Oh, dear, my cheese palate has been gentrified. We were offered tastes of whatever we wanted to try…read moreand omg what a game changer. Cabot is no bargain after I've had cheese so superior. Will have to put myself on a cheese budget. But it is easier to have less when the taste is so unforgettable. Great service. Just hope they get the sandwiches that they already sell in Marlborough. I live in Hopkinton and we could use some great sandwiches. My very own Italian sub is super-good (learned from a deli in Westport, CT, in the '70s. No longer there of course. Like McDonald's Subway has co-opted the best about our 20th century foods and turned it into some of the worst. It's great that there are no fast-food options here. If you have a few minutes and want to have some fun, go to Vin Bin.

Same cheese quality, same wine selection and craft beers, and same lovely service (I caveat depending on who is in the store, it is VERY well known among regulars (intimidating/weird vibe type of thing) but we overlook it and come back later, because we love this business and the family that runs it. Of course when you walk into the Hopkinton store, you miss the oh so familiar and intoxicating aroma of Chef Mike L's food!!!!!! So, get in the car after you get your wine and drive over to Marlborough and grab one of Mikes' delectable, addictive and crave worthy sandwiches and soups - then all will be in balance in the Universe!!! Many more years of success to the Vin Bin Family!

Small but cozy eatery/drinkery in a residential neighborhood. No parking near the building, but…read morethere's an easy lot just around the corner. Lots of knock knacks on the walls, many related to beer and trains. Deep menu of comfort food made from scratch. Good draft beer list. -- Depot Burger: Their more ambitious of two regular menu burgers (they also have some as specials) was a visual treat in a pillowy Portuguese muffin. This provided a full size patty cooked to medium rare with juices trickling from the gentle, loosely packed beef. Full-coverage Vermont cheddar added silky richness, red onion jam added contrast, and tomato and arugula added vegetation. The star, at least visually, was the bacon: crisp, yet soft and bendable, with glorious color. Flavor was even better, with a deliciously strong cure. The whole package worked beautifully. One of the better burgers I've had this year for sure. -- Fries (a $2 add-on to the burger): A big stack, hand-cut (they also have hand-cut sweet potato fries), cooked just to the point of crispness while leaving a little droop and fluff. Nicely seasoned. -- Beer: I was thrilled to see a Hill Farmstead Double Nelson on the tap list. Smooth, strong, and delicious. -- Buffalo Wings: Looked and felt a little different, so I asked. Baked, then fried, yielding some charred crust on the outside and some tenderness within. Good wings, but with great sauces: the homemade Buffalo sauce had some serious kick, some complexity (little bits of unknown herbs), and some vinegar too. Homemade blue cheese thick and zesty. On Mondays, $1 each in batches of 6 or more, and with a guest flavor on top of their interesting fleet (ginger is next). -- Quahog: A well-rounded stuffed pile with bits of chorizo crispily mixed in, served with lemon wedge. It needed it for moisture, but a formidable offering that still satisfied. -- Caesar Salad: A large one with two well-layered hunks of Romaine, with a zippy (maybe mustard-infused) dressing and a dense coverage of crispy pancetta. Numerous homemade, dice-sized, well-seasoned croutons. No additional Parm and no anchovy pieces I could detect on their, but that dressing didn't let me down. A different kind of Caesar, but a very enjoyable one. -- Steak Tips: Had as an add-on to the salad, this provided a taste without committing to a full order. These don't make my steak tips pantheon (Champions, Tuckaway Tavern, New Bridge Cafe), but decent. Cooked a bit past the medium rare but still somewhat juicy. Nice flavor too, but subtle. I wouldn't get these again; too many better things on the menu. Service at the bar was cordial and attentive on both visits. Friendly staff all around. Not everything was perfect, but so much of it was (and no duds) that it's impossible not to drop a 5 based on the overall quality of every aspect.

My eggplant ciabatta was so yummy. Upcharge for side salads but it's worth it. Daily specials are a great add to the usual. It's a great find off the beaten path. Restaurant has a parking lot by the train tracks. Tented area is well heated and doubles the capacity of the place.
