We recently moved so we are closer to this Maple Valley location. Decided to try them out even though I heard mixed reviews from people I personally know that went here. We were told to show up 15 minutes early to class so we could sign new paper work and do a quick walk through of their gym. My husband and I planned this 1.5 weeks in advance.. he left work early even to make this class. We showed up right on time and were told we needed to be there 30 minutes early and that they won't let us in the class. The front desk people rolled their eyes and claimed I should've read the email even though the gal on the phone said 15 minutes and I repeated it back to her. I tried to see if there was anything we could do to get in but apparently it's a strict policy (my other location was never like that). So I drove 40 minutes there and back super angry with how they treated us and I will never be returning to this location again. I'll be driving out of the way to go back to my original home studio. Sure it doesn't mean much to them but they lost out on 2 members.

The crowd is very young and there seems to be zero respect for re-racking weights or wiping down equipment after using it. I can count on one hand the number of people I've actually seen clean equipment when they're done. Maybe management should put up more signs reminding people to wipe things down and re-rack their weights, because it's gotten pretty gross at times. The gym itself has potential, but the lack of basic gym etiquette makes it frustrating to work out there.

We started June 2025, we go to this location 3 days a week. As soon as you walk up to check in, every single person who has worked the desk has been cordial and friendly to us. I mean it's 730am class and it's so early. But they always say welcome in, with a smile. The juice gal greets me every morning I'm there, then says goodbye with a smile on her face on our way out. Now as far as the Pilates instructors, so far everyone has been wonderful. We've learned a lot. We've had one grumpy instructor in the beginning, but she was gone after a few classes. Not sure what happened to her, but she wasn't a happy camper. I'll spare mentioning her name. But our favorites have been Elizabeth, Kelly, and now Jolene. Our other two fave either had to go back to a regular 9 to 5, which is Cathy, and Josh moved to another center. All have been fantastic including the subs. We joined through our health insurance which was a great deal, and to join reformer Pilates it's an extra 99.00 a month per person unlimited. We were grandfathered in so not sure how much it is now but I'm sure it's still a better price than other Pilates studios out there. So much less in price than Club Pilates for sure, and most of the time you are on a wait list, and can't get the class you want. Only reason I didn't give this location a 5 star is because the pool area. 1. The water gnats I would see were out in abundance on the walls. Means they were coming from the pipes, and something needed to be cleaned. Then the whirlpool looked rusty and needed cleaning. Which they finally did but it took a while to clean up. So we haven't used it for a while now. It's not LA fitness fault but more like the members when in the whirlpool. Sometimes I enter the whirlpool and it smells like really strong perfume/Cologne ugh...so off pudding!!! But I do Have to say that this LA Fitness is much more cleaner than the one by my house where my family found mushrooms growing in the shower ugh! Daniel uses lots of different modalities to mix things up and ensure I am making progress toward my goals. I have a blast! We do tons of different things and it varies in different classes. I look forward to it. I am getting fit while having a good time and getting great coaching. You don't have to be an athlete when you arrive. Daniel will help you get to where your goals are. He's very supportive and also great at helping you push yourself. He knows his stuff and it has helped me make rapid improvements. He clearly has a lot of technical expertise, but is also friendly and very personable. It's a great place. The prices are reasonable. You will be happy you chose it.

I've been training with Will McIntosh for 6 months and I I'm not planning on stopping…read more I'll keep it brief but I hit a plateau with my training, wasn't able to increase my weight or gain noticeable muscle mass I struggled like this for at least 4 months until a friend of mine recommended McIntosh (then working at LA fitness) I won't exaggerate when I say in five weeks I attained what I did not believe was possible. I actually might have quit taking bodybuilding and fitness seriously had I not started training with him. He was knowledgeable enough to correct minor form inaccuracies and tweak my rest periods (there were other things but these were the principle adaptations) to set me on the right track towards visible improvement and continually breaking PRs. His knowledge as a nutritionist helped me break out of my under eating habits and actually drew out a meal plan FOR FREE for me after a session one day just out of the blue. He pushed me harder than any other trainer, but I was happy to put in the work to actually get results. Highly recommended.
