First off I love the High Point area and have been wanting to try High Point Pizza for some time. We finally made our way there last weekend on a beautiful late afternoon. There was a lot of activity in and around all the shops so it was a great day to sit out front and enjoy the day. I always like to order a standard pizza my first visit to a pizza place so we ordered a large pepperoni, how much more standard can you get? I love the crust! Buttery and full of flavor. Great texture, just enough crispness for my taste buds. Nice blend of flavors in the sauce and great mozzarella. All together it made for a great pizza. I saw several other pizzas on the menu I can't wait to get back to try, and yes I will be back for sure. read more

After reading reviews for this place, I couldn't wait to try their pizza. Not because it was written about in a superior way or their pizzas looked amazing through the photos, but because everyone was talking about the buttery crust. Yes, I wanted to try a delicious slice of pizza pie because of butter. Sue me. That crust is awesome. The buttery, garlic goodness is crispy and delicious, and it made the pizza! My friend and I split the Cajun chicken pizza. We both thought it was delicious! Another friend of ours opted for a vegetarian option and got the Margherita pizza, which she loved. We also ordered a special that day for an appetizer, and it was amazing. Amazing. We looked over the chalkboard full of specials and noticed something called goat cheese fritters. Being southern, the word fritter got my attention. Being human, the words goat cheese really got my attention. I asked the guy taking my order what they were and he said "They're awesome. That's the only way to describe them. Awesome." He was right. Imagine a lightly battered circular cheese stick filled with gooey goat cheese with a side of marinara. I can't even talk about it without wanting another order of them. They were that good. I'm hoping they will magically be on the specials menu every time I go in there. I tried High Point Pizza for the first time about a week ago and I'm hooked. The location is a little on the smaller side, with about 3 large tables (seats 4) and two small ones (seats 2) inside and a few patio tables (seats 2) outside. We sat inside as it was raining and cold the day we went. The menu has a lot of excellent choices but not so many that it is overwhelming. The chalkboard inside has the specials. When I went they were all cajun inspired dishes. The service was pretty good. There were two men working - the one at the counter who took our order and payment and the other in the back cooking. They weren't overly friendly but they got the job done with a smile. After we placed our order we were given our cups to get our drinks. One thing I love about eating at some of the local places in Memphis is that you get a free cup! It could just be me, though. I love cups. THE FOOD. Oh the pizza itself. We ordered a 12" pepperoni pizza, half with black olives. It. Was. Delicious. The buttery, garlic crust really made the pizza. We didn't finish our pizza, so we got a box to take the rest home. I heated it up in the oven and can say that it's almost as good reheated (in the oven) as it was the first time. We will definitely be back. read more

This little pizza joint is practically just around the corner from my house, which makes it very convenient to pop in now and then for some of my favorite pizza in town. As Kerry C. mentioned in a previous review, the crust is buttery. And in my opinion, butter makes almost anything better. It's certainly true when it comes to the pizza crust at High Point. They have your typical toppings available, like pepperoni and sausage, et al. However they also have some specialty pizzas as well that you might want to try. I think the Cajun Chicken and the Margarita are both fantastic. The prices are right, anywhere from $8 to $20 for a whole pie and about $3 by the slice. I have been several times to High Point Pizza and every time it's the same great pizza. They have great service and several different choices of pizza. Tonight we had the Supreme and it's good if you are a meat lover. It fed 5 of us easy... There are not too many tables inside but if you catch it just right with the weather, they have a great patio area. So much fun to see so many people out and enjoying the green line that is so close. The pizza at this neighborhood joint is good, but not great. Wisely the menu is fairly compact. Too many ingredients generally make for a soggy pizza. The crust is thin which is my favorite. They also brush it with butter which makes for a yummy last bite. We've had the 4 meat and the Cajun Chicken as well as plain old cheese for the kid. The best thing about High Point Pizza is that they are a true neighborhood joint. While there may be better pizzas somewhere in a pretty bad pizza town, I intend to continue supporting this neighborhood restaurant for both dine in and take out. read more

