Ok I am a big fan of High Rooftop, as it is really the only rooftop bar that we have in Venice. When I have friends in town I love to bring them up here because of the views and the vibes. This is a MUST at sunset!!! The view is beautiful and one of the clearest in Venice. It's pretty much oceanfront- rooftop of a hotel. There was a live DJ set with cool vibes and they even have a little dance floor ! They provide the best Mexican-style blankets to keep you warm bc it gets chilly with ocean breeze on these March evenings. The seating is tricky if you don't have a reservation expect to stand around until one of the tall-tops open up as its first come first serve... the hostess had a bit of a power trip but I'm sure she has to "stand on bidness" with as much foot traffic as comes thru. The drinks were "meh" - nothing extraordinary and yes pricey- you are paying for the view... if you order food and are not seated at the "reserved" tables you will need to order at the bar and then a runner brings it out to your table so you never really get "service". Drinks are also ordered at the bar. It was too cold for me to eat outside so don't know if it was quality or not. Best to book a reservation, but they were able to seat us despite not having one, which was nice! Had the lobster roll and truffle fries. The lobster roll was decent - more of a lobster salad instead of lobster pieces. We were hungry so still devoured them lol. The chips are made fresh - those were a hit. Just be mindful that you have to place food and drink orders at the bar, so that you're not sitting at your table waiting for someone to take your order! Ambiance: 10/10 We reserved a table online to make the process smoother but to be honest, as I got there I was slightly confused as I must have not read this lounge was on top of a hotel lol. We had a great time visiting this rooftop lounge though. It was really good views of the ocean and the beach front. The rooftop lounge is a very large area so definitely could host large groups. Our server started off strong then pretty much disappeared. We couldn't find him to order more drinks. Then we were ready to leave and couldn't find him to get the check. My cousin tried to get the managers attention and that took multiple attempts as well. When we finally got our check it was just the credit card receipts. No detailed breakdown showing everything we got. We had to leave to get to our next location and didn't have time to ask for one. The drinks and food we had were also really good. The restaurant either needs to staff it more or figure out service sections better. Our waiter was bouncing all over the rooftop. Watched an amazing sunset and ocean waves with Santa Monica pier and Malibu in the distance. They come and bring you blankets if you want them. A bit pricey. They really kick you out at 9pm and they mean it. They were out of quite a few menu items. All the flat bread was out and they didn't have ginger beer for any of the mule drinks. None. No ginger beer. Props to the bartender who made us a very delicious drink anyways using jalapeno seeds and slices. It was fantastic. A couple stars back in your direction. Food was ok, small and expensive. They have some vegan options, which is helpful, but again, missing a lot of menu items. The menu is already small, so that really cuts down on your options when all flatbreads are out. I ordered the lobster roll. It was the smallest lobster roll on the West coast. Holy smokes! It was like 1.5 Kings Hawaiian buns in length and 1 tablespoon of lobster. An appetizer size...for $22. Tasted great, but just wish there was more of it. Two bites and gone. Wait staff was cool. Most of them just seemed over dealing with drunk, entitled tourists, but that's not our fault. We were being cool and being respectful. Security were total dicks. Chasing us out of there like we didn't just spend $200 on food and drinks. "We're closing soon. Everybody's gotta go! Use the other exit!" Simmer down. Geez. I have been many times - and been hesitant to go since the Pandemic as I was put off by the hipster attitude where everything always seems to be a nuisance to whoever greeted and waited on my party. On Tuesday I took one of my artists and his wife - and we had an excellent time. The supposed-to-be medium steak on my friend's salad was dead-dead-dead ;-) - but we were happy to forgive almost anything as our waiter Max was going out of his way to keep us happy (everyone else was great too, Max was just fantastic). They do not seem to work there because they want to, but maybe have to, perhaps because they want to live in the area, but at least do not want to work at a fast food restaurant. We liked the dude standing perfectly straight like they teach in acting school, in his black Secret Service sunglasses and black Secret Service Nordstrom Rack jacket jacket and trousers, no tie, no smile and frozen stiff pose. Food was at best below average with an already limited menu. We like limited menus as that usually means a restaurant is very focused on what they make well, but that is not the case here. There are already limited decent full service restaurants in the area, but it would still be best if you fought your hunger pangs and gutted it out until you can leave the area to get to much better restaurants. Presecco - delightful Lobster roll - on a hawaiian roll and sooooo delicious Ceasar salad - satisfying addition to the spread Calamari - talk about melt in your moufff! So buttery. I love that this place has blankets for you to use! It can get chilly on the rooftop at night, and I'm glad they have heaters as well. We paid for parking across the street from which was $10 for the hour or $20 for the whole night. This place is on the rooftop of Hotel Erwin. The hotel lobby by the entrance is pretty small and there was only one elevator in the main lobby. There was a long line to use the elevator and get to the rooftop, but the front desk let us know we could take the stairs if we did not want to wait. read more

