I just got home from Hibachi Master, and it was amazing. Yes most hibachi style restaurants are the same but this was a very pleasant experience. My boyfriend and I as well as his parents had a reservation for four. After we arrived we were seated promptly and met with a very kind waitress. After ordering the chef came out and started making out food. Super fun and entertaining! We were given so much food everyone was stuffed and took a box home. The quality of food was amazing !!! Ugh. The four of us went here on 6/6/17 at approx 720p for my teen age daughter's birthday dinner. We walked in and three employees were in the area. No one greeted us, despite us standing there for a couple minutes, which seems an eternity when you haven't even been acknowledged. We finally went to the woman standing at a podium. We asked if this was where to check in, and she plainly asked if we had a reservation, we did not. The restaurant was less than half full, on a Tuesday evening at 730p. She replied it would be about 15 minutes. Not "oh, ok, it'll only be about 15 minutes", but "it'll be 15 minutes". No one there gave us a glance, we had to approach staff to see if we could eat there, and then staff made no effort to assure us it would not be long. We decided to leave and go elsewhere. This is the second "odd" experience we've had here. The first time, approx two months ago, we were seated with another family who was celebrating their son's birthday. He appeared to be around 12. They would not honor their offer of a free birthday dinner because he didn't have proper id. Yeah, he didn't have his school id or whatever preteens are supposed to carry to prove their age. Although this didn't happen to us, it became very awkward, because management absolutely would not budge on this. They saved themselves $20, but likely lost the business of a family of five. They've definitely lost our business. read more

Well, after our awful Christmas experience, we waited a while before we returned. We took my daughter and son in law there tonight for dinner. I'm not sure who is managing at this point but it has really gone downhill. The service was awful. I don't think there was enough staff for the Hibachi area. We waited at least 30 minutes before even getting soup or salad. Refills on drinks was nonexistent. When we finally did get a chef to cook, everything was rushed. The fried rice had a little bit of egg and some soy sauce and that was it. Took about 1 minute to make and was very bland. Meat was ok, but the vegetables were basically raw. Wish the prior management would come back as this used to be a great place to dine. Overall a very underwhelming experience. read more

I'm a regular here and today I came in and found 2 hairs in my fried rice and the waitress came over and said that no one there has brown hair, suggesting that I was lying. She still made me pay for my food and made me feel belittled and unwelcome. Will not be coming here again. read more

Fantastic food! Very entertaining and friendly chef who made the meal fun. I had the scallops and they were perfectly cooked. BF had steak & shrimp which was also tasty. Great time. Went with one other adult and 5 kids under the age of 8. The kids had a ball! The cook made it so much fun for them. Food was fresh and good. Gave it a 3 star only because I felt the kids prices were a little high (I thought) but the entertainment factor made up for it. I think it was $8.95 per kid for chicken, veggies and white rice My meal was around $16 for the shrimp hibachi which did include salad and miso. The kids did get miso which was fun for them to try. I frequent this establishment once a week for sushi takeout, and have been going here for the better part of 6 years. Not once have I ever been disappointed with the quality of food. The prices are reasonable, and the selection is vast. They have over 70 varieties of sushi and sashimi. They have other items as well, but let's be honest, you're here for the sushi! I strongly recommend their dynamite rolls and the spider rolls. read more

We owed this place a review long ago. They have been our absolute, hands down, favorite restaurant for 6 years since we moved to Anderson Township. Their food is incredible. We even began a family tradition long ago of taking my entire family of 18 here every year when they are in town for the holidays. We love it so much that we want to share it with everyone. It is our go-to birthday spot, pre celebration spot, and even our our-families-don't-do-anything-on-certain-holidays-so-we-go-to-Hibachi-instead spot. If you have never been here or are questioning visiting, do yourselves a favor and go. The dining area is clean, the food is well prepared, and it is enjoyable for everyone, young and old alike.They will let you take sake shots from a water bottle before dinner--everyone does it, and it is so much fun. Even our family members who tend to be slightly uptight have eventually let loose after enough visits and eagerly welcome the sake shots. My husband and I go constantly, and our family has now decided it is their favorite and a must visit when they come in town. Sure, maybe 1/20 visits they will be too busy to seat you at exactly 7 pm for your reservation time, but it is only because they get incredibly busy and are trying their best to accommodate everyone. I am not one to write a negative review but we came here over another place due to the 4.5 star rating and glowing reviews. I am giving this place two stars and that is being generous, mostly because our server was an extremely polite hs kid. What was wrong with this place? Where do I begin...there were two other people dining in the whole place, it was totally dead. Our appetizer, calimari was was almost non existent. Seriously, it was so small I was laughing out loud. Not only was the portion miniscule, it was waaay over fried (did not know that could happen but it just did). The dipping sauce was good, I'll give them credit where it is due. I love a simple salad with ginger dressing but this was swimming in it. I took a few bites and realized it was inedible. Moving on to the main course..... husband ordered seafood fried rice, he did order the sand it came with, so they did not clean the scallops. I had a volcano roll that was forgettable. Too much sauce and just not that great. We knew better than to order dessert though they did have mochi on the menu. The best part of the evening besides the company of my husband was Graeter's! It could have been an off night, but 3 strikes and you're out in my book. It's not a cheap date so I would think twice about coming here. I would definitely not make a special trip to Anderson to eat here. There are too many other great sushi restaurants and hibachi grills in this town. read more

