Happened on this spot after shopping at the thrift store in the same plaza. Great miso soup. The sushi was fantastic! The shrimp fried rice was kind of bland; I usually enjoy by itself, but this batch needed some sauce to help it along. Nice staff working here.

You must walk through this filthy curtain to enter. It was only white in the corners. Ew

So I didn't try much, just shrimp tempura... little greasy. No big deal. It's the cleanliness of the place that freaked me out! Shocked no other mentions in reviews. Yet, it couldn't have just been an "off" day bc this dirtiness was all settled in. The white curtain you need to open to get through, was majority brown in the center. The windows & door had finger/hand prints everywhere and the worst was the roach or mouse traps hidden behind a plant at the front door. Makes me wonder what the conditions are in the kitchen.....Not for me.

The service was great! Super sweet and knew when to come to our table. She was like a ninja didn't even notice her full up our waters. The food was great! My bf got the Red dragon roll. His reaction was amazing for someone not too expressive. It's great bc he also can't eat avocados so it's nice finding choices without it. I got the chirashi which came w thick cuts of sashimi and well seasoned rice. The spicy tuna hand roll is a must try! The place is a good size but it'll be nice if it wasn't playing just Chinese music didn't really fit the vibez but hey if ur working a long shift gotta listen to what you want.

I'm so glad the other hibachi place was closed bc this restaurant was so nice. Our waitress was very friendly and accommodating, the hibachi tasted amazing, and their green tea was honestly the best I've ever had and I drink a lot of tea. Their Godzilla sushi roll was as well.

UPDATE: I've returned a year later and this place is very good. The service is on point and the fish tastes great. The sushi rice was a bit wanting, but I've found that to be very common. With sushi - "It's the rice." 8/24/19 I love this place! From Texas and was looking for a quick meal with good friends. Stumbled into Fuji. The server was sweet and the sushi was delicious! I had Spicy Kani Salad, ikura sushi, and the Spider-Man Roll. All were fresh and very tasty. Not sure what the others in my party ordered, but all were commenting on how the food was fresh and delicious. Also good--the green tea. This place is a ducked-off!

Although a little bit far from downtown it is worth the drive. Reasonably priced sushi which at this place they offer daily specials with one roll being half off. I think the flavors and consistency are good my only criticism is that they use the same sauce on all the different sushi so it ends about tasting about the same.

I had the sushi and sashimi combo. Fish was fresh and delicious. Ambiance is not great but the food makes up for it.

Really good sushi, cool ambience and small restaurant. Gives half off certain rolls on certain days, good deal.

The combo platter was made of 3 pieces of sashimi, 3 pieces of sushi, 6 pieces of roll (all same fish). They were fresh and very good. Katsu don was really good! The interiors were simple and clean. Definitely a 5/5 for great service and delicious food.

First, I want to shoutout the incredibly sweet server I get here each time. I don't know her name, but this spot feels family owned and she is always beyond sweet and attentive. There is a lot of free parking out front and near this spot. It's in a sort of strip mall and can be a little confusing to get to, but if you follow your GPS it should be fine. Dining in or takeout are both great options here. You get your food quickly either way. I love their signature purple rice that comes with the sushi here. I also adore their nigiri choices. On my first visit years ago, I got a very yummy dragon roll. On my last few visits, I've enjoyed their avo salmon roll, white tuna nigiri, scallop nigiri, and miso soup. Their fish is fresh and delicious here. I highly recommend getting sushi here.

I ordered the steak hibachi, and while it was okay, the steak was a bit more overcooked than I would have preferred. The gyoza was definitely the best thing we had for lunch. The location itself was really cute, and I liked the vibe and ambiance. However, it was suuuper hot inside the building, which made it a little uncomfortable to sit and eat, especially while eating hot hibachi. The service was fine for the most part, but there was one interaction that felt a little awkward. Since we didn't finish all of our food, one of the staff members asked if we liked it. We told her yes, but she made a face, looked down at our plates, said "hmm," and then took them away. It was a small interaction, but it definitely felt a little strange and left us wondering if she didn't believe us lol. Nothing about the experience was necessarily bad, but between the overcooked steak, how hot it was inside, and the slightly awkward interaction, it landed right around a 3/5 for me. Cute spot, decent portions, and really good gyoza, but there's definitely some room for improvement.

We had a very underwhelming, near disappointing, visit to Bluefish Grill several years ago and was…read morerecommended to give it a try again recently. Definitely wanted to go in with a clean slate, knowing how many things for a restaurant can change in three or four years. I have to downgrade to one star though based on this week's dinner. I really don't see where there's a quality of food, flavor, friendly service or atmosphere that doesn't register as a fail. We were dining with a few other families (the place holds about 8 or so tables max) and another guy I could tell totally loves this place - it's an understatement to say that I don't get it. I really don't. I honestly feel like Gordon Ramsey's "Kitchen Nightmares" needs to go in and explain to them everything they doing wrong - because where do you start... Everything we ordered was overcooked, or cooked incorrectly and was not delicious, much less impressive. Let's be specific - the fried calamari was heavily battered and over cooked, the octopus balls were overcooked on the outside and offered an overly hot unidentifiable soup on the inside, and the fish & chips were basically two overcooked large triangles of thin fish and thick breading so the experience was a crunchy, dry thin processed piece of fried something that, whether visibly or by flavor, had no real indication there was fish present inside the deep fried breaded triangle. Service is beyond blah, it's indifferent. I dont mind the small dive atmosphere whatsoever, but at that point there's actually nothing I can point out of pleasure, value or reward for going here. What a place. Not a single smile, no warm greeting or any sentiment that anyone's glad you're there. No time for you. Just tell me what you want. Despite being a tiny place it does not guarantee your table might be walked by a dozen times while youre obviously ready and waiting to order. It always strikes me when a place is slow to serve you or give you proper attention but quick to bring you your check. I'm glad some people like it enough to keep it in business, but I don't get it. All I see is room for improvement , by which I mean needs for improvement - everywhere. I wish I took pictures of our meal but I didn't want to denigrate or erode the time we were having with a friend of ours. Taking pics of this food would have been too obvious and I really wanted to focus on enjoying our company regardless of the fact that I'm definitely going out again tomorrow night to reset my palate and have a total do-over. *Update, we did head over to The Flying Pig the next night where we can always count on having a high-quality friendly experience - and great good. The next day was Saturday and we went for dinner at Penny Lane Pub, again where we could count on a delicious meal and a welcoming, friendly environment. At that point I had mostly forgotten the regret I had held over from the second and final time we'll ever give Bluefish Grill a shot. The owner's attitude, of saying "then why do you come back", rather than being curious about what they could do better tells it all. An owner who stubbornly asserts everything's perfect, it's the customer who's the problem I've seen before - and in the long term it doesn't bode well for the business.
