I stopped here for lunch. Tried something different other than street tacos. I ordered a bowl. It came with chicken, filet mignon, Carr, broccoli,zucchini.and a variety of chili sauces. The cook doesn't add any salt, but he does add Q a lot of soy sauce, which makes everything salty. The meat was tender. They vegetables had a crunch to them. You can choose your meats and type of rice. For a food truck , they offer a variety of choices. The cook was friendly and will offer you advice if you are not sure what to order. He is bilingual. You can ask for less soy sauce to cut back on the saltiness of your food. read more

Let me start by saying I understand that costs have gone up and the economy has changed. I've been coming to this food truck and supporting the business for over three years. I've stuck with them through price increases and even adjusted by only ordering what I could afford -- mainly the chicken bowl. However, tonight will be the last time I attempt to support this business. I ordered my usual: two chicken bowls with fried rice -- Yum Yum sauce for my wife and garlic butter for myself. The cashier told me my total was $30, even though it used to be $20, then $22, $24, and just last week $26. When I asked about the increase, she said there's now a $1 charge for upgrading to fried rice per bowl and $1 for sauce. I pointed out that the posted sign clearly says the bowl comes with a sauce. Her response was, "I'll give you the $2 if you're going to complain." At that point, I was done. I asked for a refund and to cancel the order. They called Felipe, who confirmed the sale was voided and that I'd receive my refund. It's disappointing to see a business I've supported for years change like this. I love a good food truck and this one definitely has the potential to be great but they need to lighten up on the garlic and the salt. I understand It's very easy to be heavy on the salt with Japanese cuisine because many of the sauces are very salty but this was beyond just too much salt from a sauce. And the flavor of the food was lost because it was masked by heavy garlic. The GOOD: * The quality of meat was great, I ordered filet mignon and it was very tender, great in texture, cooked perfectly and was clearly a quality cut of meat. * Food truck was very clean and orderly and so convenient. *Food came out quickly and piping hot. The NOT so good: * Terrible first impression, the lady who was taking orders was so unfriendly and unhelpful and just didn't make a great first impression. * Pricing is not clear. They had two very small menu boards one of them did not have prices on it and the other one was partly filled out but very confusing and hard to understand. They would List a price and then everything was an additional price. I didn't make sense. (next to the bowl it said $10+, I ordered a fried rice bowl with filet mignon and it was $19. So basically if I didn't add the nine dollars for the fillet you're telling me of one bowl of rice would've been $10? They should price it including a meets and then if you want to upgrade they should list it that way. I thought it was slightly over priced (for what I ordered) considering there were only eight pieces of meat on my bones (yes I counted) they really need to be more clear with their pricing. * I do love a carb, the fried rice is always my favorite part at any kind of hibachi restaurant... So the fact that about 70% of my rice went in the trash definitely says something. The rice was undercooked it was not your typical fluffy Japanese sticky rice. It was like a cheap uncle bens and it had a slight crunch to it, not a crunch from being fried but a crunch from not being cooked thoroughly. * WAY TOO MUCH GARLIC (and I love garlic but this was over the top I might be a bit spoiled because we have two of the most amazing Japanese Teppan hibachi style restaurants within about 5 miles of where I live (in Orange County) so I did go with the three stars because I really feel like this place has some potential, but they need to make some changes. read more

Let's go in - First let's discuss the pricing. I've never paid $30 for a bowl of rice and noodles in my life before. My bowl was filled with what seemed to be endless rice, a splash of noodles and nothing else. I swore I asked for the New York (beef) and chicken. For this price I would have much rather went to the real Benihana's, at least that way I would have been at least satisfied. Secondly, the service was unsatisfactory! Nestled right in the corner of a large parking lot on busy PCH between a gas station, this place is definitely hard to miss. One would think the line for this truck would be stretched all the way to Mount Kilimanjaro. NOPE!!!!! And now I know why. The woman who took the order didn't even speak or understand English well. When I asked her for a menu she simply shook her head and smiled. I asked what kind of veggies does the combination plate come with and she shook her head and smiled. At this point, I should have known to take my business elsewhere but because I was immensely famished and was in need of sustenance, I had to give it a shot! Seriously, if you can't understand simple questions about the food and menu then please find someone who can. Lastly, I will say the food was freshly prepared. However, I can assure you that the only seasoning that was used on the entire bowl was salt. Okay I lied, they used a ton of salt and a splash of butter. I am not sure how this truck has 4.5 stars on Yelp but there was nothing about the food, service or pricing that warranted such a high rating. LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS PLACE ! I always get chicken and shrimp combination plate with fried rice and grill veggies and my boyfriend get a steak and chicken combination plate with fried rice and veggies. One plate would be more than enough for two people but we get one each so we can have some left over for later. I personally have had a great experience here. Oh my gosh. I cannot rave about this place enough. I've had it twice in the last 5 days because I love it so much. Cooked to order and with care every bite is incredible. Worth every penny, and I usually get two meals worth because the portions are HUGE! This is the best hibachi chicken I have ever tried and the rice is flavorful. I usually get the chicken and NY steak with fried race (GET THE FRIED RICE, WORTH THE UPGRADE) and it has never been bad or off or anything. On top of the great food, the customer service is amazing. When I asked the lady for my phone call order she said she SOLD my order to someone else because i took too long. 10 minutes past the time is too long?? said she would have to make it again. That really upset me cuz the whole point of a phone call order is to pick up quickly, and I always do phone orders at other places and pick up not at exactly the time they give and never have they sold my order to someone else. I happened to be by there around lunch time for work so I gave it a try and I'm glad I did. It was definitely a bit of a splurge at $30 but it was worth it. I ordered the ny steak and shrimp combo with fried rice and it was delicious. Definitely go with the garlic butter and yum sauce. It's a small business and they make your food fresh and it is really delicious and worth the money. The portions are also really large since they fill your plate to the top so you can make two meals out of this. You can taste the quality in their ingredients. I ordered through Door Dash sometimes I wonder if the experience of takeout dies not go as well as Dine-in I see all the great reviews but that was not the case for me. I ordered for me and my daughter and I thought it was just me but my daughter mentioned to me she felt like it was a step above Panda Express. First thing I ordered 2 meals and they were mixed up. I wanted rice I got Noodles my daughter wanted Noodles she got rice...easy fix. We ordered out separated sauces and an extra one for each of us. It should have been 6 we got 4. For me the garlic butter & ginger was salty the chili garlic was almost a saracha. I didn't get my sauce inlaid extra for. There was a nice amount of Shrimp but very little chicken for me. My daughter ordered steak it was a small portion as well. I've never ordered from here so did realize it comes with veggies I feel like there was nothing that indicated that so we ordered a side of veggies. The veggies had sooooooo many carrots too many to be honest. I feel like carrots are ok but when you get too many it's a cheat out of the other better veggies. For $75 which is decent price it was not at all worth $75 but of course because I doordashed it it was $107 waste of money.