High Point Pizza is in a prime spot, just off the Greenline and not to far off of Summer Ave. It has a neighborhood vibe, while still remaining relevant. I was greeted as soon as I walked in and was asked if I knew what I liked. I said that it was my first time and asked for a recommendation. I was told how great the Cuban was and they did not disappoint. The presentation was very inviting. The bread was soft, yet toasty. The meats were flavorful and the cheese brought it all together in perfect harmony. I enjoyed my time there and had a great view of both the neighborhood and my bike, which was conveniently stowed in the breezeway. read more

I can't begin to say enough good things about High Point Pizza. If you stop reading here, take away this one thing: GO THERE. I'm a self-confessed pizza addict. I could eat it 5 times a week. (Ok, I HAVE done that.) It can be any kind of cuisine or meal you want: Italian, Mexican, breakfast, dessert. You get it. I love the stuff. I'm sorry to say to other Memphis pizza places, but I've found my holy grail in High Point. They're friendly and casual, yet take their pies seriously. They obviously have a chef that comes up with their rotating specialties, as they're always well-concocted and with top-notch ingredients. They often have a fancy-shmancy sauce topping them or a crazy base sauce. No bland or overly sweet tomato sauces here. The crust is thin but more than able to hold the toppings without folding. The prices are a little on the high side but I have no problem paying more for a high quality product. Don't miss their appetizer specials either; I've had several that were mind-blowing. The charming location seals the deal. I just love coming around that bend in the neighborhood and seeing the cute little shopping center unexpectedly. Plus it's about 3 minutes from my house, so it's perfect for a Friday night pick-up...which I do, quite frequently. I can't comment on their pasta, soup, or salad, but I imagine they're pretty good. But pizza. C'mon. My only real complaint is that I get misty eyed thinking of all the specialties that have passed. Their ghosts haunt my belly. I went to High Point Pizza once a couple weeks ago, and I went back for more the exact same week. Part of it was due to the fact that I live close by, and it was really convenient at the time. The other part of it is due to their solid pizza. High Point Pizza is counter service. They have a few tables inside and just as many outside. The patio is set up on the sidewalk of the High Point strip, which is perfect for a beautiful day. This first visit, I ordered a cajun chicken pizza. The pizza was great, but the best part was the garlicy, buttery crust. It's perfect. My main qualm with pizzas is the quantity of grease resonating off of the pie. High Point has just enough grease for flavor, but not enough to complain about. I did not have to take a napkin to the top of every slice, so I was happy. The second time I came in, I got the supreme. I am not much for meaty pizzas (chicken or veggie please), but this one was pretty good. I probably won't order it again, since its not something I prefer, but it was not terrible. The beer selection is very minimal, but they have a few domestics and a few from overseas. Nothing special. This place is mainly an in-and-out kinda place, where you do not sit back and enjoy a whole meal for a long period of time. Overall, High Point Pizza is worth taking a trip out to. Bring the kids too, as its a kid friendly spot. Also, it is just right off the Greenline. Ride your bike to and from, so you can burn off some of that pepperoni! read more

We ordered the chicken caprese pizza and split an antipasto salad. The salad was very good with a generaous portion for a split salad. The pizza crust was excellent, but the combination of ingredients on top seemed to fall short of being just right. Tasty but not extraordinary. They also allowed us to bring a bottle of wine (they only serve beer and soft drinks). They offered cups and opened the bottle for us. We were annoyed by the unsupervised children running, skating, skateboarding and screaming on the sidewalk outside (despite posted signs that clearly forbid skating and skateboarding). We find fault with the parents, not the restaurant on this front. read more

