, we came on a Wednesday afternoon. Ambiance is very nice traditional, enjoyed it. We ere hungry didn't have time to post pics lol...

Bad quality fish. All rolls are 85% imitation crab. We tried but couldn't eat it. We left hungry and disappointed. Staff doesn't care.

The bar was bustling for the game which I was happy to see but upon entry, there was a gal in crutches ahead of me and I heard the door kid say they were at capacity. I checked in with him with my service dog and immediately said, we are at capacity and don't allow dogs. I let him know I have a seat waiting for me at a table, said my dog is a service dog, and simply said, "I'm sorry we're at capacity and dont allow dogs." I understand the capacity thing. So I went outside and called my friend who was inside to tell him I couldn't come in because the bar was at capacity. My guy friend came out and gave me a hug. My friend then talked to the door guy and said that door guy said, "He said he'll let you in but not your dog." I confirmed with him, "So you lied about being at capacity and are denying my service dog? Because you just told my friend you'd let me in." He tried to explained that the bar is busy and that that is how the owner runs it. I asked to speak to a manager. A manager comes out, or claims to be, saying she owned the bar, and never introduced her name. She was wearing 49ers jersey, blonde hair. I explained the situation to her and said, "you can't turn away service dogs, that's a violation. Do you understand that?" She then proceeded to explain to me that because the bar is busy and people are spilling drinks SHE does not feel comfortable having a dog in her bar. I again said, he is here for me, he is a certified service dog, and sits under the table, as my dog is just standing there. I asked, "Wouldn't that be MY call if I was comfortable if my service dog and I were in here or not?" She responded, "No, it is my bar so it's my call." She proceeded to say, "Look you can come here on a Monday with him and youll be fine. I love dogs more than I like humans, my sister has a service dog, etc. Etc." None of her banter ok's the fact that she outrightly denied entry of a patron with service dog and initially claiming to ve of capacity but lied about that as well. Horrible door experience and unfortunately I will have to report this to the DOJ as an ADA violation. This review is to document the occurrence and advise those planning to bring service dogs to be aware they will make excuses to not let you and your working animal in. For the owner, hi, just FYI businesses must allow service animals unless they pose a direct threat (in which mine did not). You violated both federal ADA and CA laws.
