This is a great little local restaurant with some pretty good food. I have eaten here a number of times and their service is always very good and very consistent. The pizzas are very tasty, as are the salads and other entres. This is a place you should try when you have a chance. Note - they are closed on Mondays. read more

We went there for lunch. The service was good and the atmosphere was also good. We ordered the chicken nachos $17.00 which tasted okay but you could hardly find the very small cubes of chicken. Was charged $5.50 for a 12oz draft beer.On our ticket, we were charged 3% for using a credit card, which we would have paid cash if we were told or seen a sign. So I've only ever had pepperoni and sausage pizza from here but it's amazing. It's about the size of a medium pizza so it's on the small side. And it's $20 so it's on the expensive side. BUT all pizzas are made in this super nice brick oven. I was informed that a lot of their food is cooked in there which is pretty neat. I tried it the first time about a week ago and already went back so that should tell you how good it is. Heck I'm kind of wanting to get another even though I just had one last night. I'm excited to get to go in and actually eat at the restaurant. It's got a nice little vibe and I'm guessing that if everything else on the menu is as good as the pizza, you will enjoy your visit. read more

Went once with some girl Friends. Had the salmon and asparagus not worth $18 plus dollars. It was literally 2 spears and the smallest slice of salmon ever. This is a wonderful family run restaurant that attracts a lot of locals that instantly become regulars. My personal favorite menu items are their special mashed potatoes (a secret recipe) and the Apple Pecan Salad with grilled Salmon. If I could eat this every day, I would! They also have brick oven pizzas that put all other pizza places to shame. (The dough is made homemade and there are a lot of toppings) All of the steaks and pork loin are hand cut by the owner. All food is cooked fresh to order and the local beers are nice and cold. The service is always amazing and everyone is so friendly. 10/10 recommend eating at SkiMo's. read more

Boy, how times of changed. We used drive from Bartlett to Skimo's's on regular basis just to get their hamburger. It used to be a wonderful hand patted thick grilled to perfection burger, But not now, it's a very thin frozen patty grilled and tasteless. However, I can say that the Chibbata bun, the beer battered fries and the service were incredible. From now on if I want just a regular hamburger I can go most anywhere. With that being said we won't be going back there for a burger again. read more

Skimo's has been around for a while and is one of a few places with a stone pizza oven. I don't live near the restaurant, but every time I'm in there I'm reminded of how I wish it was closer to my house. First, the chicken nacho platter that we munched on while we waited on our pizza was really good, and was large enough for a family of four. Not skimpy at all. The pizza was cooked to perfection. Not too cheesy (no flop), with just the right amount of crisp to the crust. We kept it simple- pepperoni and sausage. The restaurant was not crowded at all & the service was fast. The restaurant is kind of covered up by other places and it's on a really crowded street, but well worth a visit. read more

It wasn't the worst pizza I've ever had, but it was one of them. I ordered the meat lovers. The only good thing I can say about it was the peppers and red onions were fresh and the beef seemed to be cooked in house. The dough was fresh made, but I didn't care for it, and it just seemed to be slopped together. Didn't care for the sauce. Didn't care for the cheese. The chicken was the worst of the worst. It was undoubtedly a pre-cooked frozen variety you might find at Sam's. I'm not even sure if it was real chicken. It's awful. Other ingredients were just boxed or bagged and bought through Sysco or Sam's. The price point for such a small pizza of such low quality was way out of line. I left lunch with $25 less in my pocket, and only two pieces left which I did not finish. I've enjoyed Digiorno's pizza more. read more

I've been here a couple times now and everything I've ever gotten has been great and service is nice! The only complaint I have is I wish the servers took a little more pride in their appearance. Most servers I've had are wearing like sleep yoga pants with their hair a mess. I know that's a little superficial but it seems a lil sloppy! Definitely worth the trip though read more