I normally love this place, but tonight was a dud. It was busier than normal (still seated immediately, but not as empty as usual) and the whole place fell apart. I ordered a sushi entree and my wife asked to start with sashimi and then to have a hibachi entree. After about 10 minutes, my sushi entree arrived. Her sashimi arrived 10 minutes after that and was way too thick. Since my wife had not received her entree, I picked at my food as slowly as possible. It's common for hot and cold dishes here to arrive a few minutes apart, but even with me slow rolling it, I eventually dawdled my way through my entire dinner. About twenty minutes after I finished, the server came to clear my plate and we asked for our check. We got an apology because they were "busy". If you can't handle being at 80% capacity on a Friday night, we can go to one of the other fifty hibachi places in the area. read more

Fairly good hibachi restaurant. I actually think this place is better than Benihanas and the cooks here are more entertaining. I am still not a huge hibachi fan but thought that the food and service was good. We also just walked right in and had a table, which is something that never happens going to Benihanas. So overall a solid "A-Okay 3 stars", nothing that overly stands out though not horrible. If any of my friends wanted to go back I would join. read more

In town celebrating my daughters 18th birthday with a trip to kings island she wanted to go to a Japanese place with hibachi grills and after searching on Yelp and reading many reviews I decided on this place. We didn't arrive until 8:45-9:00 on a Wednesday night when they closed at 10:00 so first I have to say I was very pleased they had no problem seating us that close to closing time and genuinely seemed happy to do so. Our drink orders were taken promptly and brought to us, we then ordered our dinner, me getting steak, my daughter getting their steak, shrimp & scallop combo and her friend getting the chicken. Our soup and salad came out promptly followed by our chef. This was my daughters friends first time at this kind of restaurant so she was excited to see what it was all about and I must say our chef didn't disappoint. He started off with your typical clanking of the spatula & knive however he dropped the spatula on the floor and thankfully didn't pick it up and keep going, instead he grabbed a new one from the cart :-), next was the egg roll however when he started to pick it up to bounce it on the spatula again he dropped it and cracked it, lol my daughter & I knowing this was another OOPS on his part were amused my this as it was actually a nice stray from the normal "show" that's put on at most hibachi places but that would not be his last mistake of the night, when he tried to start the large fire his flame wouldn't light then when he did the onion tower, again his flame gave him problems and once lit, it went out before he was able to grab his little fireman to put it out. I truly hope he was not embarrassed by all the little mishaps because it honestly was one of the best shows we have seen and I simply chalked it up to it being the end of the night. Now as for the food, EVERYTHING we ordered was wonderful, I truly enjoyed their yum yum sauce and the steak, shrimp & scallops were great as was the fried rice, the only reason I didn't give a 5 star is because while the regular dining room was nice and cool the grill side was really warm to the point of sweating which made it alittle uncomfortable as I don't like to eat when I'm hot however I wouldn't let it keep me from coming back again next time I am in the area. read more

Hibachi Master is a family owned restaurant that features Sushi and Hibachi. The owner is onsite every day and every hour that they are open. You can sit either at one of their many Hibachi tables, sushi bar or restaurant tables and have access to the full menu. I don't know of any other Sushi restaurant where the Owner makes every single item, every single time. Fish is always fresh and nothing is off limits. If you can dream it, they will make it. If you are there late into the night, the owner will stay open and not rush you whatsoever. We have stayed hours past his closing time and were still able to put orders in. Nice at atmosphere. Good place to bring kids. They have a little play area for them. Rice was some of the best I have had in a while. I go to a lot of hibachi steak houses and this was some of the best rice I have had. Steak and scallops were great. Underwhelmed by the chicken. Very plain and not much teriyaki sauce on it. Went there for lunch with a coworker. There was 1 other table in the place and the working there made it seem like we were an inconvenience for wanting to have hibachi. Good was great, portions we're was too small for what the normal is at these places. I would try it again for dinner because if the food quality l, but not worth going back to for lunch. read more

Definitely not worth the 50 minute drive we made to go to this restaurant. The hibachi was mediocre - a bit flavorless. The price was a bit high for what you got. Everything was just subpar. The highlight was getting peed on by a plastic toy that was shaped like a boy with his pants down. The portions of rice and veggies are usually huge at hibachi places, but we barely got any rice or veggies to go with the meat. The sushi was half off if you didn't eat in the hibachi portion of the restaurant, but if you ordered hibachi, the sushi was full price. Run by Chinese, Not actually Japanese. We had to ask for hot sauce five times before they brought any. The next day, the trip to the bathroom confirmed the quality of the meal. read more