Toss-up between this joint and Midtown Pizza Cafe for best pie in town. My companions thought it was pricey. I disagree. A craptastic pie at COSTCO is $10 bucks. For under 18, we had a 16" pie with 3 toppings? You can't beat that in 2012. Really. Great thin crust and yeah ... it's buttery. That's pretty amazing. It's small inside but we were lucky to be there on a warm night ... sat outside. In colder months, I imagine seating is an issue. But whatever - get takeout and enjoy at home. I love high point pizza. It has a patio, beer, and pizza. What else is there in life. I really enjoy the fact that the place has atmosphere and you have to wait for the pizza to cook. There is something about having to sit and enjoy the company you are with and wait for good food to be cooked. Plus there were 3 ninja attacks. Always pleased with the service and the food when I am able to eat at High Point. A great place to stop for lunch if you're riding the Greenline from Shelby Farms towards Tillman. My favorite go to dish is the Buffalo Chicken Salad. Today we decided to try the pizza special--Meat with Mac n Cheese. Wonderful!! Chicken, bacon, mac-n-cheese and croutons baked on a thin crust. I actually like everything but the pizza. Awesome sandwiches and specials but pizza is kinda like cardboard unfortunately.

So the pizza here is good, as are the sandwiches. That being said I would be remiss if I didn't mention that what they call a muffaletta...is only kinda sorta a muffaletta. I am not going to let it hurt the rating because this place is a gem for sure but as a New Orleans native, I definitely wouldn't order the muffaletta again. It would equate it to a "paleo" pizza place. Sure it may resemble a pizza in many respects....it may even taste pizza like....but you c an't make paleo "pizza dough" and pretend its a real pizza. Okay that might be an extreme example but you get my point...make it right or at least disclose it not lie the real thing., Anyway other than the muffaletta, I am 100% good with the rest of the menu...especially the pizza! read more

Me and my husband stopped into high point pizza because it was 3 and we are having. A late dinner with family. The pizza was perfect for 2 people ( we got the small) we ordered veggie and everything was fresh and cooked perfectly. The crust is buttery and not too thick. They have everything that you would need immediately available- pepper flakes and cheese. The price is great too. They have multiple kinds of cheesecake available that is made on side, Oreo, Nutella and original. We had a great time, I really recommend high point for pizza. read more

The food is ok but the service is very bad. I was happy to see I was the first one in for lunch, they only allow three people inside due to COVID-19. I ordered my food and sat down, then three officer then came in and ordered. When my food came out I was told I had to leave because the three officers were eating inside. My favorite pizza in Memphis. I've only gotten it to go but all my pizza dreams came true.

Living in the neighborhood, this is a staple back-up plan for dinner. Nothing fancy, just good basic pizza. Specials don't seem to hit the mark like the regular menu items (you can't go wrong with plain pepperoni). Buttery crispy crust. Husband loves the Italian spinach. The old school PacMan machine is a nice touch and can make great entertainment while waiting for a to go order. Beer is slightly overpriced, but you can take your pizza to go and stop by the adjacent High Point Pub. Service is okay, nothing wrong but also nothing special. What you see is what you get and indeed it's pretty solid. read more

Had a take-out pizza here last night. Hate to say that the middle third of the pizza was stuck to the cardboard box. Couldn't lift it out without a turner. A little light on the ingredients. Love eating in the restaurant, but may not order take-out again unless parchment paper is laid in the box first. The lady that took the order (a brunette) was robotic on the phone, emotionless. She wasn't much better in person. I felt like I was at a fast food joint, she talked so fast. Felt like she was trying to get me out of there ASAP. I live near in the High Point area and have eaten here many times and thought the pizza was "pretty good." Tonight we had the BBQ chicken, meatball app and cheese bread (figured we'd have plenty for lunch tomorrow). The meatball was outstanding with a perfect slightly acidic sauce. Cheese bread was good for cheese bread - simple stuff. The BBQ chicken pizza had little BBQ sauce and the chicken was bland. The crust was thin, which we like, but was very limp - YUCK. read more
