I have found High Plains to have better pricing on scuba gear than the other local shops, and the employees to be just as helpful.

My kiddo went from not being able to swim at all to knowing how to rescue someone and being a total fish. The pool is always warm, even throughout the winter, so they can swim all season long. The instructors are all absolutely fantastic! If you have a little one who cannot swim, I definitely recommend this school. Also, buy the goggles. No joke, they keep them on and stop messing with them during class so they can spend more time swimming and less time fiddling with goggles.

He was not able to touch the bottom and the instructor, Ashley, did not notice. He was unable to get himself to the surface to breathe. My wife and I sprinted from the viewing area to the pool, and I pulled him from the water. This all happened without Ashley noticing the terrifying situation. The class was not stopped, the severity of what just occurred was not acknowledged. Ashely did not check on our son, ask how he was doing, or discuss this with us. Our son was only one of three children in the class when this happened. Days later, the owner, Amy agreed to speak with my wife over the phone. This step was not offered, we needed to request a phone call. There was not an apology or any expression of remorse or compassion. Amy stated safety measures were reviewed with Ashley, this was their complete response to the episode. In our communication with Amy, it was obvious we were just numbers to their operation, and we were easily replaceable with their long wait lists. Please carefully watch your child while in this pool. This was a traumatic event for everyone in our family.

They were easy and pleasant to work with to get the classes set up. We had our first class today. I attended the class today as well. Our teacher was professional and personable. We did 30 minutes in class room. and then 90 minutes in the pool. I personally deal with some sensory issues and i was able to work through them and was personally very happy with my experience. The girls that were able to go today also all really enjoyed themselves! What a great experience! I can't wait for my other girls to be able to try it. Julie was incredibly knowledgeable and made sure to make us all feel comfortable with the variety of skills we needed to know to safely dive for the first time. I felt very prepared from the pool sessions she led to be able to do my open water certification and sessions out in Hawaii. I wasn't able to finish out my certification through Ocean First due to time constraints, but the Dive Instructor out in Hawaii was incredibly impressed with my proficiency underwater, stating that if I hadn't been signed up for the course, they would have assumed I was a much more experienced diver. I lend much of that to the great instruction I had here in the pool. I cannot recommend the course enough and certainly suggest everyone who wants to learn to dive to stop by.

BEWARE OF PREDATORY AND DECEPTIVE BUSINESS PRACTICES: I signed up for a class at their advertised…read morerate of $36 a class. What was not advertised is that upon signing up, you are locked into paying at least an entire month of their services plus their membership fee. That's $184! No where on their website, or upon checkout is that amount advertised or stated. When I sign up for subscription services, or a gym membership for example, the fees are laid out very clearly. What are you supposed to do if you have a bad experience, injure yourself, or, in my case, simply cannot afford that amount for classes. They also require you give a 30-day notice of cancellation, so unless you sign up AND cancel on the same day...you're going to be taken for a ride. I was charged $250 for the one class I attended. I will add that I have never experienced such a lack of empathy and understanding from both the owner Chris and their Corporate Office. I have been told that my situation is not valid because "I'm not getting the answer I'm looking for." Well, they're partially right. I'm at least looking to be humanized, heard out, and maybe even understood at some basic level. Instead of giving me call to listen to what I had to say, I was only sent an email that reads as though they have the right to take my money and give me nothing in return because I signed a policy authorizing charges to my card, but it does not specify how much they can charge. I would recommend going anywhere else for swim lessons. You'll have a better customer service experience and it'll be cheaper.

