Local gem! Great for kids, delicious cider, and donuts. We also had a surprisingly good apple grilled cheese! Sounds weird- tastes good.

I saw these folks in Palo Alto farmers market. They had multiple juices. I went for an orange juice. It felt pure. They sort of freeze the whole bottle overnight so that it stays cool during Farmers Market hours.

Come on, let's get this review rating up to the five stars it deserves! The owners that have taken over in the last couple of years are killing it with improvements from more exciting cider flavors and cidery to an expanded kids playground and even better on-site food, including a whole host of Panini's are keeping hidden star a favorite for ours and making it even me for so many more. I always campaign for this to be stopped number one but inevitably we finish our visits here. My wife will take the boys into the play area and I'll head to the cidery to choose two glasses for us to enjoy while they play. This time around we had the bourbon jalapeño cider as well as a cider that combines various types of heirloom apples with Cabernet, grapes for a delightfully, dry crisp drink. Our kids can never get enough of this playground. They love the seesaw and all of the old vehicles, including the plane, firetruck and many more. The new owners have fixed up and enhanced many of the structures from the ship to the culvert tunnels there's just so much to do for children in this playground. This is a must visit for anyone in Apple Hill and the fact that it's rating is 3.7 which is an improvement from before is shocking. Please leave these guys some reviews and if you haven't been check it out asap!

Hidden Star is a hidden gem tucked into the gorgeous hills of Apple Hill. The kids can run wild in the play area while adults "supervise" with one of their twenty cider options (no need to narrow it down- they offer flights!). We went on the last day of November and on our way out discovered the apple slingshot! There's a spacious outdoor patio with jumbo Connect Four for a little friendly competition, and the food smelled so good we had regrets that we'd already eaten. The staff were friendly, attending, and genuinely excited to share their cider favorites. We'll absolutely be back with empty stomachs!

If you like hard cider, this is the stop for you. Line for it is long and moves slow so be prepared. However there is plenty of variety to find something you like, even non-alcohol ones. They have beer caddies if you want to buy six to bring home. I wish the line was shorter so you could try the options before buying. Didn't get to try the bakery since everything was sold out by the time we stopped here (~1pm). Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Not much else to do here though. Parking is tough too.

Neat spot with a relaxed atmosphere. Even indoors it was a bit cold, so some added heating would improve comfort. There was also a leak from the ceiling near our table, which wasn't a major issue but something to note. We ordered three cider flights (12 tastings) for six people; a great way to try a wide range of flavors. The ciders were interesting and unique, even if none stood out as a must-buy on their own (for me). Overall, a solid experience with good variety and a fun place to explore different cider options. Would definitely return with a group.

We always make an effort to come here on a weekday. Once, we came on a Friday, and it was busier than their usual weekdays, and that was enough to solidify that during the weekend, this place is packed! We love the toddler town and how risky it is. We are disappointed the giant swing is now down. The vendors are always interesting. The last time we came, there was a carnivorous plant man selling his plants. Such a wealth of knowledge and so welcoming of my kiddos and their questions! Parking is always accessible on weekdays. Their apple cider donuts are fresh and delicious, but severely overpriced. $7 for two old ones is ridiculous.

Charming spot with great vibes and even better service ---------------- This place is super cute! There's a barn-style setup where they offer hard cider tastings--my husband's the cider fan, and the guy there was really helpful in guiding his picks. I'm not into ciders, but I did try one or two of his choices. Inside the bake shop, we grabbed a lavender donut (so good!), and the woman who helped us was seriously the sweetest. She was also friendly and very welcoming with us. It was such a refreshing experience--she even gave us a sample of their featured non-alcoholic cider (wish I remembered the name, but it was delicious). They also serve lunch, which is nice if you're making an afternoon of it. There's plenty of seating and we came on a Friday afternoon, so no crowds--yay! We had a peaceful view of the land while we snacked. Only heads up: the restrooms are porta-potties, so just something to be aware of.

Amazing flight ciders! Great place to stop and have some drinks with friends during our Apple hill day! The service was friendly and upbeat!

