Do not take your children to play here. My child suffered a broken arm due to employee negligence while playing laser tag and High Five did not take appropriate professional or financial responsibility for the injury; my child still suffers and we were strung along and blown off by management and their insurance company. Update: bumped up to two stars. We have bowled there a couple times a week. Not liking the vibe anymore. Kids have run of the place. Bowling at Highlands now. Also they added $1 to the sodas. Now over $3. The bartender upstairs is a jerk. Zero customer service skills. We have bowled at Highlands and really enjoy it. The lanes are well oiled. It gets crowded but more serious bowlers and no kids running around unattended. Last few times we have visited, the customer service has been subpar and the staff were rude. The food is hit or miss. Bowling has been fun if they keep the lanes oiled and children from upstairs lanes. My big complaint is when we bowl they put really young kids right next to us. Two adults do NOT want kids running around why we are trying to actually improve our game. We will stay away during the holidays. BTW, we tried to bowl upstairs but were told no despite all lanes open. the staff upstairs were beyond rude. read more

Ok. Right. So.... 5 stars... i know what you're thinking, yeah yeah its not a Michelin 5 star but they really do try harder than anyone else I've seen. They sent the executive chef out to make sure everything was ok, they bend over backwards. Every time. I like High5. In today's market where you gotta be everything to everybody, High5 hits the mark. They hire good kids, and teach them how to help people. They serve good food, and the rates are reasonable. You can niggle about their bowling lanes or the booze they sell but HIGH5 is a ray of light in a dismal market. read more

While I think this is a welcome addition to Lakeway and great if you want something to do with the kids, not really a good place for adults not looking to bowl. Drinks are pretty expensive and not very good and service is mediocre at best. Wife had a lemon drop that was pretty awful and had to return it. I offered to drink it as it at least it had alcohol but a good bartender would not have charged for it. They point out that they have a shuffleboard table but it is completely out of balance and almost impossible to play. Minor complaints in the big scheme of things really but if you want to charge high prices you really need to be a little more on the ball. Kids will probably love High 5 but as a happy hour destination too many other and better options. read more

Not like the bowling alleys I remember from childhood. This place is fresh, fun and most importantly clean. My kids love going here. They have bumpers and slides to make bowling easy for the littlest bowlers. Plus tons of fun graphics and glowing lights to keep them mesmerized. The food is really good too. Not at all what you'd expect when you hear "bowling alley food." We love their pizza and chips and salsa, but I'm pretty sure based on looks, that everything is delicious. read more

We were on the prowl for the perfect place to hold our company's annual conference. We had outgrown the spot we held it in the last couple of years. We went to High 5 to only discuss some entertainment the night of our conference. We were pleased to find out that they have full service meeting rooms with customizable room dividers, flexible table configurations, full AV including projector and screen, etc... Let me get this straight...we can have our meeting in a clean, spacious room with full service meals brought in and we can end the day by walking 20 feet to bowling and a bar? Yes please! The planning was detailed and our contact communicated well and the price was very fair. So we signed on the dotted line. In the past we've seen is a drastic drop in service from the "sales team" to the "operation team"...the sales team over promised while the service team under-delivered. Not this time. High 5 really knocked it out of the park from beginning to end. High 5 took a stressful event and made it impressive and enjoyable. Thanks! read more

We spent a lot of time here this summer. It's fun for the entire family and the kids bowl free membership is amazing!

This place is great for all the activities that require minimal interaction with the staff...so arcade games and bowling. The staff were very friendly but service is painfully slow. I can't comment on the food because during our 1 hour of bowling, the waitress didn't show up until about 40 minutes in and this was after turning our 'service requested' signal on for about 20 minutes (which covers up your bowling scores on the main screen) and finally just giving up. Also, I wish they would fix the skee-ball machines which always seem to short you at least 1 or 2 balls per game. read more

Been there a few times now. Really nice and clean. Laser tag was a blast - even for adults!! The food is good, in particular the shrimp diablos and the pizza. Bowling seemed a bit pricey until I looked at other lanes in Austin - not that far off, and it's definitely a huge step up in cleanliness and class. They are definitely a startup, which leaves for some glitches in service along the way, but overall it is a really great option for people in the area. read more

