Made a trip to HighBrow on Valentine's day. Located on Westhaven's Main Street it is normally busy and seating is limited. We found a table. They are close together so don't plan on discussing any personal matters or any clandestine adventures! Service is not fast but the baristas are busy doing what they do and the coffee is good. We stopped in Westhaven to try High Brow Coffee while on our way to Timberland Park for a hike. I really loved the aesthetic, enjoyed listening to Etta James being played. It was pretty busy, but moved quickly. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating for a relatively small cafe. Ordered two iced Caramel Bourbon Oat Lattes - I didn't notice the flavor so asked for more syrup and while it was still very subtle, it was there. I think the milk overpowered the espresso, not sure if the roast is strong enough for me or if the syrup was rich/decadent enough to notice. I'd likely try another of their signature lattes if/when we return. read more

Love this spot. Fresh, clean, bright, airy. Their staff is so kind. I ordered a strawberry shortcake matcha (current summer fave) and it was wonderful. My husband (who is a former barista) loves that they carry Kalita filters and other helpful coffee supplies. Today I really enjoyed the Franklin Fog hot tea. It was amazing! The raspberry Earl Gray scone was delicious, too. My only disappointment was when I went to pay I learned that my $2 High Brow Cash star reward had expired! This wasn't the first time that had happened. On March 18 I had gotten a text that my "$2 Reward" would expire "soon". "Soon" is the key word as that notice came two weeks ago and expired April 1! The problem is it never told me when it would expire. It just leaves you hanging! Wouldn't that be nice to know? The two girls behind the counter said they don't know how it works either- really! It's easy to spend the money but getting the reward is another thing! If anyone knows how that works, could you let me know or I guess I will have to write the Cash App people as well. Wow! I was greeted with a smile and acknowledged with 'hello' from the pretty lady, Selah, at the coffee bar. Seeing that I had not such a great experience at the coffee spot down the street, this is what I look for when I choose to do business. I believe in stimulating local economy and where I spend my money matters. They were kind from a very beginning and Max, a fine gentleman, answered all of my questions about the menu. Stopped by on a Saturday morning before the eventual rush that overwhelmed their inside space. Folks were patient and understanding. That meant I had to sit outside in the rather cool weather, but at least the view was nice. The breakfast panini with egg and cheese was filling and just what I needed. Not too far from Arrington in Westhaven, is the High Brow Coffee shop which is clearly a favorite of the locals. Here I ate bar none the BEST breakfast sandwich this old guy has ever had. It was sausage, cheese & egg on a buttermilk biscuit which had to be hand made in heaven, probably by my Grandma. So wonderfully heavy, this moist and dense biscuit of culinary yumminess (yes, that's a word?) with egg and sausage peacefully sleeping inside awaiting your first bite. Paired with a house coffee, this breakfast sandwich filled the void of hunger decisively. So good I wanted another, so filling I simply couldn't eat one more. So, will we be back? Actually, we had a great experience and the only reason I'm giving them 3 stars is for the benefit of others. Coffee was very good, staff very friendly, and I had a nice mini-quiche. And, we arrived a little after 8:00 and there was no waiting plus 2 of the 4 tables was vacant. However, around 9 AM is when things heat up. Coffee was excellent, but service was terrible. I walked in and stood in what I thought was the line, while making eye contact with all three employees. I then noticed nobody ordering or getting their drinks so I stepped to other side, noticing the register was blocked to my view. I have nothing but amazing things to say about this cafe and the area surrounding it! West Haven is a beautiful, new, up and coming area that has so much going for it and plenty of free parking to handle it all. It's a little off the beaten path but definitely worth the short drive if you're in Franklin or even Nashville and want to get away from the crowds. High Brow is an aesthetically pleasing cafe with fresh gelato, loose leaf teas by Little Dickens, pastries, and coffee options. There's an espresso bar with tons of milk substitute options (including oat milk), Matchless coffee soda on tap, and house, black coffee. In my multiple visits I had an espresso, affogato, and oat milk latte - all spectacular! I cannot remember the brand off the top of my head but their espresso is perfect, very rich, not too acidic or fruity, and combines well with other flavors. The affogato was the best I've ever had! This is a great spot to work for those who are remote like myself. The cafe has indoor bar and table