This was my first time trying this location. It was unique, to say the least. The hibachi tasted more like teriyaki sauce (sweet); outside of that, the food was bland. I don't understand the concept of having both rice and noodles in the dish, but I guess to each his own. We each got chicken hibachi entree because it included vegetables. I think between both plates we had maybe half of a small zucchini, three petals of an onion and three or fours clumps of broccoli. I ordered the Hibachi Chicken entree. As shown in the picture the chicken looks like it's straight out of a wet dog food can. This is HIBACHI Chicken and not Teriyaki chicken, therefore the chicken should not be drowned in sauce. The chicken it self is drier than a saltine cracker. I am guessing this is why the chicken was drenched in sauce. The vegetables were overcooked, I couldn't tell the difference between broccoli and zucchini. So, I guess that means I love it? I've been here twice now. I order what my son picks, the most expensive thing on the menu (Steak & Shrimp). I uploaded two pictures almost 1 year apart. Your experience will depend a lot on how well the cook prepares it. As you can see the bowl I had a few days ago looks a shit ton better than the one from 2017. The food has good flavor which is the most important thing. The salad thing they give you is a joke. The wait is ridiculous. For real, you could hit up TARGET, come back and still wait 20 minutes for your food. All good things come to those who wait. In closing, keep doing you Hibachi Ichiban! Went to take the first bite & immediately taste like I just licked the salt off the rim of a cocktail. I truly dislike salt. I hardly use it when I cook my own dishes at home. But trust me everything i cook seasoned to perfection, and since this is not about me. Let's stick to the subject. Decided to stop in here , had a taste for hibachi. Checked the reviews online and majority of them were all positive. So we said hey let's try it. Entering the guys were very friendly and professional. We ordered shrimp and scallops with fried rice,noodles, and vegetables. Plus a side salad came with it. Reasonable priced and it also cake with the yum yum sauce and extra terrayaki sauce. At first bite it was delicious. We absolutely enjoyed every bit of it. We now have a new hibachi spot. read more

Heed the other reviews. Salad dressing is horrible. I had steak and chicken... greasy and dry (which I'm not even sure how they accomplished). The veggies within the hibachi was the best part. Really, really terrible hibachi. Portion sizes are great, but the food was so bad this last time that we threw two entire containers of chicken and steak away. Giving it a 4 for the sushi only. I never really order anything else. For the price... you just can't beat it. I have never gotten a bad sushi meal. Only downfall is they only do it on Friday and Saturdays because the owner is the only one who makes it. My favorite rolls are the ones checked in my photo! The salad was the worst part of iceberg alone with decent dressing. My steak was good but the sauce I got had a hole in the bottom and was leaking which made me wonder if it was safe to eat. Just to clarify some of the other reviews, people are reviewing the wrong restaurant under this listing-it is not the buffet on Centralia Road, it is just a basic eat in/takeout hibachi restaurant on Jeff Davis. Having said that! I think this place is amazing. Does it have a great atmosphere, nice decor or even quick service? No, no and no. But is super cheap, generous portions, and very tasty. I usually stick with either the chicken or chicken and steak hibachi entrees, which come with rice, noodles, zucchini, mushrooms and sometimes a bit of broccoli with whatever protein is ordered. Each entree also comes with a "salad", which is just iceberg lettuce and a ginger dressing. I talked to the owner today and he said they will be moving in 2-3 weeks across Jeff Davis to the Breckenridge shopping center. So if you want a tasty lunch under $10, go visit, but please call your order in ahead as they are quite slow! read more

The food and service has gotten really bad over the years. I had to return my food when I was dining in. The only thing that was hot was the steak on my entree. The rice and noodles were cold and the broccoli was mushy as if it had been sitting in liquid. This use to be my go to for hibachi for years, whoever is running the kitchen now is doing a horrible job! Had I took it home to eat it I never would have known it was cold being served. And to make it even worse, they weren't busy while I was there! When I returned the food the two cooks that should have served hot food has an attitude and had some choice words to say in spanish (but I knew exactly what was said). Needless to say I wouldn't recommend unless maybe you are eating there to see what you are actually getting! Food is average but fresh. Prices are reasonable, around $10 for a lot of food. Restaurant is clean. I called to put in a take out order, they answered the phone "Hibachi, hold" and put me on the counter for 5 mins. Fine, whatever. The building is ok, it looks clean. Lots of people working, but only one person taking orders, money, and phone calls. No wonder she is short with people. Food is lacking so badly. Rice is not fried, its steamed (and not all of it is cooked) with a bit of soy sauce in it. Veggies were good, noodles were over cooked and mush. Yum-yum sauce was a good flavor, but there was not enough to bring up the lacking flavor of the rice, a tiny container is all they would give me. I ordered shrimp and scallops. Shrimp was ok, cooked well and had a good sauce. Scallops were so over cooked I ate two and gave the others to my dog. I placed my order at 4:50 pm was told 30 minutes. I paid & asked for my order at 5:24 pm. The young man made me aware that it was going to be another 30 minutes; they didn't even start my order.