Didn't have reservations but as we were just having a drink, there was seating available. Service was good, went up to the bar to order our drink versus having a waiter. It does get busy drying sunset so that's a heads up. I made a reservation for ten people for the rooftop lounge on a Thursday afternoon. On Wednesday night, I got an email that my resection was cancelled. When I tried to email to understand why, the email bounced back. When I called the number, it rang and went to voicemail. I was never contacted about the closure of this restaurant, and it was extremely unprofessional to cancel the reservation 24 hours before with no advance notice. They HAD to know they wouldn't be open on that date, since it's clear a new venue is opening in the space. I'd have no follow up in the last few days from the restaurant, and I was left scrambling to find a last-minute reservation. While the views from the rooftop are beautiful, I can't support a business that's this disrespectful of its patrons. read more

Had an absolutely incredible time here for Sunday brunch! We made a reservation on a gloomy weekend and were lucky enough to get a front row balcony view. We watched surfers, pickup soccer and basketball games, street performers, and the skate park all from our seats. Our group was incredibly comfortable in the couch style seats and were kept very warm by the heaters. We ended up grabbing blankets to make it extra cozy. Max was an excellent waiter who remained patient, kind, and attentive even with half of our group running late. Fun, chill electronic music played throughout our visit and enhanced the Venice vibe. Normally at a place with such an incredible view, they can slide by with average food. Luckily, this place not only has spectacular views, but ridiculously tasty food. The brunch menu doesn't really have any traditional appetizers, so we opted to share the avocado toast. It had sliced green grapes on it which was a unique and tasty new twist to a common brunch staple. The bread tasted freshly homemade and the avo was fresh and seasoned well. For our meal, we got (pictured) the rosemary chicken and candied walnut waffle and breakfast burrito (avo and bacon on the side). Wow - what a flavorful and delicious twist on chicken and waffles! It was very filling and every bite had such deep flavor. The burrito had soft, fluffy, cheesy eggs mixed with fresh herbs and crispy bacon. We got the boozy Grasshopper Bar ice cream for dessert and it was massive - definitely worth the price. The fudgy chocolatey bottom was an amazing contrast to the minty ice cream. I imagine this place gets very crowded during the summer or even a weekend with better weather so I'd definitely recommend a reservation and whole heartedly recommend it for any groups looking for a beautiful and fun view of LA, delicious food, and great vibes! read more

In fact, it's the only rooftop fully outdoor bar lounge in Venice for sophisticated fun. Look at the ingredients of the restaurant--food, drinks, and views. It's a vibe. Our waiter Lauren, hi Lauren, set the tone with a glowing introduction and instructed that the menu QR code for table ordering was on the table. Her manner was fun and sweet. She brought out a glass of water in a detailed textured bottle. We went ahead and ordered a few pizzas one being the vegan pizza, which I will be reviewing. Before that, let me critique the mocktail. It came in an hour glass and "fully clothed". Suggested by Deedee, sleeping beauty was wickedly delightful and it even had a cherry at the bottom. I was sitting there catching life as it went by with my beautiful sisters, an intoxicatingly stunning view, and a mocktail in hand. Sip after sip, everything just connected life, love, and happiness. Clink. -Intermission- Think of a number under 100. Double it. Add ten. Half it. Take away the number you started with. Your number is 5. -Intermission- The vegan pizza that came "partially clothed" with red sauce, cauliflower, peppers, mushrooms, onions, vegan cheese, and olives. Although there are no substitutions there is an option to add jalapeños for a small fee. Focaccia-style crust--In other words the crust was thick and soft. It was also rustic and delicious. I would definitely order that again. High elevates your taste experience and it really does feel good to be high...in altitude, that is. They have heat lamps/blankets and sunscreen/glasses if it's too high. Next time I have my eyes on the Cali-Avo burger and fries. It has a beyond patty and wrapped in iceberg lettuce. I would even like to return for their brunch; gold N greens and sunrise sound quite refreshing. Good for special occasions such as birthdays and every days. After our first round of drinks and food was ordered and sent to our table nobody came by to check on us for at least 45 minutes with no refills on water, no second round of drinks, or no working fire while everyone around us got service... manager at least comped some of our tab but unfortunately don't think I'd come back and give them a second try read more