I'm giving this place a 3 only because the bartender upstairs, Adam, made this crazy night tolerable. It's a place to bring kids to bowl, have fun on vending machines, like a kid's casino. It was loud and crazy. I was so happy to rush upstairs, leaving the kids with my competent help and the hostesses to carry on with the birthday bash. For kids, I give this is a 5, adults, we can help make a change!!!!! If the bar was more shut off, less noise from the kids screaming and video games (what did we hire party hostesses who are then helped by High Five's party planners?) The bartender, Adam, was so nice, he realized right away our group of 6 were disappointed with the cheesy menu and suggested something tolerable and made sure we all had drinks filled and checked on us and was so nice we would have parties for kids there again.And felt bad for Adam. I'd like to hire him for my business.... We all felt bad for him , since the place was clearly understaffed upstairs, overstaffed downstairs. Adam had the whole bar -which was full and a young waiter kept coming up to him looking shell -shocked. He got drinks and gave them reassuring pats on the back and words of encouragement even thought he was clearly overworked. One couple in our group offered him a job else where but he was very loyal and conscientious. And maybe too darn busy keeping everyone happy - which he did with aplomb - to be anything but kind and give a gentle , "Thank you , I'm too busy to consider this" answer to our friends and just kept his cool in a high stress, loud , environment. My view is: the owners should SHIELD the upstairs diners from the stress of the noise and offer Better Food choices as an upscale crowd was at the bar who can afford this type of group party for their kids. Let the party people we hired take care of the noisy crazy games and let the parents all have a decent low fat meal and for God's sake hire more waiters. There were 3 giggling girls at the Hostess booth when we entered then just one bartender keeping his cool and keeping everyone happy, Adam, and one very nervous young male waiter, my heart goes out to him and thought Adam was so nice to keep encouraging him w/ "You're doing a great job " and patting him on the back and quickly making the drinks the poor kid needed. We were shocked 3 girls doing NOTHING but giggling at the entrance booth and one bartender over working, yet keeping everyone engaged and the ONE waiter who seemed so distraught, functioning. I couldn't believe it. I admire the upstairs staff, bartender Adam and the young boy who seemed to be needing drinks every 5 minutes. Maybe because his customers were going nuts with all the noise. This would be a PERFECT place if they shielded the upstairs from chaos downstairs and took one of the useless giggling hostesses off the front post and had her help upstairs. Ridiculous mismanagement. We give Adam 5 stars, the unknown boy waiter 5 stars and the general management a big Yelp out to manage to HELP the help better. Any fool would send one of the giggling useless front entrance gals upstairs to help bus or waitress. We all made friends around the bar and exchanged numbers, still all fiends, left shocked at this crazy situation of help. High 5 is new, maybe if they went in as guests whoever owns it would figure out what we saw in seconds. Really APPALLING. Thank God for Adam and the young waiter who was clearly overworked as was Adam who encouraged the young kid from not quitting. Yikes, clearly stupid having giggling kids at front, three of them downstairs doing NOTHING , still giggling when we left waving goodbye while upstairs, understaffed, higher rent people ordering meals and drinks were stupefied. The whole bar made friends discussing the situation. Adam , however , such a good employee was offered jobs since he would not say one bad thing or agree with the crazy lopsided situation he was in along with the unknown waiter's dilemma. Wake up High 5 and spread the help around. It was a shame on you High 5 management. You will lose great help. I've seen it happen again and again......stupidity. This happened mid March and we were there 2x with kid/grandkid's parties. Both times, the same. Better menu, and less lopsided help, send the useless "hi" "goodbye' team of 3 , send 2 upstairs to help out. What a nutty situation. I was disgusted but knew the ditzy team saying hi and bye knew nothing of the overworked , understaffed crew upstairs. Crazy mismanagement. Better food, bigger staff upstairs is needed. read more

The staff are great and they do a great job keeping it clean. LOVE having our family outings here. If you're looking for the staff to "Control" the kids, sorry but I don't believe that is their job, it isn't a daycare it is an entertainment center, that job falls on the absent parents who should be watching their kids and not letting them run wild. I love High 5. I've found my way back to bowling a few years ago (after not playing for 20 years) for fun through their social league Empty Nesters. What a great facility and great people. The staff is awesome, they get to know YOU and you become part of the family. I bring in new bowlers whenever I can. Note that the food is delicious, the bartenders super and the management staff has upped their game and awareness in keeping the bowlers happy! It can get crowded during the weekends, holidays and summers with the all great games, ax-throwing, parties, etc and we usually plan for that. Ways to improve? Get a pro-shop in there, lessons, clinics, a few tournaments and fun stuff for the regulars. We know it's not bowling only, but when you see the potential, it's just a great place!!! My family and I love this place! It has something for everyone: video games, bowling and indoor laser tag. If you don't want to be around kids, you can just head upstairs to the adults-only bar. As with any new place, they had to work out the kinks in the beginning and most have been ironed out. The staff is friendly, especially the bar tenders. At most places like this, the food and drinks are usually an afterthought. This isn't the case at High5. You're not going to find microwaved frozen pizzas, gross hotdogs and pitchers of stale beer. The owners really did a great job with the menu, and the homemade drinks are very good. It's like a gastropub. We've been to High5 about a dozen times and have yet to be disappointed. read more

Someone contacted me on yelp saying they were gonna change it and give me complimentary games. Since hen they have changed it and the experience is all that much better.
