Not very conducive for gatherings or physical activities at this time unless you don't have the need for a restroom. I was there last week as my start off point for my running. Hicks Canyon Community Park: Toilets closed/ out of order. No wash areas for anyone. People who are using the kids playground and the trails go run to the restroom just to find the restrooms closed. I had to run all the way to Peter's Canyon Wash to the football field and use the restroom there. There are workers all over the place with work trucks parked there during lunchtime. I tried to call the website line to ask about the restroom closure but nobody was picking up the phone. There was no maintenance done on the cottages. They were filled with bird poops. Of course, nobody can do family gatherings since it's not really good for that at this time. It's sad for an Irvine community park .

For such a relatively larger community park in Irvine, I'd expect two playground structures. This only has one ages 5-12 and none of the trees are tall enough to shade it midday. I don't count the panels as a play structure. Only two toddler swings and no big kid swings (just the seat slab). Also, seems the adjacent strip mall is walled off so the convenience of playing in the park and walking to get drink/food requires going to the street.

    Here at the park!!!

Overall a very well maintained and superbly clean park that contains a children's Playground that is often patrolled by police officers so you feel nice and safe and secure. This park is a no smoking park, many Irvine public places are smoke free environments, to help better our community. This park also contains baseball fields and a soccer field! It has bathrooms!!! Great for when you want to spend a long time at the park with somewhere to use the restroom. They are in a tan-sand colored building. Often times there are baseball games here and the snack concession stand is open. Overall a great park that is well-lit and has a couple of pokestops.

Great baseball fields with real restrooms

Of course it is. This sign is always on the field unless they've rented out the soccer fields.

I love this park. It's nice and clean. Love to take my little dog there. Reminds me of those days my kids used to play soccer there

Hands down one of the cleanest, most convenient parks in the Irvine area!…read more There are several baseball fields, tons of gated tennis courts, playgrounds for the kids, countless picnic areas that are numbered for parties and gatherings. I think what makes this park stand out is the crowd. Any park can be beautiful but, without the proper maintenance from the park crew (and most importantly the park goers) it doesn't stand a chance. You see tons of regulars here with their dogs, families, kids. Everyone is friendly and respectful of one another. The dog crowd at this park is also one of the best I've seen. Although the park is not off leash, there's wide open areas for you to allow your fur family to play catch, run around, and have a bit of freedom! They do have a couple of posts that have doggie bags however, they run out quick so please do come prepared with your own poop bags just in case! There are plenty of water fountains throughout with water filling stations attached, so don't forget a bowl for your fur family!!

The park is located on Harvard Ave just next to the Irvine Civic Center. There are plenty of…read moreparking spaces around the park area. We visited there on a Saturday around noon. There were quite a few cars in the lot already. However, we didn't see a lot of people milling around as the park covers quite an extensive area. The park features a flower garden with a fountain near its center. Beyond that are several picnic shelters amidst an elaborate children's playground. Further on, there is a large expanse of grass area amidst soccer fields, base ball diamond and tennis courts. There are paved walk paths through out the complex that winds up and down the various terrains. Overall it's a nice place to enjoy a leisure walk!
