Food was decent, however I wasn't a fan of the textures. Their tuna had the texture of supermarket tuna steaks-- super firm and cut thick. Their rice was also very mushy. Salmon and yellowtail were the highlight but fatty fish are always pretty good. I'd say stick with those 2. Service was really good though, I would've bumped to 4 stars for the service but the fish quality just wasn't there for me read more

Genma and dereck were awesome being that this was our first time here. Service and food great. They have some tv screens so you watch sports. Overall chill place to come and enjoy with friends and family. There's no back parking so street parking will have to be. It is a busy street so it can be a struggle getting that parking spot. Came here for a late dinner and was seated right away. The service was quick/great and the rolls were delicious! I had the Honolulu roll which came with a lot of fish and avocado and I also tried my friend's Philly roll. The nigiri also looked very yummy. Highly recommend! My favorite sushi place in the area --- solid sushi for a good price with friendly sushi chef and servers. This isn't the fanciest sushi in LA, but it's good quality for a good price. I usually get their chirashi (which they also have a lunch chirashi special), and the fish is always fresh and good quality. The also have lunch specials and often have other great specials. The last time I went, they had a "buy 2 rolls, get 1 free" deal, and they have Sapporo beer on draft for $1.99! If you have friends who don't like raw fish, they also have a good selection of cooked items - tempura, chicken teriyaki, udon noodles, etc. There's really something for everyone. They have a bunch of TVs and will usually have the game on if there is one. There's also a lot of street parking and free parking lots around since it's Downtown Bellflower. If you like good sushi for a good price, then Kikyo's definitely a place to check out. read more

Small but major part of Bellflowers downtown boulevard, Kikyo provides great high quality sushi and a fun atmosphere for date night or for a party of any size. They offer to-go or seating at their sushi bar or tables. There is limited parking in front but there is more than plenty available in the rear near the post office or across the street behind the opposite shops. The service is consistent but the sushi itself has had it's ups and downs. The specials and drinks were great at one point but its a little harder to try other things on the menu for their price points here. The same value here would get me about 30-50% more or so somewhere else, even Cerritos or Long Beach. read more

My favorite local sushi spot! I first discovered Kikyo on DoorDash, the best fresh cut rolls, and always gave plenty of ginger and wasabi. My husband and I finally decided to dine in, and I'm so happy we did! The service was great, and the food and drinks were even better there. Plus they have TVs around the restaurant that have been playing sports when we go, go dodgers! For dine in, they have $1 Sapporo (first one only) and buy 2 get 1 roll free deals. We've done this both times we've gone. Plus an order of sake or soju, it's just the right amount for 2 people. My favorite rolls are the salmon crazy, tigres, Tijuana, and angry tail. I was brought here by my sister and I'm so glad she put me up on this spot. The service was on point, very attentive, friendly and fast. The sushi was so fresh and we all picked different items to share. The crispy rice and spicy tuna was amazing, baked crawfish was delicious and the angry tail was delectable. They have a nice spacious sitting area and a happy hour on drinks. Kikyo never disappoints. This time I placed a phone order and picked it up. They are always on point when dining in and pick up proved just as good. There is always a warm welcome on arrival. I arrived a few minutes early so after I paid they had me sit in the dining room. I like that the windows have advertisement wraps so you can't see in from the street and it keeps the dining room cool. The Bento box to go container is sturdy. Bento box teriyaki chicken and salmon had good size portions and were delicious. Miso soup was still hot and delicious. Even the tempura was still crispy which is a feat for pick up. When dining in I like the baked Alaska but the Bento box was plenty. read more

