Not the best hibachi I've had. Good service, fun chefs, good prices. I've just had better tasting hibachi elsewhere.

This may have changed because I saw something in the paper about "under new management". When we went, the sushi tasted old and the sushi rice was dryed out and didn't seem to be "sushi" rice. The tempura was ok, but greasy. read more

I had the Sushi Dinner here, and it was pretty good. Be wary that it is chef's choice, so you don't get much decision. I got a good variety of sushi, with salmon, tuna, and some other fish. If you are looking for maki sushi, you will unfortunately be unable to get only sushi rolls after lunch. read more

Avoid if you have allergies. I've been here many times and it's always been great food, great service, and a great show. But tonight was a disaster. We told them when we made our reservation that we would have someone in our party with a gluten ALLERGY. We also reminded the person who took our order, the chef, and the manager about the need to avoid gluten. In the past, they made a special meal in the kitchen. This time they said it could all be part of the show. Maybe the gluten-free craze has done some good for those who actually need to avoid it? Soon after the meat started cooking, the chef doused the steak of a person who just wanted to avoid gluten in the standard gluten-containing soy sauce. I was horrified. The chef uttered something along the lines of "oops." Thankfully it wasn't part of the meal of our friend with the allergy and she didn't want to make a fuss. Her meal only suffered from cross contamination. She insisted she could take anti-gluten enzymes and be okay in a few days. I couldn't believe that with all the reminders we gave them and with their insistence that it would be no problem that they screwed up so completely. The gluten sauce shouldn't have even been out there. I know it's a pain for a restaurant to cater to dietary needs, but if you can't handle it just say so. It's hard to have fun watching the hibachi show when you're worried about the people you're with suffering. We trusted this place but we won't make that mistake again. They are either not competent to cater to those with allergies, or they simply don't care. read more

My friend and I ate there last night. Pleasant experience until we got home and became very ill. I called and was told no one ever got sick from their food. And that they couldn't do anything for us. I worked in many restaurants and never heard of a place that no one ever got sick. We had not eaten any food but theirs yesterday. We both got sick hrs after we ate. Service was horrible. We did not have reservations so I expected a wait which was fine. So we decided to have some sushi while we were waiting for a table in the Hibachi area. For 25 minutes we sat there. No one asked for our order. Never did get any sushi. Didn't even get asked if we wanted a drink. We were just ignored. So after 25 minutes of being ignored, we were seated at the Hibachi table. Drink and food orders were taken, but he forgot to bring my beer. I had to remind him 10 minutes later and he couldn't even remember what I ordered. Got our soup and salad soon enough, but it was a long time before the Hibachi chef came to the table to start the meal prep. The entire time we sat there, we were never asked again if we wanted any additional drinks. Food was OK, not great, but with service so bad, I will probably never go back. BTW, speaking of sushi, a new sushi place will be opening soon down by the FedEx Office on Beechmont so that may be where we will go in the future. We love hibachi Master! It may not be the best hibachi I've ever had or the most modern space, but we've never had a bad experience and it's more affordable than other hibachi restaurants. Kids love it, great food, always have coupons in reach magazine. Highly recommended to anyone looking for good hibachi in the area. read more

I really wish I knew where all these good reviews were from. A few weeks ago my husband and I were craving Hibachi and saw the rave about this place. Came on a Wednesday at 5pm, not very busy. But 4 servers looking very lost and confused, running around for just a few tables. The lady behind the desk kept looking at us but did not say hi. We were IGNORED for a good 7 minutes, thinking someone would come sit us, like the normal thing to do or at least say "I'm going to stand here doing nothing for 10 minutes, I'll be with you soon." We walked out. Another couple behind us did too. There must be new owners. read more

This place is a good option when there is not much else. Ok for birthday parties. Servers are not very good and make things more complicated. We played musical chairs for a good 5 minutes. Mediocre sushi. A little pricey, but typical for Hibachi. read more

This place has a good atmosphere and is a good hibachi show. The food was delicious! I would love to give a high rating! But. After eating at this place with 3 friends, 2 ended up sick after eating the shrimp. Kind of a terrible end after what we thought was a good night out :( read more

