I confirmed my airport shuttle the day before with Shannon over the phone. She was kind and very informative regarding the area and how to make the most of my time there. I didn't rent a car so I loved that the Free SNOW bus was running and hopped on it to do some sightseeing at the top of the mountain. After I was finished exploring, I checked out the beautiful rooftop and hot tub.... Really nice views! And luckily there were lots of dinner options nearby also! The bed was comfy, the shower was great, and the room was quiet. The Nespresso machine pumped out a good cup of coffee in the morning, which I appreciated. Overall, really enjoyed my stay here and would love the opportunity to stay again. If you're looking for good accommodations in the downtown Whitefish area, I'd highly recommend giving the Firebrand a try! Happy Travels!

Firebrand - downtown Whitefish…read more I stayed here 6 days at the end of August. I'll start with "the good." The hotel is in a perfect location if you enjoy walking to restaurants and shops. Firebrand had an excellent breakfast. There was usually a wait for the food to arrive after ordering but it was worth it. Happy hour was also very nice. Great prices - tasty apps. The servers at both breakfast and dinner were delightful. The upstairs, outdoor area was beautiful and tranquil. The hotel was decorated in a lodge theme, which was, obviously, on point, very interesting and beautiful. Unfortunately the sofa in front of the fireplace had two long slits in the cushions. Management should definitely take time to have that repaired. It's uncomfortable and unsightly. I guess we're sliding toward "the bad." Our first night we got little sleep. Normally I don't comment on loud guests, etc. That usually has little to do with the hotel. Apparently a room across the hall had music playing loudly, which we could not hear. Another room complained to the front desk. The front desk sent an employee to request the music be turned down. There was apparently no response from the guests in the room. The employee continued to bang and beat on the door for a very long time- then said employee went outside to banged on the windows. That did not wake the guests. So the employee came back in and banged on the door more. This went on for a what seemed like an eternity. Next, our room was not clean. I can honestly say it was dirty. Everyday there would be young men (I think the hotel had an exchange program where university students in other countries could come and live / work in the US for the summer) in the hallways, blowing up cleaning gloves and hitting them to each other as a game. Even though we were not in our room, and did not have a do not disturb sign on the door, our room did not get cleaned. We finally figured it out. If they waited until we returned to the room to rest before dinner; we would just request towels. Then they could forgo the cleaning. (On our 6 day trip, our room was made up once.) The last zinger (which I brought to the attention of the very nice front desk person, Shannon) was the door hanger for do not disturb, which said, "Busy." It was a view from outside a keyhole spying in on a woman. This is totally inappropriate. Are you promoting the stalking of women? Do you think they should be spied on and unsafe in hotel rooms? This is total tone deaf in a culture where woman should feel safe traveling alone and whose safety should not be joked about. Whitefish was delightful. I do not think I'd stay at this Firebrand Hotel again because there would be no way to assure these negatives had been addressed.

Each day, Shayla prepared the most delicious homemade baked goods, which made us feel like we were at a home away from home. Since we planned to head to Glacier National Park early each day, she kindly packed to-go breakfasts for us--always thoughtful, fresh, and satisfying. On the mornings we stayed in, she served beautiful homemade breakfasts that were just as delicious. The extra touches throughout the lodge made our stay even more special--the self-serve charcuterie, fresh fruit, and beverages were such a nice bonus. There are 2 wings to the hotel; one of which has nicely renovated rooms that are up to date. The other is not renovated and though very clean is pretty much like an economy hotel. I was charge $300+ and was not happy about this room at all go that cost but that's on me I guess to have made this choice. Checking in - 3 people at the desk, no greeting and only one was doing check ins and it took (not kidding) 15 minutes (management???). Beautiful bar/restaurant that really fits with the Montana vibe. Had drinks here -$20+ for a Negroni? Breakfast option is only a buffet, nothing else. It's ok at best. Nothing unique at all. Cost - $28. The area on one side is gorgeous lining a golf course. Looks like an event facility has been added in the back for weddings etc. beautiful. Transportation to the airport is provided at $23/person. Service at check out was much better. I found it on Priceline, but called the hotel, and they gave me the same deal but so much more. I spoke with Max when I got to the hotel he was ready for me. Got me in a room help me with parking and even try to help with my EV. He was great but not the only from the van driver to the whole staff everybody here really friendly makes extra effort. The rooms are OK. It's a ski lodge. Nothing special but the people location no doubt I'm definitely coming back. I will say the lobby is inviting always a fire going comfy chairs and get Internet.
