I ordered the loco moco special with a pineapple cream soda. The loco moco was really good. The burger patty was juicy and flavorful, the gravy was rich and savory, and the egg on top tied everything together perfectly. The rice soaked up all the sauce and made it super comforting and filling. The pineapple cream soda was cold and refreshing and went really well with the meal. Sweet, creamy, and a nice contrast to the savory plate. The spot itself has a relaxed, casual vibe and the staff was friendly and welcoming. Food came out hot and fast. Definitely a place I'd come back to when I'm craving a solid Hawaiian style comfort meal.

Good ole Teriyaki Chicken and Beef Special with cabbage salad and mac potato salad

Casual place... popular take out. Great value! Our usual Teriyaki Chicken and Beef is enough for two, maybe plus one child. The teriyaki wasn't too sweet and the beef was very tender. The cabbage ramen salad that it came with was very tasty. I preferred it over the Chinese chicken salad my MIL ordered. The mac salad was a good, a little bland. Parking in the lot but depending on what time you go, can fill up and you can park on the residential streets. (We did stop by to pick up a black sesame cream puff next door at Chantilly's!)

I ordered the chicken katsu curry plate ($18.90, plus tax of $1.98) for the first time, today. Potatoes and carrots are in curry gravy, served over rice and chicken katsu. I suspect that the vegetables were pre-cooked, then set aside until needed. (Some of the smaller vegetable pieces had a constant temperature throughout; some of the larger potato chunks were cooler in the center than the exterior.) But that's ok, because the vegetables weren't overcooked and had an "al dente" texture. The white rice and vegetables have a neutral taste. The curry had just the right amount of salt and spice to add flavor to these elements without being "too much". The meal also came with a small salad. This was unexpected. But the side salad provided a palate cleanser in between bites of curry. In my younger years, I would have finished the whole plate. Nowadays, I eat until no longer hungry. All of this is to say that the serving size is more than adequate.

I love the convenience and welcoming aloha vibes of walking in and ordering from the vast menu of Hawaiian style plates. The portions are massive as the island style should be making it worth every dollar. Mahalo!

On a Sunday morning in early March, my brother drove my sister and I here for lunch. They opened at 11am and already there were people eating here. I ordered beef teriyaki with rice and California roll with soda. It has lot S of long tables and round tables. We didn't wait too long for our food. The plate has lots of rice and beef teriyaki which looks like beef jerky overcooked and dry, the California roll looked horrible with too much rice inside and badly rolled. My sister liked her chicken salad but her teriyaki chicken was dry too. It tastes better covered in sauce. Hence for the 2 stars. The only good thing about was free pickle ginger, clean bath rooms, Soda machine, and nice atmosphere.

Great food & big portions! The cashier was very friendly and service was quick and food was fresh and cooked to order! The katsu was deliciousssss perfectly crispy and juicy inside. The loco moco was very flavorful as well.

My son had the combo teriyaki plate. It comes with Mac Salad and a side chicken salad and white rice. That was ok, neither of us cared for the Mac salad as it had a sweet taste to it. My son did not eat it all as he didn't care to finish his plate. I got the Chinese chicken salad and it was not that great either. Kinda boring, as you see in the pic. Dressing is good so that's a positive. I know this place is popular maybe I need to try other stuff but this is my second time and I really think there's better teriyaki places out there.

This place is so good. Their shaved ice on a summer day is so refreshing and their flavors are great. Their Chicken Cutlet curry with veggies is solid and very flavorful. They have something for everybody that enters these doors and you come out satisfied and people come back cause it's good and comfort food as well. Their menu is BIG but a lot of great items for sure. Their parking is a bit limited at times when there's a rush but there is additional parking on street and on the other side of the shopping mall that it's in. The space is always clean and tidy and the customer service is great! The cooks are fast and efficient and hardworking for sure.

Decided to finally try the place I frequently pass by throughout the week! Stepping in the staff were welcoming and willing to express what their popular dishes are as a first timer. I ended up choosing the teriyaki steak and chicken combination plate. It comes with chicken salad and Mac salad. I HATED the Mac salad - I didn't like the texture or the flavor. I'm not sure what it was supposed to taste like but it wasn't seasoned and the creamy taste was not enjoyable either. The chicken salad on the other hand was delicious and they provided a good amount to accompany the proteins. The steak and chicken were super flavorful and also tender. I had enough to eat this meal twice and thoroughly enjoyed it. The ambiance is cool - I didn't eat inside the restaurant but from what I can tell it's a very clean and comfortable atmosphere.

I love Island Hut! The Chinese chicken salad is my favorite! The dressing is just the best! The service was so fast and the food is always great. Come hungry, or you will be taking leftovers home.

Back again, but this time, shared this experience with my girlfriend. Can confidently say she as well enjoyed her meal. We also grabbed the 50/50 fries with onion rings, which was a nice little app. She got the low carb teriyaki plate and i got the beef and salad combo, and they both hit the spot, with leftovers to be enjoyed later. Our server was patient and friendly, since it was my girlfriend's first time.

Well protected at Island Hut today.

