Worth a try, but not for much of a drive. Raise your brow and saunter into a nice atmosphere with nice people and artfully-done products. Why am I fighting the urge to order a burger? It's that hard seat and faux reclaimed everywhere utilitarian decor as uninspired as ground round on a bun. Would I come back? Maybe if it was in my neighborhood. The decor is same ol', but the shop is cozy enough to make it an occasional walking-distance haunt. Yet, nothing I ordered really spun my propeller. Coffee? The foam art was lovely, but the bean juice beneath was just OK. Raising my brow a touch, the quiche caught my eye and nestled onto my order. The quiche was beautiful on the outside, but quiche has a custard filling. Savory and firm, yes, but custard. The imposter on my plate was more a frittata scramble in a pastry crust. The flavor was nice, but it fell short for the same reason I don't eat frittatas: they're too often overcooked and dry. The ref flashed a yellow card on the foul. The staff was really friendly, but feeling very uneasy about the whole experience after watching one of the staff members take their mask off behind the register, and make coffee after touching her face repeatedly. If it weren't for watching another staff member make the coffee, and all of them wearing it at this point, I would not have drank it. I'd recommend waiting on checking this location out until after the global pandemic is over... definitely should have read reviews before visiting. Pleasantly surprised how tasty the avocado toast was. Everyone has avocado toast these days. They put chili flakes on top to add a little heat and I really liked it. I also added bacon because why not. I needed a little more protein. It came out quickly. The place is trendy inside and has lots of coffee/ snack/ food options. A good place to study or do work if you needed too. There's good music playing. There's even outside seating if you wanted to sit and look out at the water. Good find! My wife and I were staying in the area and stopped here for coffee. As we were staying a ways away from the city, we bought a box of coffee for $20 to take with us. We were able to get at least 8-10 decent-sized cups from the box so it seemed like a very reasonable price compared to single cup purchases. The dark roast coffee was very good! In addition to the coffee, we bought an orange brioche roll that was amazing! So amazing, we went back the next day to buy another one. We also bought a chai tea which was ALSO very tasty. Hubby and I love living in Franklin, and while we don't live in Westhaven, we frequent this neighborhood for the great little Chinese place next door. This past weekend we noticed a new neighbor to our stir fry haunt, and had to pop in. It seems they only opened two weeks ago, and Hi Brow is a coffee place, a pastry place, and an ice cream place as well. It's a small little shop, but the coffee aroma triples its square footage if the front doors are propped open like they were on the night we visited. We enter the front door and see this HUGE farmhouse type table with this amazing chandelier and glass domed cake stands, wire baskets of pastries, and random other goodies with comfy benches to prop up a seat. On one side there's a cooler with chilled beverages, and at the back there is a small ice cream freezer sporting about eight flavors and a helpful, smiling barista. We had just eaten and of course were not hungry at all, which means I got ice cream. I picked a buttery caramel traditional cream based something or another flavor, and it was yummy. It was rich, way rich, I could tell I've been on pinkberry for a while now... a nice little treat. A plus for some would be that they serve you ice cream in a cup with a wooden spoon, felt like a balsa wood or something. I'm all for saving the planet, and I get that plastic is practically forever, but I gotta say the sensation of that wooden spoon in your mouth with ice cream... not a fan. It was just weird. Will we stop back in another day? I'm sure we will. And I'll opt for a cone, and probably pick a less rich flavor for my palate, but cute nonetheless. The barista/ice cream scooper lady said the name Hi Brow comes from the name of the farm the owners also own. And if you're thinking that huge neon sign is just an HB and not Hi Brow, you'd be right. I explained I'd like a 20 Oz Iced cup fu,4 shots of espresso and dry foam on top. My first visit to High Brow and I love the feel of this space! Baristas are very friendly and knowledgeable on their coffee info and are willing to make suggestions if you need help. (Currently using Steadfast Coffee) A nice selection of coffee drinks from traditional drinks espresso drinks and pour overs to flavored lattes, chai and hot teas. They have a wide selection of pastries, a nice selection of warm food options (i.e. breakfast sandwiches, soups & paninis) and even local made ice cream! The sell high quality coffee, Cat and Cloud is notoriously good. BUT they don't know how to actually brew it correctly so there isn't a point in selling it. I used to go in for the matchless on tap but recently there hasn't been a point. They don't require masks for anyone inside except the people working and they are at full capacity... it's a cesspool. I stopped here on my way out of Nashville- the biggest perk is that they are a local business opened on a Sunday morning. I kind of stumbled upon it though. It has a really cute woodsy-chic atmosphere and they sell some honey that had to be made by the coolest bees. (It had a hip name and beat packaging) I got a pour over and it was really high quality and delicious, but as others have said on here, the top falling off was really an issue while driving. More vegetarian options would be nice, because they offer a parfait, which is nice, but not my first choice. The staff was very nice and accommodating and o got 2 biscuits with jelly instead of meat, but the price was a little steep for the amount of food I got. Not to mention, the employees were all very accommodating, and the owner even stopped by to make sure I was enjoying the coffee and gave me the wi-fi password -- something that has never happened at any other coffee shop and gave it a very neighborly feel. I've been on a tour of all the coffee shops in Franklin lately, trying to find the right balance of atmosphere and culinary delight. Needless to say, not all of them are created equally. I went here once and got the bacon biscuit. The bacon was medium rare and very fatty which I usually don't mind but it was very rubber and tough to chew hard to get down. I thought it was a one time mistake. I didn't complain or let them know I just left. I didn't go again after that because it was very gross feeling to eat it. Until months later, today. I got the sausage one. I thought it probably wouldn't be the same. It was. I guess it was never a mistake, that's just what they give you. I don't like fast food but I would prefer a fast food breakfast to these biscuits. 2 stars because they have other items like sandwiches and such that I haven't had and might be good. The reason why I'm giving this an average rating is because that's how I felt about everything. The interior is trendy, don't get me wrong, but I had average customer service accompanied with an average iced matcha latte. It was my first time at the coffee shop and because a staff member was casually talking to the cashier right where customers ordered, it took me a minute to realize that this person wasn't another customer who was in front of me ordering. Keep in mind that I don't like drinking coffee, however, I love matcha drinks. This place is 3mins from home and I love it. Coffee tastes amazing, so does the teas and you have to try the matchless coffee soda once. It's not for everyone but you need to experience it. The place has a great vibe, you can take a laptop/tablet and get some work done. The staff are super friendly and so is the owner who's in often. I want to love this place, I really do. It's convenient for me, the atmosphere is great, and the coffee and breakfast foods are good. The major problem I have is that when you charge $3 for coffee the cup material and lids should work. There have been numerous occasions where the lids here will pop off my cup and spill all over my car. Today put me over the edge as when I took these pictures the cup seam dripped all over my pants when I tried to drink it. Very frustrating for the cost - and the picture show the level of drip from the lid/seam and this isn't a one time deal (its every time). I would recommend this place if you don't have to take your coffee with you! UPDATE; the team at High Brow appreciated my review and gave me an update with the cups - and ordered new ones.