I love this place! The owners are always welcoming and friendly, and the sushi is as good as it gets! Very fresh, reasonably priced, and the new hibatchi edition is a great place for a gang of people! Two thumbs up! Worst experience I have had at a restaurant. We (4 of us) made reservations for 7:30pm on New Years. After waiting until 8:00pm for our names to be called, I walked up and asked what the holdup was since we had reservations. He claimed that there were still 3 groups of 7 in front of us that had to be seated (these were people who had walked in). I kindly asked the host what the point of making a reservation was if they couldn't stick to the time slots. He responded and said they take reservations for every 45 minute timeslot, and they couldn't have anticipated "who shows up to their restaurant". I looked down at his reservation sheet to find that they had booked reservations for EVERY 10 MINUTES...this seems like an odd way to structure your business when it takes 1.5 hours to turn over your hibachi grills...I caught him in a lie about the reservations and called him out on it. POOR BUSINESS, POOR MORALS, and POOR ETHICS. Like many others on this site, BEWARE: not sure if the BOARD OF HEALTH does any review of this place, but they need to. I watched an employee knock over a stack of napkins and silverware onto the floor, look around to see if anybody saw, and then put them all back in with the other "clean" napkins and silverware. They then proceeded to allow customers to come up and grab out of that bin what they needed to eat with - they also handed these items out to customers as well...keep in mind that I watched a parent pass a spoon to their child and I had to go over and stop them from using their silverware. Needless to say, the family left, and so did we. I reported the incident to the manager who did nothing about it, and continued on with his business. Last, the tables were dirty, the floor was sticky, and we saw a few bugs crawling around. DO NOT EAT HERE. read more

This is one of our favorite spots! the hibachi is always fantastic and they put on a great show. The white sauce is the best in the cityand the steak is delicious. They do teppanyaki on one side, but they also have another side where you can just order a plate or sushi. The sushi is really fresh and they have many options, half price twice a week. Food was tasty. Service was nice. Here's the complaint that I'm sure they will resolve. I felt rushed. We hadn't even sat down and they already asked us if we wanted drinks. And I felt like if I didn't decide exactly what I wanted in five seconds they'd add labor costs to my bill! As soon as we asked for an app it was there. As soon as we decided what we wanted the chef was there. The food hadn't all be consumed and the bill was there. I said to my gf, if the place was packed, I could understand, but it isn't. It is a quiet night. So I'm assuming there is an inept manager who grew up on myspace, facebook, twitter, and whatever else is current and thinks his next stop is CEO of the global restaurant business, because that's what his society told him. No hard feelings bro/sweets, but that ain't the case. Think independent. Teach your help to recognize what the customer wants, and deliver it. But like I said, the food was decent - nothing to write home about - but decent. And the staff was very nice. read more

My husband and I used to eat here pretty regularly, and would spend quite a bit of money when we did. We went for sushi so, I am not sure how their habachi is. The atmosphere was kind of depressing, but the service was okay. I didn't like that their kids were running around all over the restaurant, but I typically ignored it and tried to not let it bother me. We decided to never return due to their staff being incredibly rude to us. Someone ordered something that looked different and we were looking at the menu to try to figure out what kind of roll the guy ordered. We asked one of the staff what the guy ordered. He told us it was from "special menu" and snatched the regular sushi menu from my husband's hand. Clearly, our regular patronage was not only unappreciated, but we were also undeserving of their "special menu" and anything on it. If you do decide to give this place a try, remember the staff is very sensitive about people who inquire about what other diners might be eating. Tread lightly, and it would probably be wise to avoid asking any questions at all. read more

Very Dirty! Went for a birthday and ate at the Teppanyaki tables. First thing that I noticed is how filthy, dirty this restaurant is. Does the Board of Health EVER do an inspection at this facility. I honestly, couldn't eat because of the filth. Will NEVER go back. It's a real shame because I think it could have real potential. read more

We just ate at their new hibachi table and we really enjoyed Franky, the chef. The food was great, the service was impeccable. I have been a long time customer and I used to love the sushi here however that is no longer the case. Several months ago I got Chicken Teriyaki and sushi carry out. The chicken teriyaki was for my son and when he chewed on it there was broken glass in it! He almost swallowed it and we threw away the rest. When I called they were apologetic and could not explain the broken glass in my food and said I would get a free meal next time. Naturally I avoided returning for a long time after this very disturbing incident. Today I finally decided to try the sushi again and they did not recall the glass incident and would not give me a free meal as promised. I was willing to try to get past the whole glass in my food incident but now that I had to pay for my sushi and using my corporate credit card because I forgot my personal one and I explained how difficult it would be to charge a personal expense to my company card and they did not care. I also advised them that as a result I would never return to their restaurant and again they did not seem to care. It's bad enough that my son almost swallowed broken glass by eating there but then when it came time to try to make it up to me they added insult to injury. I just finished the sushi or part of it anyway and I am disappointed to report that the sushi has really gone downhill so there is really no upside left to this restaurant in my opinion and based on my experience. I will never eat there again and I would urge others to also use extreme caution if eating there as well. Worst dining experience I have ever had that I can recall in the US anyway. The sushi isn't that good I will find somewhere else. Foreign Exchange gave me food poisoning a while back so hopin another good Japanese sushi place opens in Anderson Township! Fast forward to the same evening and I got sick not really sick so far but very upset stomach and I'm pretty sure it was the sushi. You know when you have a bad feeling eating something and stop before you finish thinking you might regret it later? Anyway another compelling reason to reconsider going here.