Island Hut is always an option whenever I go to the Costco in Torrance since it's nearby. The food here is so ono(tasty, NOT oh no) and service is good. Much better than L&L or the chain Ono restaurant (which I think should change its name to NoNo). Island Hut has a nice variety of options and I've never had anything I've been disappointed with in the 4 or 5 previous visits. I really enjoy their Tonkatsu (pork cutlet) curry plate. The curry is much better than I've found at some other local Hawaiian restaurants. The portion was quite large as well. What amused me was the size of the chunks of carrots. Really BIG. Enough to make any screwy wabbit happy : ) The parking lot is rather smallish and the day my wife and I went to meet some friends, a large group of Sheriffs had gathered to eat. We lucked out and got the 1 remaining spot. At least we knew we weren't getting mugged or robbed that day. Definitely give this place a shot if you're into Hawaiian food. It's a solid choice in the South Bay.

Unfortunately, my visit on July 25 was a completely different experience. The black sesame bingsu had a strong pepper-like taste, making it unpleasant to eat. On top of that, the taiyaki we ordered didn't arrive until about 30 minutes later, so we no longer had time to enjoy it at the restaurant and had to take it to-go. When we politely brought up the taste of the bingsu with an employee (a young man with glasses and shoulder-length hair), he became defensive, spoke to us rudely, and walked away in the middle of the conversation before we could finish explaining the issue. At that point, we weren't even complaining about the delayed taiyaki. We simply wanted to let them know something seemed wrong with the dessert. We did eventually receive an apology for the delayed taiyaki, but only after we asked about the reason for the delay. The employee explained that he had mixed up our order with another table. I've supported Okrumong for years, which makes this experience especially disappointing. Everyone makes mistakes, and a delayed order or a food quality issue can happen. What really stood out was how the situation was handled. I hope the management takes customer service more seriously, because this visit was far below the standard I've come to expect from Okrumong.

It came topped with red beans, a rich peanut butter-like paste (I'm not exactly sure what it was, but it was delicious), a generous dusting of injeolmi powder, and condensed milk on the side to drizzle over everything. As you dig into the fluffy shaved ice, you're rewarded with surprise chunks of chewy mochi hidden throughout, and I believe there were even more red beans waiting at the bottom. Every bite was packed with flavor and texture. The boba shop is located on the northwest corner next to Dentist of Old Torrance with plenty of parking. The shop's dining space is mostly of 2-tops that can be adjusted to seat larger groups, with a unisex restroom is in the back. There's a corner to the right of the entrance with a Boba Bunny neon sign & powder blue scooter that's great for taking pics! I first learned of the shop via Toast last year when they offer a $2.00 birthday treat. My son has tried most of the local boba shops so I wanted to see how this ranks on his list. The menu is pretty extensive for its size with: fresh fruit teas, blended fruit/smoothies, fruit yogurt, fruit mocktails, premium milk teas, pure teas, cheesy bunny teas, tea lattes, ice milks, coffees, toppings ice creams, build your own (bubble) waffle, bubble waffle combo, churros, shaved ice, hot sandwiches/paninis, toasts, croissants, rice bowls, salads, munchies, add-ones... whew! There's also collectible boba bear bottles that's refillable; I don't think the refillable bottle is more than their large drinks unlike some other shops with refill options. Stopping by on a late Saturday morning, it was quiet. It took a few minutes to peruse their menu & I had a few questions since the electronic menu & kiosk didn't have a description of the ingredients. I ordered Lychee Berry with Crystal Boba, & M picked a large Strawberry Mochi Shaved Ice. It took a few minutes before my order was ready. I liked the Lychee Berry... it has a floral & sweet tart taste from the lychees & strawberries, with a moderate serving of crystal boba. The shaved ice was definitely IG-worthy! It's piled high with ice fluff & topped with fresh strawberries, mochis, & a strawberry bunny jello; their house special strawberry purée, a bit too sweet for my liking, is set aside to prevent diluting the shaved ice. The mochi is colored, but it doesn't taste flavored or fresh (in-house) made; fresh as in chewy & pillowy like a marshmallow. The jiggly bunny makes a fun pic (see videos)! M thought it was funny to tap its behind, & we had it angled so that it looks like it's eating a pink mochi. Hehehe... While it's creative to a certain extent & tasty, the menu is on the expensive side for the serving size. Service was positive since we were the only customers, though slow due to the order execution process. Alas, the location is not quite marketable even though there's high traffic from Ralph's. It's the same owner, rebranding the Boba Bunny to Phin Coffee a couple of months ago after 2 years as a boba shop, which makes sense since there was a special run 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM with a 20% discount on coffee & matcha before the transition.

Banana Cream Pie Latte - this one carries the biggest punch for banana lovers. Banana cream the entire way from start to finish. Not too sweet. Awesome foam top too. I highly recommend drinking these without the straw. Foam top drinks are best appreciated when you get a nice 50:50 ratio of the foam and drink. Banana Matcha Latte - the name speaks for itself. It's a nice mixture of both. So if you're looking to feel a little healthier with the matcha element, then go for it. This was probably the prettiest drink of the 3 that we had. Americano - delicious and got the job done here. I naturally enjoy Ethiopian and Colombian beans. I brew them often at home. I was definitely wide awake after these drinks lol Strawberrynana Waffle - If you LOVE belgian-style waffles like me, then you'll find yourself ordering this again and again. It wasn't too sweet but sweet enough to easily go through 2 or 3 of these plates if you're crazy enough. Banana Walnut Honey Bread - the best for last! I really loved eating brick toast growing up. There were so many stores back in the day that sold them, and now I can't find them as easily. In fact, Caffe Bene is the only place in the South Bay that I know that sells them.
