Not only were they able to book us with only 1 night notice, when I and a few others who had been running behind showed up a few minutes after they'd been supposed to close their kitchen, they let us order food. They did show a sense of urgency for us to order right away, but they weren't rude about it and weren't grumpy with us for the rest of the night; quite the opposite - the staff was very warm and left a really good impression. Most impressive and kind of unexpected given how small they are is the huge tap list. There's multiple options for just about every variety of beer. I got a Parkside "Nitro Button" Irish stout and really liked it! It didn't have the coffee flavour but it had the smoothness that you often get from coffee stouts which was really nice. I had the Chickpea Curry to eat. I might've described this a stew rather than a real curry just because it was less spicy than I was expecting, but it was still tasty. The picture makes the sauce look a little watery but that wasn't actually the case, I thought the consistency was good. Prices for food and drink are typical. Most food items are between $16-$20. Most of the beers are $7.5 for a small glass (10 or 16 oz depending on the beer), $8.5 for the larger glass (14 or 20 oz). $7.5 for 16 oz of beer in 2022 seems pretty good to me. Hoping to return to this cozy neighbourhood bar soon!

The appetizer was the corn salad, fresh diced cucumber made this a hit. The miso soup was loaded with mushrooms which was great, and the broth was delicious. LA Galbi was very well made, tender with some chew, and the charred onions made this dish special, but the Kimchi fried rice was on another level delicious, rice cooked perfectly and mixed with the kimchi made every bite a complete joy. When you see on the menu the entree comes with two bowls of rice that means it's big enough for two. Enjoy, we definitely did. Top 5 Korean cuisine.

Ingredients including tofu and meat inside are fresh and flavourful. Portions overall are quite large. The only downside is there are only three complimentary side dishes before the meal. Dishes like the potato ones taste overly sweet, and feel like they weren't prepared with much care. The service is friendly, and the location is decent. However, the restaurant looks a little dated. I'd suggest some renovations or a deeper clean. Overall it's still a good spot. We visited seven months ago, and this is our second time dining here.

The buffer beef is really good. Nothing I have ever tasted. It's vinegary, fresh, a bit salty and sweet. Not too sure how to describe it but it was good! The chicken wings are good as well. The lemon and peppery dipping sauce elevates the dish more. The meat on the chicken was on the smaller side and I wished there was more garlic flavour but overall it was good. The place was pretty busy and entrance is full of people but the service is fairly quick.

They're well-known, so it was no surprise to see a full house when we walked in. Luckily there's a waitlist. We got added to it, then wandered for ~20 minutes before getting a text to return. Efficient service. Efficient kitchen too, given the crowd. I left happy, and with a food coma: - Highlights: beef skewers - Worth trying (recommend sharing with someone, then ordering another dish): the kho (i.e. kuy teav), served "dry" (i.e. pork bone soup on the side) - Honorable mention: morning glory veggie dish Credit accepted. 4.5 stars rounding up. Otherwise the Khmer aunties will get me.

I only learnt of this place when googling for roast meat and this popped up. The store is divided into two sections. One for the cooked roast meat where the menu is at the back of wall. Written in both Chinese and English, they are quite hard to read though. Bring your glasses or better yet, take a picture and zoom in on the photo like what I did. The other part is where you can buy fresh uncooked meat. The other side is lined with refrigerated items. Besides buying the roast meat, you can also have it with rice with your choice of meat. I bought a pound (min order) of roast pork and half a Hong Kong style roast duck (pipa duck I believe). I will say communication can be quite tough as the staff seemed more comfortable speaking in Cantonese which I do not speak. So it has to be a basic ordering in English without any questions or requests. The roast pork has super crispy skin which is really good but it also has such a thick layer of fats underneath that I had to remove it. You could probably save those fatty bits and fry them later to make lardon and add to your home cooked noodles or something. I like the pipa duck. Tender and tasty meat. Tip/Life hack: I googled and found a way to reheat the leftovers so they do not dry out -- cover the meat with foil and heat in oven at 400c for 20-30 mins. For the roast pork, I only covered the meat part and let the skin peeked out so the skin got even crispier.