One thing I can say about sushi is that most of it tastes the same. Lol. I find that sushi restaurants offer the same Sushi items. I have only found one Sushi restaurant that stands out from the rest, but this one is not. The fish was ok, but not fresh. Once the food was brought to us, our server did not return. My wife and I bought her son and his two kids here. We frequent this restaurant but it's their first time. We were told that they have children's meals, a.k.a. kids meals, but they do not advertise it on their menus and the children have to be present for you to be order these meals essentially they are kids Bento boxes or kids bowls. We have yet to try their sashimi, but they do offer it on their menu. For those of you who are wondering what a bento box is, it's my understanding that it is the Japanese way serving food portions that do not touch one another in fact, they are in their separate little boxes, so to speak. I like this because you do not get food sauces contaminating other food items on your plate. The kids bento boxes come with french fries ! We did try their shrimp, sushi and tiger rolls, the kids loved them! We just didn't let them know what the protein was, other than they knew the shrimp roll because they know what shrimps look like... ha ha ha! Accompanying our Bento box were two bowls of miso soup! It wasn't listed on the menu so it was a nice surprise! Hats off to our server! If you're wondering, the inside of the restaurant is open casual and believe it or not the tape was our space enough away from one another that you can actually have a conversation with your guest . Came here before going to stand up comedy club and it was so convenient. I was kind of worried we'd have to find street parking but there was parking by the comedy club then we just walked over to the sushi place a few steps away. Super convenient. I asked the Korean lady who was our server what rolls had unagi and salmon. She proceeded to do the same thing I was doing and look at the menu, which is something I was already doing and hoped we could speed it up by asking lol so don't bother asking, she doesn't know the menu. Nice lady. I found the tiger roll myself and ordered that. Good roll. Bf and I shared that along with I believe the Hawaiian roll. 2 rolls is more than enough for 2 people. My wife and I came here for our anniversary because my sister recommended it a few time. Particular with my sushi spots, I have to say this place deserves a visit. There are few sushi places I have been to where I didn't need soy sauce. the flavors that the rolls came with complimented the roles perfectly. Came on a Friday evening at around 530pm. In the downtown part of bellflower ca. parking is around the back or across from it and don't worry it's free. The food was very fresh lots of variety of rolls baked and noodles and fried rice. The waitress and waiter was very nice brought anything I asked for. Ordered the chirashi bowl on Uber Eats and it was so delicious! Everything tasted incredibly fresh and high quality. I also really appreciated how beautifully they packaged the takeout. I always get to go from this place but I was finally able to try dining in. All the rolls I've tried are yummy and high quality. The prices are worth since you get big portions. If you stop by for lunch skip...the "Not Lunch Special " and enjoy the roll or other favorite. I had the Rainbow Roll, the seaweed was a bit chewy. The 4 chef special was salmon, tuna, yellowtail . I stopped by a few weeks ago to dine with a friend and we absolutely loved it. We enjoyed our lunch there as we shared a bento, unagi bowl, garlic edamame, and a few rolls. We definitely had some leftovers. The rolls were perfect, each so unique and layered with excellent toppings. The unagi was so tender and presented delicately. The teriyaki chicken was juicy and the bento included crispy tempura, cut rolls, rice, and a salad. I also really enjoyed the garlic spicy edamame. Such great flavor! read more

Sat at the Sushi Bar and talked it up with Walter the sushi chef, I should have listened to his recommendations over the waiter but shit happens. The Honolulu roll was massive had a lot of fish but not my vibe when I can't fit the whole roll in mouth haha but then I ordered the logostino lobster roll and that was the best. Especially with some saki and I got the fried rice just to try it and it did not disappoint, the rolls are Buy one get one half off during the week not too bad at all. It was nice to finally try CoCo Ichibanya in Torrance. We were in the area after a long day and headed to check-in to a hotel nearby. We went to order take-out. Parking lot was packed with this and other busy businesses in the same plaza. Take-out orders are done via a tablet that's straight ahead when you walk in. I believe there's also a QR code that can be scanned that will take you to their app to do the same. Immediately to the right when you walk in is the waiting area. To the left is the host/check-in station. It was very busy on this Friday night. Many people waiting to be seated and just as many waiting for their take-out orders. We had to wait for at least 30-35 mins for ours. It felt like longer. I went with chicken katsu curry ($19.30) and added an extra chicken cutlet ($6.31). I was starved by this point in the night. It was good, it was a lot of food but it hit the spot. I just went mild with the curry and it was perfect for me. The extra chicken cutlet broke da mouth and I couldnt even finish all my rice. The pickled radish on the side is a nice palate change. The lady went with a chicken cutlet curry ($19.30) but added gyoza ($3.75 ea) + a vegetable croquette ($3.12). She liked her order but too much food for her to finish. The gyoza was good and the croquette was good size. The curry they use is tasty and it was exactly what we were looking for. Their to-go containers are clever, sectioned off and secure sealed plastic behemoths. It's solid and I hadnt seen one like it. It's deep to hold all the curry and rice. I'm a fan of how they did this. We liked Coco Ichibanya and would go back again whenever in the area. Staff was friendly. The wait was just waay too long that night. They have several tables and counter seating. They could probably fit some more smaller tables. There looked to be space in the middle of the dining area.

