This review is for the groomers. Used to be a good place to have my dog groomed. I guess the previous groomers no longer work for them because yesterday they were all new faces and young ones. New groomers with probably no experience handling medium to large size dogs. We have a norwegian elkhound/husky mix dog who is a frequent customer in this place. We always book the same service-bath/brush/furminator. They called to have our dog picked up as soon as possible because she was very stress and vomited once. She hates hair blower and having her paws trimmed and the old groomers already know that. They however they still managed to have her almost dry every time we pick her up. However, yesterday when she was pick up half her body is still mostly wet. Furminator was obviously not done because a lot of clumped second coat hair are sticking out. And they said she vomited 2x. I don't know why she became so stress to vomit 2x. This is a first for her. I suggest they train their new groomers well first before letting them handle bigger dogs or hire experienced dog groomers. So much for paying extra for a service which was not done and giving tip on top of that. My husband gave them a 25% tip because according to him the groomer was complaining a lot. i'm giving 2 star just because we are old customers and we used to like this place. read more

I've brought my two year old American Staffordshire here twice now for grooming. The first time, the experience was very unremarkable and honestly I wasn't sure if the woman who did my service actually did it but i had nothing to compare it to. This time around I tried someone different and she was amazing. Ahjee was very communicative and did a thorough job. She asked a lot of questions before and gave me a rundown after which I didn't get the first time. She seems to have a genuine care for the animals in her care. I took my dog here yesterday after not going for a few years due to pandemic. I dropped my puppy off at 9:00 am and when I got her back a few hours later. I get home and noticed a big chunk of hair cut from her chest. She is literally bald in this one section. Her eye brows are uneven cut and long in spots. This hair cut looks as if the groomer was in class first time. I was too livid to return to them because if I had. It would have been a big deal. I need to calm down first. They did not say anything about the missing chunk of my dog hair from her chest. I got home to realize it. What kind of business does crap like this??? DO NOT GO HERE FOR VACCINES ,they partner with shotvet for pet vaccines and it is a waste of time. Went online and registered to secure a spot ,said 12:30-1:30 . They tell you if you pay in advance it'll make it go faster yet you can only pay in advance for their packages not single vaccines. Showed up at 12:30 and they separated the people who prepayed from the ones who did not. They took about 10-15 people from the prepay line before even 1 person from the other line .Tried to get one of the employees attention to ask why that was and he completely ignored us multiple times until we raised our voice then he when it finally got his attention and we asked why is this line getting completely ignored he turned around and walked away . There was only about 3 of us in line for that didn't pay ahead and the other line just kept getting longer and longer even an hour later more people kept coming and they said they have to take all of them before us even though we were there more than an hour before.One lady went into the line for prepayed and even said she did not prepay and they said oh thats fine even though the rest of us that stood in the correct line had waited way longer than her and their response again was prepay is priority BUT THERE IS NO OPTION TO PAY FOR SINGLE VACCINES WHICH IS AN ERROR ON THEIR END . Overall great visit all the way around ! Worker complimented my bag he loved beetle juice too lol. Workers were extremely friendly, and store was cleaned up. The animals lights go out as soon as the store closes in summertime so I got to see that ! This visit I purchased cuttlebone and a compacted coconut fiber block for my land snail :D ! This store has a huge selection for dogs but also for reptiles , birds , etc.! Definitely would recommend you buy your pets products here ! Marissa has been our groomer at PetSmart for several months. We took our Jarvis in for his pedi as he has really thick black nails, and it's difficult for us to trim them. Yesterday we took in Luna for a spa day. Cattle dogs have quite a bit of shedding, and we want to get them ready for Spring. Next week is Rebel's turn! They do health checks and quarantine their animals before selling them. 1 of my piggies clearly came from an abusive home, but all his wounds were healing nicely before I was able to purchase him. The store had an abundance of sales tags throughout the store and it turns out it was ringing up to reflect. The cashier said they would honor amd needed a key the manager came up and denied the sales price because she misplaced the items or failed to remove the sales tags. Then refused to sell a cart full of full priced items and refused to provide her name "Gloria" thankfully her staff shared with me. I've been taking my dog here for two years to get groomed and it took awhile to find a groomer here that I liked. Eventually, I took Koop in to see Lou. Lou is the best groomer and my doggo always leaves looking the best and super happy when they groom my boy. Highly recommend them for grooming. read more

Zero stars are what they deserve. I only continue to shop here because my fur babies need a certain kind of hay and food. Today, I picked up my online order, and when I checked it, items were missing. On top of that, the rude cashier was so busy flirtjng with a male customer that she tried to ring me up for the items I already paid for. When I proceeded to try to tell her that it was items from my online order, she had an attitude and was disrespectful. She's lucky I didn't curse her out. Cashiers fail to pay attention to their job here and have no customer service skills. I am sure she will not be there when I return because they have a high turnover rate. I took my happy 11month old Malshipoo here to get groomed. His cut was absolutely beautiful and I really loved it. However when my puppy can home he wasn't happy. He stayed in his kennel for 4 days, today I got a little worried because he wasn't eating much or drinking water. I took him to the vet today and the doctor said nothing was physically wrong with him. I don't know what happened during grooming but my dog didn't like this place. read more

