My boyfriend and I arrived for a pick up order. We waited for 15 minute watching servers and employees pass us. They laughed w each other, paced around and even stared at us while we just stood there waiting. There was a younger white woman there w blonde hair. She stayed at the bar and laughed with the bartender and watched us at the front. A man came from the back to help us. While he had gotten our order. Another couple came in. ALMOST IMMEDIATELY the same woman comes over and seats the couple. My boyfriend and I were astounded; How the white couple received INSTANT service, while we (were black) had to wait so long to be attended to. Went for the first lunch date me and my fiance have been able to afford for over a year. Got 2 drinks he drank half his beer and we got some Food. Smokehouse burger was 3/10 falling apart with just a really sweet taste and combo platter was decent for a plate of fried food I guess. But at the end we were going to take my fiances half a beer in a Togo cup. We had no idea this was against the law or anything, they came to our table, took the drink, didn't even ask if he'd like a chance to finish it and basically told us to leave. What was going to be a $20 tip was $5. All she had to do was politely explain the rule and offer to let him finish. This place is rude and the food sucks. read more

I'm not a fan of (all) Hickory Tavern locations but this one is definitely setting the bar high. The lemon pepper wings are the best I've had in this area but I always ask for them "crispy". The service (even on football Sunday) has been great. We typically sit in the bar area. This is my "go to" spot for a nice margarita and wings! Oh, and the fries are delicious too! Shout out to "Gianna" behind the bar. She's not only making good drinks, she's handling take out orders with an eye for details that show she's concerned about the customer. I'd say our server Nolan really made our experience a blast. The atmosphere was right at peak dinner time and he did so excellent. He was so on top of stuff that I even heard him letting a table know the kitchen was stacked but their food would be out soon! Best news ever communicating with his tables to keep them happy during rush! Food was good and the cod tacos were fresh. A good plus if you're from kitchen life. WOW, busy for a Tuesday night and perhaps a little slow but the service was good, and prompt, only the food took a long time. I ordered a very difficult dish to do right - shrimp and grits This recipe can easily be ruined as too spicy or too bland. Mine was just right There were things I would have preferred - for example, I like cheddar cheese in the grits. I didn't see any cheese at all, although the taste was excellent. And I prefer polenta (yellow corn) to white grits as well. White grits tend to be smaller and less flavorful. This dish can take aggressive tastes. Bland tastes get lost. The andouille sausage was cut in small pieces fortunately, because when they are too large it dominates the dish. The shrimp were whole and not over cooked, which is a common problem in all restaurants. My fellow diner has an allergy to gluten and choose a huge salad . . . A Choose Your Own item on the menu. It was huge and he was very happy with his choices. He did not try out the gluten-free menu. I noticed many single men and women in their thirties, like a "Cheers" without the high noise level. The parking lots were jammed. I'd been to this restaurant last year and did not like it; but now I will return happily. read more

I don't know why I keep trying to come here like they will magically get better. Just cause they are so close and open late. I'd rather starve from now on than flush $100 down the toilet. Ordered two sirloins for $30/pc. Both came rare. Even thought they were supposed to be medium. Forgot our fries, waiting on those made our take out COLD. Cold rare steak- hell no. $20 chicken plate only got 5 platter of chicken. -get more at overpriced fast food places like chick a filet for half the price. They never get the order righ5z The by is yots are half the size of what they were 3 months ago. They don't even cover a normal teaspoon!!! What a joke. Total rip off. I paid $100 and only got half of what I paid for. Oh and I order the kids penne meal. Used to come in the bigger bowl. They put it in a side bowl and my kid looked at me like I lost my mind. 10 noodles and a teaspoon of sauce. Do not go here. This location is just jacked up I'm so angry. I went to this location Tuesday 24th September, I was seated far away in the corner and no waiter came over to serve I waited 15 minutes then the chef came over to the table to Take my order. when the waitress finally came to bring the drinks she tells me she doesn't know who my waiter is but she'll take the order. I feel that's very unacceptable. But the chef did cover my food bill which I was very appreciative of. read more