When I walked into the restaurant to pick up my order, inside was cozy and I noticed that it was pretty busy for a late Tuesday lunch. A really nice young woman who rang me up and handed me my bag of goods. When I got home, I was pleased to see that they had separated the Katsu from the curry sauce, so my meat didn't end up being soggy. Their curry sauce is different from most curry houses. There are some herbs in it that I can't put my finger on, but I love it because it's not like any of the others. Chicken was juicy and rice was fluffy. I also like their kizami ginger which had a nice solid crunch. Even though it took me a while to pick up my food, it was still nice and warm when I sat down to eat it. Very happy with the presentation and the flavour. We'll try to visit and eat at the restaurant next time. Parking lot is small and can get a little crowded with all the other businesses open. But there is also street parking available. Also, because it's a Japanese restaurant, they are not open on Mondays.

Kikyo Sushi Sake Bar has been a familiar spot for my family, and we used to visit at least 2-3 times a month. The restaurant offers a large array of dishes and the prices are quite reasonable. Tina, the owner, always greets us warmly and goes the extra mile to ensure our satisfaction, which has contributed to the positive experiences we've had in the past. However, our most recent visit on June 16th was an unfortunate one. Our server that day, Connie, displayed an uncharacteristic level of rudeness that left us feeling disheartened and never wanting to return. Despite being loyal customers, we were treated poorly. The incident occurred when we ordered vegetables for our kids, but instead, a fried tempura dish intended for another table was mistakenly brought to us. Assuming it was the vegetables we had requested, we began eating it. Shortly after, Connie removed the dish and aggressively pointed at my 6-year-old daughter, accusing her of eating someone else's food. This kind of behavior was completely uncalled for and unacceptable, leaving us feeling humiliated and uncomfortable. In response, we expressed our concerns to the two new male servers who were working that evening. To their credit, they were genuinely apologetic and tried to rectify the situation. However, the damage had been done, and the unpleasant encounter with Connie overshadowed the rest of the dining experience. We sincerely hope that the management takes our feedback seriously and addresses the situation appropriately. Unless there are measures taken to rectify this issue, my family and I will be exploring other dining options for our future outings. read more