I was charged $70 for a dog groom and my dog came back in the same condition. First she told us 15 minutes, which after talking with a manager we found out it would take an hour. There wasn't a single hair trimmed, nail clipped, or even a wash. This is by far THE WORST SERVICE I have ever encountered for dog grooming. I had a HORRIBLE experience with the so-called trainer Kathryn. SAVE YOUR MONEY, GO TO A DIFFERENT LOCATION. After speaking with her by phone, all she said was that the pet wasn't needed for the potty training class, that it was for adults. Okay. I get to the class at 1:45, which was early. I brought my puppy inside because it was about 200 degrees that day. He's only 4lbs and fits in the crook of my arm. First, Kathryn was late. Myself and another gentleman were the only students. We're standing outside the class just watching all the dogs and their owners shop. She arrives at 2:07 and goes in on me about my puppie's vaccination papers. I said oh he's not participating he'll just be in my arm.. I didn't even bring his papers. I wasn't expecting him to participate it's just so hot in the car. She says well do you have them on your phone? I can make you another appointment. I'm like, no, I have paid my money and we've been here waiting for you, so no i don't need another appointment..i dont understand! then she addresses the other customer about me saying, she's being rude, isn't she? And he said, um, no, i dont think so....then I said fine, I will just go put him in the car and crack the windows..she goes yes the class is only an hour. When I return, she's not even in the class, and the other customer says she had to leave and go get her supplies for the training! We both thought she should've had those ready when she arrived! So more waiting...I'm not happy, with more waiting, and she probably heard us complaining because as soon as she walked in with her supplies she says to me, you can LEAVE! I am shocked and appalled. I am retired; and have worked for the SFPD and other SFCity locations over 30 years, and have NEVER been put out of a store. Her behavior, demeanor, attitude, is Deplorable. Even though I mentioned there were all sorts of various dogs WALKING AROUND THE STORE, why is my tiny puppy bothering you? I had him in the crook of my arm. Never intended to put him on the floor. I came here to buy bunny food. The parking is great here because it's not so busy. The store was really clean and wide isles. I think they focus more on dogs and cats. There was one isle for all other pets. There were some workers and they were stocking items. No one really asked to f they could help but I approached a worker and she was helpful. They are always willing to help and answer my dog questions. The check out lines can get long at times but they are pretty good about getting another cashier when that happens. I was looking for new groomer since mine moved. I did a simple bath blowout brush that includes ear cleaning, anal gland expression, sanitary trim nail cut that I upgraded to grinding. I asked them not to clean/pluck his ears or express glands we have a appointment with vet this month. First of all the lady told me she was busy and it would be quick 1-1.5 hours. I thought that was rude considering I made a appointment and was not a walk in client. When I picked him up his ears were still wet and so was his mouth. No sanitary trim was done and paws weren't very clean. Only thing I was happy about was nail grinding. We decided to bring our 8 year old doxiepoo (adopted 2 months ago from a shelter) for his first professional grooming. I was worried because he is reactive to dogs/cats. During the in-take process, Danielle allayed my concerns by explaining the options available to make my pup more comfortable while in her care. When I returned to pick up my pup, I was amazed at the transformation in his appearance. The cut was so great he looked like he was ready to participate in competitive dog show. Standard place to get pet supplies. It's still a little pricey than getting it online, but still a great place to go in a pinch. Lines can be long at times, but generally they go pretty quick. If you're looking for prescription foods, you won't find it at this location. Found out the hard way. The PetSmart of n Brentwood was the only one that carries prescription food. You need to get a card from the animal hospital in the PetSmart. It usually requires updating the card every 6 months regardless. I noticed the prescription foods go quick, best to either call ahead to have them hold it for you or try ordering it online. read more

To be honest, it is really hit or miss with this specific Petsmart site. For the most part, the staff are polite, social and "sometimes around" to get assistance. On a few different occasions, I would just walk in grab what I need and head to the front registers. No issues no problems, I would say in and out in 15 minutes. However, on two different days last week, I needed some assistance in the aquarium dept, nobody around and when I walked to the front to request some assistance needed in a different department, register staff seemed annoyed to have to page someone to assist me. This wasn't on a busy Saturday or Sunday morning but on a weeknight after work. Although a bit frustrating, maybe I came at the wrong time when someone was on their break and staff had to cover multiple areas by themselves. I like this store because it's convenient, close by the house and usually have what I need in stock. The only thing is that when you need assistance or questions about a specific product or need person-to-person assistance,They are all like Home Depot LOL! Buyer beware! I'm not sure if it's a management issue but This specific PetSmart will place any returned items back on the shelf without so much as checking if the items are resealable. I have had experience buying wet, broken, and damaged products that were marked the same as "new and unopened" ones. Always keep your receipt! Better yet, just drive a few miles to the next PetSmart and leave this place alone, I'm sure the people here are nice but what they're selling isn't worth anyone's money. read more