This stop is a great one if you have kids! Great playground for kids and hard cider for the parents! We were a little disappointed because we showed up a little after 3:30 and the kitchen was already closed, even though they are open till 5. The hard cider was really good, but I would not recommend the flights. It is a much better value to get one or two full beers than getting the flight for $20. Out of the cider I tasted, the heat wave was my favorite. Great kick to it and delicious flavor. There is a really cool playground for the kids. It has an old airplane and fire truck!! Overall, pretty solid spot and I would go back!

This is truly a Hidden Star of Apple Hill. Ranch was recommended by one of my friends from work, and we made the stop here. While I didn't have the alcoholic cider, the non-alcoholic cherry apple cider was absolutely delicious. My friends loved the leaded stuff.

Cider choices were great just wasn't crazy about number 1 spicy one. Others were great tho. Customer service was great! A lot of people out enjoying the weather and location. Fun place!

We went here for the first time today and it was amazing! The lines were long but the customer service was unmatched. The employees seemed to enjoy their job and they were kind and patient taking orders. We ordered garlic fries, flights, apple donuts, and apple cider. Everything was delish. I also enjoyed walking around and looking at all the different vendors. The playground was a hit for the kids! They were so entertained- it was great enjoying the beautiful outdoors with my family at hidden star!

Boa Vista Orchards is a family farm that has many great components, including a bakery, market, cider, wine tasting, hard cider, and lunch. Additionally, it is known for hosting special events throughout the year to keep the general public intrigued. When coming here, I had the opportunity to experience Peach Days. This day featured items such as Fresh Peaches, Peach Lemonade, Peach Ice Cream, Peach Fudge, Peach Pastries and so much more! Everything Peachy! I tried the lemonade and the ice cream, and they were both so refreshing, light, and palatable. Next, I wanted to have lunch. Lunch is served every day with permissible weather from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The menu has a variety of great options like Brisket Sandwiches (Full or Half), Hot Dogs, Cheeseburgers, Black Bean Burgers, etc. I decided to get the Full Brisket Sandwich served with a bag of Lay's Potato Chips. The brisket was so tender and cooked to perfection. The meat was just melting in my mouth - DELICIOUS! With this mouthfeel experience, it was enhanced tremendously when paired with their housemade Apple Chipotle BBQ Sauce (offered at the condiment station). Lastly, the sandwich was big enough that it was satisfyingly filling. At the end of lunch, it was time to try samples. I went to the samples booth and had the Cosmic Crisp Apple, Golden Delicious Apple, Yellow Nectarine, White Nectarine, and Peach Fudge. Followed by this, I shopped around the market. I loved the offerings of the fresh fruits, vegetables, jarred products, etc. I purchased a bag full of White Nectarines, several jars of What'cha Dill Pickles, one big jar of Apple Juice, several personal-sized bottles of Apple Juice, one bottle of Pecan Syrup, and one bottle of the Apple Chipotle Sauce. Overall, Boa Vista Orchards is impressively phenomenal. The entire environment was super inviting with all of the adorable Peach decorations. All of the staff members were friendly and kind. Parking availability was plentiful with three separate parking lots. Whenever I'm in Placerville, I'd totally stop by again! It's worth making a trip to.

To start, we called on the phone first to make a reservation for our anniversary, we announced we had a Groupon to use, and we were never informed at the time of booking that it could not be used during their pizza and music nights. We arrive, lady setting us for our table (We also mention Groupon, another opportunity for them to alarm us, still nothing.) We get to our table, explain the Groupon to the server in which she declined the Groupon. We asked for a little more time to decide what we would order instead, server NEVER comes back. Takes us 20 mins to flag down another server who also never comes back after our wine is dropped off. Once our original server comes back around about an hour later after our glasses are empty, she is stumbling on her words (clearly has been drinking) and makes an offer for the Groupon that didn't even make sense lol. I want soooo bad to be able to go back again but damn I'm disappointed. As a server myself this is unacceptable. Even for our anniversary we weren't expecting anything special just honest and attentive service. The experience left such a bad taste in our mouth. She mentioned being short staffed but the vibe at a winery to begin with is slow paced and never an excuse to just outright avoid your tables entirely. I did not see any pep in this persons step, so to me it did not appear busy. Sorry, but have to knock down the score just for that
