Oh Boy! I think I found my new taco spot, It's really hard to find really good authentic Mexican tacos, especially up here in the desert. Several long time taco eateries in the high desert have been operating for more than 10 years and their tacos still taste horrible, you would think that they would improve on it. Especially with the bad reviews people give. Well let's just say high desert tacos certainly has very little to improve on as their taco presentation and flavors just popped Beginning with the nice and oiled corn tortillas which a lot of taco places fail to note that it takes a little bit of oil to make a great taco! The red sauce from high desert tacos has just a little bit of heat to just please the palate it has a hint of chipotle then you dress it with the lime and a radish and you're all set. The serving of meat is really really good especially in the covid times that we are living in right now people are pretty stingy with their servings, not so much here. Tacos are a little pricey at two bucks a pop but hey, it's worth it with the amount of meat they put on your each taco, usually 4 to 5 tacos is my limit I got five and I got stuffed on five I pushed it to the limit though. They are mini tacos and I still got stuffed. Hopefully this place sticks around for a long time. read more

First time coming in since it changed owner ship. Amil Is the name of the owner who's really nice and takes pride in what he cooks. The carne asada meat is well seasoned. I was surprised by the good flavor, Most places leave you wanting more but not here. That being said the lunch burrito was worth every Penny, DAMN is this thing huge and stuffed with massive flavor. The street tacos were decently sized and worth it but mine were plain because I have picky kids . As for the quesabirria it was pretty freakin good and had plenty of meat in it and the Dipping broth was fire. If you eat inside they give you Complimentaries chips and salsa which are made fresh like I would make them at home. That alone was a huge plus. Chicken Enchiladas were probably the one thing that let me down. It needed more cheese, green sauce and the tortillas instantly fell apart making a mess of the enchilada. The chicken had an ok flavor but again just average overall. Horchata wasn't what I am used to, had a flavor that I couldn't pinpoint but not something I will get again. Highly recommended! Great food, great salsas, great people. All the food here is made in-house with family recipes, and you can taste the difference. I don't usually get carne asada, but the asada here is amazing. It has perfect texture and flavor, and it isn't too dry or chewy like some other places. All the meats are cooked to perfection. They make my burritos the way I ask for them, and it's all done with great service. The servings are big, and they have an extensive menu that I'm still working through. No complaints from me! So glad I stopped in to check out this place. I tried the mulitas with adobada, parents tried the lengua tacos and the barbacoa tacos. The meats are so juicy, well-seasoned, and cooked perfectly. But, can we talk about the salsa? We had some chips and salsa while we waited for our order and dude....SO DANG GOOD! The chips are homemade and came out hot and crisp and perfect! The salsa is crazy good! Spicy, smokey, fresh...I'm hooked. The salsa just elevated the food to a whole new level. My parents are former restauranteurs and they were impressed. We didn't try the tacos but we had the burritos. They were good at 1st but then the flavor kind of faded. The beans were under seasoned, and the salsa did not have near enough spice in it. It's been three hours and i'm still tasting the burritos for the second time. I tried the tripas which wasn't too bad at first, and my girlfriend had the flaming hot which is stuffed with flaming hot cheetos. My sister had sopes, and she said they were enjoyable. While the meat head excellent flavor, the restaurants still need some work on seasoning the beans, rice, and spicing up the salsa. read more

When I'm telling I will never go back. I went to this place about 2 weeks ago. I was beyond furious when I came home with my food. I was so mad that I didn't even bother to call them and complain because I new I was going to cus them out. First of all my kids and I were so hungry this place was going to break our fast. How can you mess up my order especially when it was only my kids and I at the restaurant that day. I ordered 1 burrito de asada NO salsa and 2 burritos NO BEANS NO SALSA. Very easy huh well they couldn't get that right. I opened my burrito and it had nothing BUT BEANS so I told my son oh this one is yours. I opened the next burrito and new for sure it was mine because there was only 2 left that were suppose to be made the same. Well both of them had nothing BUT BEANS. I couldn't believe how they literally put a SHIT LOAD of beans a grain of rice a few pieces of meat AND have the nerve to charge me over $35 and I still ordered 2 Large horchatas that were so freaking disgusting. If they had NO Meat and NO rice they could of let me know and I would of wasted MY money somewhere else. BTW it was around 3pm When I went and if they had no more meat or rice they should of put there CLOSED sign. The worse shit you can do to people is cheat them for there money on food. Probably some of the best Mexican food I've ever had (and I eat a lot of Mexican food). Burritos are big and dense. You can easily save half for later! I notice subtle flavor enhancements from your average taco shop. Even the pickled red onions and carrots taste different (better)! This place serves high quality Mexican food and not high end prices ...will be my go-to spot when I'm in town. First time trying this place and nothing was that great that I'd remember to come back to this spot. Got the flamin asada fries, asada mulita, and Adobo/asada/Barbacoa street tacos and the meats were pretty bland/dry. The meat didn't have fat on it which was great but the asada fries had an odd taste to them, maybe it was the nacho cheese or the type of French fry I don't know but I didn't eat more than a couple bites of the fries. Im a huge food fanatic. I've been to EVERY and I mean EVERY, authentic Mexican food restaurant and taco truck up in the high desert. This place HANDS DOWN takes the #1 spot. The place may not look like much off the bat but man the food did NOT disappoint. The quesabirras/birria is ridiculously juicy and delicious and not to mention the French toast I had for breakfast the other day being done just right. I was in town for school a few days ago and I was looking for some local Mexican food. I saw this on Yelp with good reviews so I decided to give it a try. I am so glad I did, the food and service were so great. I was so impressed by Francisco's attentiveness and attitude. He was so hospitable and even gave my friend and I recommendations for the most popular items. I saw that this place is new and could see the menu looked pretty unique. I mean Hot Cheeto Carne Asada fries? C'mon you know I drove my self right on over to grab it. I didn't check the time to see when they opened I just called, but it goes to show a good business that the owner ( I assume) answered the call and took my order, let me know they weren't open yet but once they were they'd prepare my order. Easy, smooth, quick and I got my order about 20minutes after they opened, I was late getting there but when I got there the food was still hot and when I got home to eat it. Man it looked good, smelled good, and tasted good. I'm not one to review but I know what it's like starting a new business and the challenges that come but I could see the owner getting things handled and being quick and professional about it.