Dyann and I came in for a late lunch. We both got house salads and then shared a shrimp poorboy. Then had apple fritters for desert. Salads were very fresh and loaded with bell pepper an onions. The poorboy was served on fresh ciabatta bread. Shrimp were fresh and tasty. The wasabi sauce was not overly spicy - just right. The fries were some of the best I have had - crispy and seemed fresh cut. Our desert - apple fritters were VERY good and reasonably priced. Why, oh why was this experience so painful? Mainly because of the wait. We were seated immediately and then waited approximately 20 minutes until our order was taken. And that was only because I got up to go get someone. I mean the place was deadsville so I wasn't really sure what was taking so long. Then the waitress told me that she thought our waiter was sick and was probably stuck in the bathroom....eeeww! Not what I wanted to hear at this moment. Moving on, I ordered the french onion soup and ceasar salad. It took another 25 minutes for them to bring this out to me. For soup and salad? Neither were above average either. Totally bummed out. This place has a great ambiance about it. The bar area looks really cool and just big enough for a good size group of friends to meet up with after work. Went to this restaurant the other night because of minimal options in the neighborhood. Which is the only reason this place will get business. Ordered the chicken philly. Finally received it 45 mins later which was absurd. The sautéed onions and peppers that were on it were cold upon arrival. The cheese that was one melted was crusted over. The chicken was luke warm. And the hoagie roll was so soggy that when you attempted to suck it up and take a bite, the cold contents fell through the bottom of the roll. Disgusting is the only word that comes to mind. I dont understand it when clearly it was hot at one point. There was plenty of staff standing around in groups the whole time. And im sure that the four customers inside of the restaurant were not putting them in the weeds. No excuse other than pure laziness from a staff that could care less about their customers. It's ok. It was dead on a Tuesday night. I got a salad with a seared tuna steak. The tuna was more than seared. It wasn't bad but overcooked for a salad. The portions are decent and the prices aren't horrid. The Amaretto sours I was drinking didn't qualify as well drinks (they have everywhere else I've been). We went for trivia. I'm giving this two stars because our waitress and beverages were great! The food was not up to par at all. I ordered the steak philly which had a pound of salt dumped on it. For the appetizer we had the slope nachos which were not good at all. The ground beef looked like the cook had chopped up burger patties and sprinkled them on top of our nachos. My hubby had the chicken avocado which he said was not too bad. My sister had the shrimp Alfredo and she said the shrimp was chewy and the overall dish was bland. I passed by the kitchen on my way to take my little one to tinkle and it was dirty and had towels and open containers everywhere. The bathroom was clean and tidy! Overall the food was horrible, the service was good and we definitely will not be returning. The food is overpriced compared to the quality of the food. read more

The people who own this place just don't seem to care. The waitress, said to be bar owners wife, seems to believe she is doing you a favor by serving you. Be sure to tell her to FILL your beer glass. Otherwise you will get almost 2 inches of foam with it. That would be fine if they used the big mugs; but they use small glasses. The food quality is inconsistent and mediocre at best and very expensive for bar food. A small NY Strip and single vegetable will set you back $27 plus tax. Add a beverage, and it is almost $40. Not much going for this bar/grill. This is a place better avoided. 1 Star awarded because a lower rating cannot be given. read more

This restaurant was suggested by a friend. We enjoyed it very much. A casual atmosphere, friendly and efficient staff, and very tasty food. We both had the bone-in pork loin, which was delicious and cooked to perfection. I had the mashed potatoes (secret recipe) and my husband had the asparagus risotto, which he liked as much as the risotto he had in Italy. I enjoyed the grilled asparagus; my husband thought it was too stringy. He did like his French onion soup...just a little too much salt. We were too full to get dessert, but will definitely go back and try something else, and hopefully, dessert, too. read more

Skimo's is one of the only sit-down restaurants in its area, so they don't really have to pull out all the stops to pull in customers. They have a full bar, decent menu, and average staff. They also do live music weekly, and have plenty of TVs on throughout the restaurant. I recommend the pizzas--they're always good, and retain the flavor when reheated the next day. I've also tried a few of the sandwiches, which were average. Basically, if you live nearby and don't feel like driving far or getting into traffic, Skimo's will do the job. read more

We had been to Skimo's years ago and finally returned on the way home from a road trip. We were early for Saturday dinner and shared the place with one other group. We did ask to change tables because there was a floor fan blowing on us. We ordered a pizza to split and the spouse got a salad. He liked his salad. We waited a bit for the pizza and our server told us our pizza had torn and had to be remade. The pizza was fine, but I guess if I'm going to splurge on pizza I should go to a pizza place. read more
