ANOTHER FIVE STARS for Dominique's Sweets! She makes French Macarons & Handmade Pastries and Pies!…read more AMAZING!!! I again visited the St. Helena / Napa Valley Farmer's Market on a Friday morning. The FIRST thing that I headed to was Dominique's booth! She has the Nation's BEST macarons and treats. First, you should know that I'm a French Macaron SNOB. I'm proud of it. I've eaten macarons from Lette', Bouchon, Le Pattessire, and several other specialty stores. I've even taken macarons classes from Sur La Table and have been making macarons for 2+ years. Hands down, Dominique's macarons are the BOMBSHADIGGIDYOMGDELICIOUS! Each of her flavors of macarons have a super crunchy shell with chewy insides. Each of the flavors are AMAZING! Her macarons are $1.75 each. She could easily charge $3 per macaron, because they are large (almost 2.5-3" in diameter). Lemon Curd: Tart and delicious! Sea salted Caramel: OMG - delicious and fun to eat! Apricot: Topped with lavendar and fresh fruit flavors! Chocolate: Classic and simple. Rose: One of my favorites!!! Made with quality rose oil! Lavendar: Floral and fresh! Love it! Check out her pastries, lamb meat pies, and other stuff. I was also impressed with her home-made pies - 1) Berry combination (blackberry; boysenberry; blackberry?), 2) Berry Pie (Rasberries; black berries; and blueberries?), 3) Cherry pie. Each pie is $20 with a $3 deposit for the glass pie pan. They look sooo delicious and worth it! The best part of my experience was talking wtih Dominique. She is very humble and knoweldgeable about baking. She's always welcoming and kind. She is also willing to offer baking tips if you ask! THAT is class! Food Grade: A+ AMAZING! Service Grade: A+ Dominique is #1 in her field. Worth the Money Grade: A! I'd pay more for her products! Overall Impression Grade: A! I'll see you again soon!

This is the kind of place with soul where you can relax in the shaded or sunny courtyard outside with a glass of wine or bubbles if you decide not to do a tasting. They were originally making olive oil and still do but eventually became a vineyard. There is a peaceful little garden outside and there are even pigs to say hello to. There were a lot of little table outside that could probably be reserved for dinners. At least thats how i imagine it but its worth asking. It steps from town.

We were given a sampling of three different wines to try, and ultimately decided on the sparkling for a glass as we walked the gardens. There was hardly anyone else there as it was late in the day, but it felt peaceful as we strolled and as if we had the whole place to ourselves. While the wine was quite good, what really makes this place stand out is their olive oil, the pollinator garden, and of course - Petunia the pig. As animal people, we gravitated to her and felt it was hard to pull away from her adorable grunts as we scratched her to sleep. Thankful for the downtime experience and excited to try the olive oil we purchased now that we're home!