They don't make it easy. We check their website but it is not updated with the latest swim lesson…read moredates so we had to call. We were told that they would start registering people for the lessons on a particular date and that they will not add your name to the list for classes that are not open for registration and that you could not register or pay via phone that you had to show up in person on that date on a weekday when most people are at work if you wanted to register for the upcoming classes. So, we made sure to arrange our schedule around the reg day and go there that morning. Got there to find out that the classes were full. They offered to put us on a wait list in case more classes were added. They also suggested private lessons. We put our name on the wait list and filled out a form for private lessons. They said that they'd put hook our private lesson request to the metal door frame into their office with a magnet and eventually someone would probably call us and if no one called us within a few weeks to call back because that probably meant someone took our app home intending to call us but got distracted. Wow, someone might eventually call us - not sounding too hopeful! I guess at that point I should've taken that as a sign of how unorganized this place. Never did get a call to sched private lessons but did get a VM the other day saying they added classes and to show up Sat morning for his 1st lesson. We weren't told the class length or teacher's name but figured we'd be given details on Sat. We get there and the front door is locked w/a sign saying if you are there before 8 or after 5 to enter through another door. Well, we were not there at those times but the door was locked, so we wandered around until we found the door. We get in there and it is utter chaos with a lot of noise and people in the pool getting lessons and lots of adults standing around everywhere w/bags, towels, etc. making it very difficult to even get to the reg desk. We go to the reg desk on the other side of the room and they sign us in and we pay. They point to where we should stand on the other side of the pool and say the teacher will call us. We stand where we're told to stand and watch what we think is his teacher work w/2 kids for 30 min. A bunch of people are standing around so we figured they were waiting their child's turn. We thought because this was the 1st lesson that perhaps each child's skills were being assessed individually with each child or siblings working with the teacher individually. We wait. More than 40 min. have passed and our son has not been called. The teacher is still working with the same 2 kids. We go ask the guy who took our reg $ and he points to a different teacher working w/a group of kids and nonchalantly says oh - your class is over on the other side of the pool. Nice! So they don't even make sure they have all of the kids that have signed in for the class that day? We go over there and stand Waiting for them to call our son. Nothing. Finally I go over to the pool and ask the instructor if she is the teacher for the level we had signed up for and let her know that he is supposed to be in that class and that we've been there waiting for almost an hour. She said his class is already over and recommends we talk to the reg desk. Before I can do that, the reg desk guy comes over and asks what the issue is. I say-my son has been here for an hour waiting for his lesson and now we're told he missed his lesson. How do you miss a lesson you were there on time for? He says that we should go over to the reg desk to get a credit for the missed class and that we'll still get the # of lessons he was supposed to get. I ask if he can just get his lesson while we're there since the teacher is still working with a group at his level anyway. He says no-we missed our class. I go to the reg desk. He came over and said he'll have to talk to the manager to have a credit put on our acct and when we reg/pay for the next set of classes the credit will be applied. I said that I wasn't sure that we'd sign up for a 2nd set of classes-it would depend on how satisfied we were w/the classes we already paid for. I just wanted to be able to have the missed lesson. He argued w/me. Said they can't do that and that when I reg I was told that there are NO REFUNDS. I said that I understand no refunds if I don't show up for class but to show up and pay today for a class today and have everything be a disorganized cluster where my son doesn't get his lesson and be told that we're just out that lesson unless we want pay for another set of classes is ridiculous. We did everything we were supposed to do. I told him that so far I was not impressed with how they run things-they don't give you full info and they seem to have no oversight or anyone held accountable for doing their job. He didn't care. I asked to speak to the manager but he was not there so I got his # and had to leave a msg. To say I am not happy is an understatement!

The last time I came here was over 10 years ago and it is completely revamped. Karyn and Kim were super helpful in getting me started on how the membership works and allowing me to walk around to check out the space before deciding to sign up for the membership. Luckily I'm a resident of Westminster and was able to sign up with a resident discount. The 25 yard lap pool is nice and clean, there is a small diving area and a play pool. The locker rooms are clean and you can rent a locker for free with a collateral like a car key or ID in exchange for a key to a random locker. The showers are equipped with liquid soap, and the bathrooms are clean. We tried the steam room, didn't get a chance to do the hot tub and the sauna yet but those all looked great too. You can get a punch card at a discount if you're not sure membership is the way to go to try them out. There is a small gym area for weights and cardio machines. They offer classes too so check them out online through the Westminster Activities Book. Really glad that we joined the membership - we now have access to all the Westminster Rec Centers. Super reasonable and it goes back to the city and our community.

We started swimming here when Tristan was 4 months old at their free mommy and me intro classes. Which of course we highly recommend! Miss Stacy has an amazing program that helps get moms, dads and babies ready and comfortable in the water. The price point per lesson is a bit high but no more than market standards as we have noticed. But the cost is truly worth it once you see your little ones start to swim and love the water. I would have loved to give a 5 star review but honestly had to hold back. I felt like when our teacher was out due to vacation, illness, etc we were very well accommodated but felt the lesson was sometimes a lost lesson because the sub wasn't always on the same page as our son. Yes be still was able to swim for the day or week as scheduled so his skills were touched on but each teacher had a different way with their own lessons and sometimes we felt this would have been easier to make up our lesson with our regular teacher who knew the skill set and advancement or challenges of our child. Overall a wonderful experience and we can't wait to go back after a short break
