I stopped by this Hibachi because I had eaten in a another Hibachi facility in Garner, North Carolina. I must say that I was very disappointed in the food at this facility. My order included hibachi steak and hibachi salmon. I must say that in comparison to a similar order I had in Garner it was terrible. The steak and the salmon were both overcooked and appeared to be previously frozen. I will not be eating at this establishment again and do not recommend it to others. read more

This location only does take-out. To be honest it would be easier to call in your order and pick-up. However, you can walk up to the glass doors and they will take your order just the same. So, as far as COVID19 protocol, they do not allow for you to come into the building or to dine in. However, no one had a mask on inside (the cook or other staff members). We didn't notice until after ordering and looking around. Being that they were behind glass, that would be a call on your own if you believe it to be acceptable or not. From the order to pickup - 15mins. Nothing outside of the norm. We ordered the following tonight: - Hibachi Steak with Broccoli, Onions, Zucchini and Rice - Tempura Chicken (4 bites of chicken, 1 onion ring, 1 Broccoli, and 1 slice of Zucchini) - Crab Rangoon (2 pieces) - Soba Noodle 4 white sauce cups came with the meal 1 cup of sweet teriyaki sauce for dipping We enjoyed everything tonight! Nothing was overcooked or greasy. All was fresh and piping hot! There was plenty in of steak within the Hibachi Steak plate. My only complaint, the cut of meat. There were big cuts of FAT in the mix. Now, for some that might not matter, but for me - nah...let's not. Soba noodles were good and soft. Nothing really to write home about - but a lot better than some I have been too. BUT those crab rangoons! Oh man, they are sooo good! Not to sweet, just the right amount of cheese to imitation crab meat ratio. We love that they roll them like a spring roll instead of the normal triangle. ***If you have ever burned your mouth with LAVA cheese coming out of a freshly cooked rangoon - then you would understand the appreciation here** The tempura was crispy and light. Only complaint, the slices of some of the veggies should be thinner. We got a HUGE chunk of Zucchini that was well uncomfortable to try an bite, you had to cut it up to enjoy it. I believe you got enough white sauce to get the job done, my family believes differently. They stated they were "stingy" with the sauce especially if you going to put it on the rice. Ordered 3 orders of hibachi shrimp. Received no sauce for meal which is truly a highlight for hibachi. It was like having cereal with no milk. One of the guests with me saw the cook picking onions out of her meal and she thought it was fresh. That Let her know it was premixed. Hibachi Chicken White Meat with Zucchini, Onion, Broccoli and Rice that included a drink was like eight bucks...ten with tip. Love that they have four sauces to pump into little cups...a white one (watered down mayo), ginger sauce, a mustard one and hot sauce. I found them all to be useful with the otherwise bland food. Freshly cooked though...simple and good. Especially when mixed with the sauces. Space is limited, but still more than nearby choices. They have tables and booths here. Take in or get it to go. The steak is inedible and tastes like cheap "Steak-Umm" meat. And the meat is sliced really thin and the fat is tossed on the plate with the meat. Gross! Went for lunch at Hibachi Japan. Please was dirty especially at the soda area. Ordered the teriyaki Salmon and rice. Salmon was well cooked but the sauce was super sweet. Vegetables were suppose to be onions and zucchini but there was hardly any zucchini and broccoli was added. Veggies were limp and over cooked. I also ordered the side garden salad but had to return it because the lettuce was all brown in the ends. All the salads were like that so they gave me a refund. I noticed they just took the salad I was returned and put it back in the refrigerator with the others. The manager was unfriendly. The hibachi steak and chicken I ordered was not prepared on the grill when I placed my order... it was cooked well before I walked in the restaurant. The steak and chicken were both stone cold when they handed me my platter (which was ordered in person) very disappointed. Also, even though I told the cashier I wanted hibachi steak and chicken, they gave me hibachi steak and shrimp so I had to correct them on that. ALSO, as soon as they gave me my correct plate which took 5 seconds because they didn't cook it on the grill in front of me, just got a scoop from their buffet behind the counter, another customer had to correct the cashier that they also gave him the incorrect order. Pros: The food was cooked fresh and they were willing to accommodate substitutions. For example, I wanted only zucchini for my veggies, no onions. The portion size was also appropriate. They aren't stingy with their sauce and have a little "sauce bar" where you can get your own if you eat in. Cons: The lady working the counter isn't exactly welcoming, not like my patronage was appreciated. I've had white sauce/yummy sauce before and it's normally a light pink/peachy color from the ketchup and spices they add to the mayo. Their white sauce was just that, white, nearly all mayo which took my breath when I popped the lid off. I got hibachi shrimp with rich and veggies. The food was cooked fresh while I waited for a short 5-8 mins, but it was pretty darn bland. Even the ginger sauce was quite bland, but covering the food in it did give it a little flavor. I usually get the Hibachi Chicken and get white rice. It comes with white meat chicken, onions, zucchini, and broccoli. I love this and add the white sauce. It usually takes a few minutes, so I don't understand these reviews which say it's pre made. I have seen them cooking the food. The person who complained about not getting the check and arguing does not seem right, because this is a place where you go up to the counter and order and you pay. Then you wait for your order. There are not waiters and waitresses. The person must not understand English very well, by the way the review was written. The "white girl" probably did not understand the customer and compensated for it by speaking loudly. The people who had a roach in their take-out I guess could have found one, but maybe it was in their car. Who knows? I have only eaten the Hibachi chicken and steak and they were good. The Hibachi is good and you can be in and out in if you need to. I have only gotten the Hibachi Chicken Entree, so I can't speak for anything else, but it is very good, especially for $6. If you want nice and fancy then go somewhere else and spend more, but Hibachi Japan does a great job for what they are. **They also have self serve white sauce that is free of charge unlike other similar restaurants that typically charge $0.50 and up for one small ramekin.** I would, however, like to see the dining room a little more clean. Ordered the following: Seaweed salad (okay... not the best I have had) Gyoza (only fried... pretty good) Miso (average miso) Crab Rangoon (great) Shrimp and steak hibachi (decent) The hibachi is served in a plate with three partitions. Like a picnic or plate lunch style. I wouldn't care if not for the fact that my hibachi was also partitioned. Steak in one, shrimp in the other, and rice in the third. I am used to them all being mixed. I will ask that they are cooked together next time. Two complaints... steak was cooked well done. Too damned tough and I wasn't asked how the steak should be cooked. I usually request medium rare. The quality of the meat didn't seem poor, just that it was cooked to be uncomfortably tough but I am sensitive to lean meat being cooked beyond medium. Complaint #2... some woman was practically screaming throughout the majority of my dine in experience. The place was clean but this woman incessantly screeching loudly at her coworkers/staff in a foreign tongue was rather grating. Another customer made a comment about it on their way out and they were told that it is "how they communicate." I will go back, and either get the steal medium rare or have chicken instead. Kudos for cleanliness. The cashier should smile a bit as well, but I suppose you get what you pay for, and it is a steal for the price/portions/speed/cleanliness. read more