seating + outdoor tables and a couple rocking chairs. Their wifi is fast and never gave out on me. They have a water jug to keep you hydrated and parking is not timed so you can zone in without a worry of tickets or tows. There's also a couple restaurants and to-go food options in walking distance in case you get hungry and need a quick pick me up. The decor here is very modern but not pretentious. It's the perfect coffee shop environment with a clean sleek, hip look where all can still feel welcome. They have really cute merch too! I wanted it all but ended up getting a couple stickers and an adorable mug i use all the time! Check it out, grab some espresso and go for a walk around the pond out front. This was a really good find! The coffee was excellent, and the service was very good and friendly. They're right on the corner in Westhaven, with tables both inside and out, so it is a good spot to hang out if you're in the neighborhood (or passing by). They don't have a huge food menu, but there are options that are good for breakfast or lunch. I had the ham and Swiss panini and it was very tasty. The sourdough bread in particular was excellent. They clearly use good ingredients, so while the food is mostly pretty simple, it is good. This is definitely a great go-to coffee spot if you find yourself near Westhaven. read more

Their coffee is good - almost always. I really loved the pony express so we got that a lot. They need to actually prioritize online ordering. We've waited so long for online orders - almost every single time. One time, they even made drinks for the person who just had come in and my drink was in queue but they prioritized the person who came in instead of the online order. After about 15 min I still didn't have my toast, and an employee asked if I was missing anything and I told her... she proceeded to apologize (we were in no rush, just enjoying the coffee, it wasn't a huge deal) but then when she brought me the toast she was sweet enough to compensate and gave us a free drink coupon for next time we go due to them misplacing the order. Adorable local coffee shop in the planned community of Westhaven. The design is rustic walls with cool industrial lights and open shelving. They sell local products like honey, gelato, and Ellie's old fashioned donuts. The ice coffee was really good and I liked the almond milk (although not made in house). I got a muffin to snack on but I miss the homemade organic banana bread the previous owners used to sell. The service was okay but not really welcoming or about having an "experience". I recommend sitting out front by the pond - cute rocking chairs...there was construction of stone entrance ways for Westhaven so it was too loud & dirty to enjoy the outside seating. They do offer bistro seating in the back entrance but it is a parking lot view and makes it difficult for wheelchairs to navigate. This is a great place for a quick coffee or relaxing spot but I wish they would offer organic coffee. Wow this place is an a$$hole magnet- they have some of the rudest customers I've ever seen. From the entitled adults who block the patio with their bicycles to the entitled teenagers who cut the line to the customers who are condescending to the employees I can't help but feel sorry for the people who work here. I was impressed with the amount of coffee they had for sale to take home. My husband got a cup of regular coffee and I got a cold brew. The coffee was fantastic! The reason for my two stars is the customer service. There were both a female and a male working and neither seemed to want to explain the signature drinks to us and did not seem to care what we wanted to order. They were not helpful and acted like we should just know what to get when we had never been there before. I did a online order and having it be my first time I now know i need to order earlier. This place gets busy. With only 4 people on board they were killing it. (Disclaimer I ordered 4 items in total) I had the avocado toast and it was one sour dough bread cut in half with egg on top. It was yummy. I would order again. To drink I had a creamy beige. Taste was delicious. Not sure if this drink takes long to make. I waited longer for my drink(s) than I did for my food. Most rustic- chic aesthetic coffee house near Nashville. It's a bit of a drive, 30ish minutes outside the city. But the cuteness of the shop and the ambience put you in a mood. It's very instagram worthy with the dark modern decor, Edison bulbs, and the cute mason jars that hold loose leaf teas and mixes. I ordered a chai latte, and it was very smooth. Not overly sweet! It's a very good take on the Americanized chai flavor, and it was good for the fall day that my friend and I enjoyed catching up. It's not too loud, and I didn't notice music levels. The baristas were very friendly, personable, and really made it the local coffee shop vibe I think every shop aspires to be. We took a walk around the shops early, and they are very cute gift/ novelty shops! Would recommend as a nice cozy place.