I recently visited Kikyo Sushi Sake Bar in Bellflower and had a great dining experience! We come here about once a month. The ambiance is clean and inviting, making it a great spot for a casual meal or a special occasion. We started with the teriyaki kids plate for my 2 little ones, and it was perfect! I tagged along with my cousin and brother with the intention to play a mobile game where i have to move around and instead i had found a new place to eat Sushi or rolls. The servers were very nice and service was pretty quick. The owner came over to us and made a small conversation which made me feel more welcomed to the restaurant. The food was also great. I had got regular rolls and they were smaller than expected but there are special rolls incase you want bigger ones if you feel really hungry. The sushi rolls were made with poor quality ingredients, and the chef didn't seem to be paying attention to what he was doing. I was shocked to see the chef using his cellphone while preparing the food, and even writing down notes in a notebook. It was so unprofessional. Stopped in for lunch with my wife and daughter, the food was fantastic, we had the ramon, rolls, l and sushimi. $1.00 draft all day, every day. It was my wife and daughter's birthday, Tina (the owner), surprised them with a beautiful plate of ice cream, decorated with fresh fruit.... The service was fantastic. This review is long overdue…read more I've been coming to K. Sushi, formerly Sushi Gallery, for over 15 years at this point. It's locally owned by a family, and I even went to middle school with the owners' kids, which makes it even more special to see how the restaurant has grown over the years. I remember when the dad made the rolls, the mom took our orders and the sons would occasionally be behind the sushi bar learning how to make sushi. Now, it feels like such a full-circle moment. Their twin sons are both sushi chefs and have continued the family tradition and recipes, while their youngest son often takes orders. They've been family-owned and operated since 2005 and recently celebrated 20 years in business. I'm genuinely so happy they're still here! Not much has changed from the menu I grew up with, aside from some recent updates, the K. Sushi rebrand and a new direction incorporating more Korean-Japanese fusion. I'm actually really happy so much has stayed the same. Why change something that isn't broken? I used to come here with my family all the time, and now I come with my boyfriend. We've been to so many sushi restaurants in Cerritos, Long Beach, Orange County, Los Angeles, Seattle, Santa Barbara and plenty of other places, and I can confidently say K. Sushi is still my FAVORITE. One of the first things I notice at any sushi restaurant is the rice. I hate when you pick up a roll and it completely falls apart. That never happens here. You can see the care and quality that goes into every order. Their rolls are packed with fish, seasonings and sauces, and every little creation feels special. My go-to will always be the Rainbow Roll and Dragon Roll. I've tried dragon rolls at so many different restaurants, but only here do I feel like they capture exactly how it's supposed to be made. The eel is warm, the sauce is delicious and everything really packs a punch in flavor. There's also so much more than rolls. They have nigiri, sashimi, hand rolls, bento boxes, combos, sides and some newer fusion specialties. They recently launched a new website, ksushi.menu, where you can easily look through their menu before visiting or ordering. I recently tried their bulgogi sushi and it was SO good! It was warm, filling and reminded me a little of kimbap. I'm excited to see what else they create as they explore this new fusion direction. They also currently have a deal where every two rolls ordered come with a free salad and miso soup. Both are delicious and such a nice addition to your meal. I've ordered their party platter multiple times and think it's affordable, high quality and VERY filling. Every time I bring one to a party, potluck or event, everyone runs for the sushi. It becomes the main event! People always compliment it and say they haven't seen a sushi platter like it before. Sometimes I'm tempted to order the whole platter just for myself. The interior is cozy. There are four tables and plenty of seats at the sushi bar where you can watch your sushi being prepared. There's home made origami on the walls, a little TV playing the news and some music in the background. You're seated right away and there are menus at the table where you can write down which sushi you'd like to order. It's simple and easy. The mom still often takes our order and she is just as kind as I remember, and somehow has not aged in all these years! Everyone else who has taken care of us has also been incredibly kind and sweet. The customer service is always great. Parking is easy and free, it's never overly noisy, ordering is simple and the food comes out quickly. The prices are also great for the quality. For two people, we usually spend around $60 or less and leave very full and happy. This place is truly a hidden gem. I have so much love for this restaurant and coming here feels like home. During the pandemic, I ordered takeout and I'm so glad they survived such a difficult time for restaurants. Every time I visit, I still see plenty of takeout orders going out, which makes me happy, but definitely come in and enjoy the ambiance, watch the sushi being made and experience the great service. After 20 years, K. Sushi is still serving the same family recipes with the next generation now behind the sushi bar. I can't wait to see what comes next. It was sweet, savory, and crunchy in a great way! This was great service, food, and quality for an extremely affordable price. Already red flags started to pop up, with visions of last year's issues floating in my head, so I asked if I could use the promo on a beer, which she replied in the affirmative. Ordering a pint of Blue Moon, I quenched my thirst on a hot August day, and that's when things turned sour. Upon trying to redeem the dining credit via Toast Local app, the beer was denied several times. I asked if my beer could be comped, and told she couldn't. She should have, because it was her mistake, but she did not. I then asked if perhaps the promo isn't valid for beer, and she said that might be the case. So, I decided to order a $5 carne asada taco. Carne asada taco- Tough, old, not hot. The carne asada taco was a terrible excuse for a street taco. Not even worth half the $5 price tag. No bueno. Upon redeeming the promo via Toast Local app for my taco, I was again met with several denials. Porque? What can I redeem the promo on? The employee again explained she was new, and unaccustomed to the birthday redemption. She then took pics of my Toast Local account number & QR code. Paying the $5 plus tax, I was ready to be on my way. Second year, I'm out. Again, I had issues redeeming my birthday month promo, and I've had my fill of Alas Toxicas. I should've been comped for the pint of Blue Moon, seeing how it was no fault of my own the employee didn't know how to input things. It's a very veggie forward pizza, which I was fine with. I was full after two slices. I thought his pizza would be super heavy, but is was not! The base was chili that tasted a LOT like Tommy's, so we were happy with it. There is a layer of cheddar cheese, some pastrami, and lots of pickles. I picked up on the chili flavor more than anything. Lunch was $40 for the two pizzas, a beer, and an iced tea. If we lived closer I am sure we would have them again, but it wasn't great enough to make a trip out to Cerritos again.

On occasions you gave me my chicken bowl teriyaki without the vegetables. Then today, when I ordered the tofu salad you forgot to put the dressing inside the to go container. It was nowhere to be found. I called and inquired about the dressing and I was told it was within the salad or in the bag and it was neither. I thought about going back to get the container of dressing but it wasn't worth it. Please instruct your employees to be more mindful of to go orders.