Out server was very attentive and gave great recommendations. I loved the avocado toast - it was full of flavor with red peppers and grapes. Come for the views not the food. We were a group of 7 so we got a reservation for Saturday night. While our table was not directly in front of the beach (you have to pay extra to reserve those tables) the view was still great and we were able to get some cute sunset pictures. The tables have heaters near them so you can make sure to stay warm! We ordered dinner and drinks. The drinks were good, but the dinner was expensive and unimpressive. One person in my party ordered a mocktail and ended up getting a huge fly mixed into her drink. We returned it and asked for another. They informed us they were not out of that original drink so they handed her a random other mocktail. I would expect that this be comp'ed but they only gave us a 50% discount which was annoying. We debated complaining but the service was already so slow we didn't want to wait another half an hour to sort out the issue. read more

Our waitress TOOK FOREVER TO TAKE OUR ORDERS; then our heat lamp wasn't working at all, the group next to us had the same issue and they moved them with no hesitation, when we were the ones that were saying that it wasn't working and they didn't even bother to suggest to move us, even when we saw empty spots and they told us they were already "reserved" but the white girls next to us complained and they were moved with absolutely no hesitation. Spectacular rooftop location in the middle of Venice Beach. In town for a football game and decided to tour Venice Beach. We popped into High Rooftop Lounge on the recommendation of someone in our party. He mentioned this place and gave it rave reviews. It did not disappoint. Such a vibe! We didn't have reservations but they sat our party of 5 immediately in the very front corner of the rooftop. I mean, amazing! We ordered bottle service and several appetizers. We had plans to tour the beach and head to Santa Monica but the views, vibes and waves at High Rooftop Lounge kept us there for hours. MAKE SURE TO CHECK YOUR CHARGES FROM THIS PLACE!! Came with my boyfriend a few days ago on Labor Day for happy hour. Barely anyone up there and service was slow and lackluster. My total came to $78 even and I let a cash tip and didn't tip with my card. Few days later I see that they charged my card $98.55 and the amount cleared and isn't pending (which can happen for processing of anticipated tip etc). I immediately called them as soon as they opened and spoke to a woman who said that she would let her manager know as soon as she got in and they would call and email me back ASAP. Five hours later still nothing so I call again, and get the same run around and am told that the manager has been in meetings all day and couldn't get to my issue and would get back to me the next day, sounds like BS to me. The woman on the phone also seemed to hesitate when I mentioned that I still have a copy of my receipt which seemed really weird. Next day nothing from the manager. At this point I've filed a chargeback because clearly this establishment doesn't care about fixing this huge issue, basically committing charge fraud on my card. And to top it off I got the worst food poisoning from their burger Views are great and that's about it. Super bummed cause I was so excited to finally check out this place. read more

Came here for a drink with the gals and it did not disappoint. The vibes are fun and the staff are very nice. We made a reservation ahead of time which was easy. We sat at a high top table. The drinks were good but $$. Got a aperol spritz and it was decent. Didn't come in a wine glass & barely had any bubbles. We also got the chips and guac which was yummy. The guac seemed homemade however the chips were stale. We didn't order the calamari but when the table next to us got it delivered, it smelled so good. The worst part was the wind.... I understand it's a rooftop however it got so cold even with the sun. We sat towards the end which was super windy however closer to the hostess stand it wasn't as windy.
